• Consistent tabs through out the application

  Hi, I have created an apk which has activities. I have included tabs in my program through which the user can select the required activity. But my main problem is that i couldnt find a way to display the tabs throughout the application. For example, on clicking a tab the corresponding tab opens. But when i click on a button the activity is displayed but the tabs are not getting displayed. I have included a tabHost in the program to display the tabs for various activities...

  Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of any way i can implement an application which will do the following. Allow a user to specifiy a connection string to a sql db Allow a user to specify a table in the db Allow a user to specify columns from the specified table Generate Views & a Controller with Crud methods on the fly for the specified table columns in a subdirectory on the current web app. I'm aware that there are apps that currently do this (such as sharepoints list creation stuff), but i'd like to see how this was accomplished and recreate it for my own learning purposes. • uploading a i-phone application to apple store??

  i have been trying to uplaod an application to apple store for 2 days now..first they said the provisioning profile was not right due to which i had to make a new one and upload it again now after that problem was solved while uploading the new binary it said the version was same with the previous minor version(1.0 - which someone else uploaded in my company)..then i changed the version to 1.1 by changing it in target info properties..then i cleaned all targets quite the xcode,restarted the xcode and build the project again..it succeeded and now wen i uploaded it it still says the same error version same with the previous minor version is there any other way of changing the version number though in my info.plist file it is showing version:1.1??

The problem is, that no exception is thrown, when i deploy the project and also no exception is thrown when i call the page. • Take screenshot of DirectX full-screen application

  This boggles me. DirectX bypasses everything and talks directly to the device driver, thus GDI and other usual methods won't work - unless Aero is disabled (or unavailable), all that appears is a black rectangle at the top left of the screen. I have tried what other have suggested on several forums, using DirectX to get the back buffer and save it, but I get the same result: device-GetFrontBufferData(0, surface); D3DXSaveSurfaceToFile("fileName", D3DXIFF_BMP, surface, NULL, NULL); Is there any way to get a screenshot of another full-screen DirectX application when Aero is enabled?

• how to profile silverlight mvvm application with a lot of custom controls

  There is a quite big LOB silverlight application and we wrote a lot of custom controls which are rather heavy in drawing. All data is loaded by RIA service, processed and bound (using INofityPropertyChanged interface) to the view. The problem is that first drawing takes a lot time. Following calls to the service (server) and redrawing is quite fast. I used Equatec profiler to track the problem. I saw that processing takes a couple of miliseconds only so my idea is that the drawing by SL engine is slow. I'm wondering if it is possible to profile somehow processes inside SL to check which drawing operations are taking too much time. Are there any guidelines how to implement faster drawing of complex custom controls?

• Connect rails application to MsSQL 2005 from Windows

  Hi guys. I (sadly) have to deploy a rails application on Windows XP which has to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Surfing in the web there are a lot of hits for connect from Linux to MsSQL, but cannot find out how to do it from Windows. Basically I followed these steps: Install dbi gem Install activerecord-sql-server-adapter gem My database.yml now looks like this: development: adapter: sqlserver mode: odbc dsn: test_dj host: HOSTNAME\SQLEXPRESS database: test_dj username: guest password: guest But I'm unable to connect it. When I run rake db:migrate I get IM002 (0) [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified I'm not a Windows user, so cannot understand really well the meaning of dsn element or so. Does someone have an idea how to solve this? Thanks in advance

In initial phase it is expected to be around 50,000 resumes and it should be scalable enough if number increases.   Hello all, i have sth.bat file which launches my java program on compuiter A. i start this application from computer B by using "psstart \computerA "c:\sth.bat" ". but i when it comes to kill it in the same way, im limited with the process name. Because when sth.bat is run, i see a cmd.exe and java.exe in process list. I have to use the process name with "pskill \computerA processName". But i have more than one applications named cmd.exe and java.exe. How can i solve this problem?

  Hello Everyone, I developed an application using VS 2008 and MS Access2007 and it works fine. Now have to make a setup of it(this is my first project). I gone through many tutorials about deployment, I tried VS 2008 setup and deployment, but after installation it only runs in my machine and not in others..sometimes it shows error(The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine(that machine had both VS2008 and MS Access installed)). I been a week since, i tried what i can and still trying, cant believe that i am strucked here, nothing seems to work. Please help...   Does anyone know of a library that enables you to run an application inside some kind of sandbox, with virtual mouse and keyboard support. The use case would be to create some kind of visual test runner, that would replay all actions taken during recording and play them back. So far I found autopy, but the fact that it controls the real mouse position is problematic, because it prevents user interaction with other tools (debugger or anything) while running. Cross platform would be nice, but either windows or os x is fine. Python would be ideal but anything that you could create python bindings for would be ok too.

