• Wrapping variable width text in emacs lisp

  I am hacking up a tagging application for emacs. I have got a tag cloud/weighted list successfully displaying on a buffer, but i am running into a snag. I need to be able to properly word-wrap the buffer, but I haven't a clue where to start. The font I am using is a variable width font. On top of that, each tag is going to be in a different size, depending on how many times it shows up on the buffer. Finally, the window that displays the tagcloud could be in a window that is 200 pixels wide, or the full screen width. I really have no idea where to start.   I have been programming a little AHCI driver for two weeks. I have read this article and Intel's Serial ATA Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) 1.3. There is an example, which shows how to read sectors via DMA mode (osdev.org). I have done this operation (ATA_CMD_READ_DMA 0xC8) successfully, but when i tried to write sectors (ATA_CMD_WRITE_DMA 0xCA) to the device, the HBA set the error Offset 30h: PxSERR – Port x Serial ATA Error - Handshake Error (this is decoding from Intel AHCI specification). I don't understand why it happened. Please, help me. In addition, I have tried to issue the command IDENTIFY 0xEC, but not successfully...

• Using IVMRWindowlessControl to display video in a Winforms Control and allow for full screen toggle

  I've recently switched from using the IVideoWindow interface to IVMRWindowlessControl in my custom Winforms control to display video. The reason for this was to allow zoom capabilities on the video within the control. However in switching over, I've found that the FullScreen mode from IVideoWindow is not available and I am currently trying to replicate this using the SetVideoWindow() method. I'm finding that I size the video in my control to be at the same resolution as the screen however I can't get the control to position itself to the top/left of the screen and become the top most window. Any ideas on how to achieve this since the IVideoWindow::put_FullScreenMode just did it all for you?

• LocalReport (WebForms) and Partial Trust, for PDF Generation

  My goal is to generate a PDF for display in a web page, either as aspx or with a generic handler. (This will link from a Silverlight page, but this is irrelevant to the problem.) The problem is that LocalReport (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms; Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll) requires full trust, and our hosting server does