  I'm writing a web based application that will have its own authorization/authentication mechanism (traditional cookie/session based user/pass). However, depending on the organization that licenses the software, I want them to be able to plug in their own existing internal authentication system as a way to replace mine. Ideally, they'd have to run as little code as possible on their end; I'm trying to make this a mostly hosted service. I'm aware of the existence of OAuth, but don't entirely understand how I would go about implementing the system at a higher level. Any tips would be appreciated.

  I was reading the article Double-checked locking and the Singleton pattern, on how double checked locking is broken, and some related questions here on stackoverflow. I have used this pattern/idiom several times without any issues. Since I have been using Java 5, my first thought was that this has been rectified in Java 5 memory model. However the article says This article refers to the Java Memory Model before it was revised for Java 5.0; statements about memory ordering may no longer be correct. However, the double-checked locking idiom is still broken under the new memory model. I'm wondering if anyone has actually run into this problem in any application and under what conditions.

  I need to setup some 301 permanent redirects in the web.config of an ASP.NET MVC application running under IIS. The easiest way is to add a tag similar to the one below to the web.config file: <location path="TheMenu.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="menus/" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> When I go to the site at http://domain.com/TheMenu.aspx it redirects me to http://domain.com/menusxd instead of http://domain.com/menus What would be causing this?   When a third party dependency attempts to load a class defined in a Play application using Class.forName(className, true, Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader()); Play will throw a ClassNotFoundException because the context class loader is of type PlayDependencyClassLoader which apparently only contains classes defined in jar dependencies. Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: eventstore.Commit at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo.classForName(SerializerPojo.java:96) at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo$1.deserialize(SerializerPojo.java:74) at org.mapdb.SerializerPojo$1.deserialize(SerializerPojo.java:39) This only occurs when Play is started with play run. Starting Play with play start loads the class correctly. It would be a shame to sacrifice the class hot-swapping because of this behavior. Is there a known workaround?

• Application compiled by Flex Builder 3 does not trace

  I've built a simple application in Flex Builder 3 with some trace() calls. It's an "ActionScript Project", no MXML or AIR involved. I don't run the app from within Eclipse, I just open the generated html file with Firefox. I'm using the Flash Player 10 Debug version. I've correctly set mm.cnf to log trace output, following the official instructions. A flashlog.txt file is generate in the appropriate location. Despite all that, trace output is not shown in the log file. What am I doing wrong? (I suspect it's a compiler option, but I can find no such option in the project options in FlexBuilder) (If I do run the app from Eclipse, by pressing F11, I can see trace output but only inside Eclipse, not in the log file)

I also want to play sound after clicking some button action without stop the previous background sound.But when i click the other button that time background sound is stop and start again after time intereval ( 9.0 sec ) which i mention for repeated the sound time line. If anyone do this work then help me to complete my application.

  I'm not a .NET developer, and I have a feeling this would be trivial for someone who is: I have a C# web application that makes user of the user credentials of the logged in user. Currently it uses the SID which comes from System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().User.Value I need to get either the users UPN login or email address (as defined in active directory) instead of the SID. GetCurrent() returns an object of type WindowsIdentity; looking in the details for WindowsIdentity Members: MSDN: WindowsIdentity Members I can't see anything that looks like it would give me either the UPN or email in there. How can I pull up that information to use, either by feeding the SID into some other function or calling something different in the first place.

• Memory Profiling: How to detect which application/package is consuming too much memory

  Hi, I have a situation here at work where we run a JEE server with several applications deployed on it. Lately, we've been having frequent OutOfMemoryException's. We suspect some of the apps might be behaving badly, maybe leaking, or something. The problem is, we can't really tell which one. We have run some memory profilers (like YourKit), and they're pretty good at telling what classes use the most memory. But they don't show relationships between classes, so that leaves us with a situation like this: We see that there are, say, lots of Strings and int arrays and HashMap entries, but we can't really tell which application or package they come from. Is there a way of knowing where these objects come from, so we can try to pinpoint the packages (or apps) that are allocating the most memory? Thank you in advance.

  Is there any way to suppress the default js and css loaded by application.html.erb on a view by view basis? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to manage a global css and js includes configuration when certain views need different js libraries that for some reason seem to be conflicting with one another. For example, I might want jquery 1.3 for one view and 1.4.2 for another. I don't necessarily want to have to have an include for every view (I do want to have a global site-wide default), but I would also like to be able to override those for any view I want. Thanks!

• Application crash when using an NSTimer and pushViewController

  I'm using an NSTimer to implement a 3 seconds splash screen. If a don't use a timer the view it's correctly pushed but if I use the timer for adding a little delay the application crash with a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. • Verifying the purchaser of an App Store application

  Is there a way for the developer of an App Store application to tie a sale to an individual user/device ID/Apple account? In other words, a method for the developer to double-check that a specific user has legally purchased the software? I haven't been able to find a reliable answer to this yet. I'm not looking for specific code examples, just some sort of idea as to how possible (or difficult) this is. My intent isn't to penalize piracy; it's to be able to provide additional benefits to paid customers. As such, I'm not looking for a way to identify a cracked or pirated version, which I gather has already been solved. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
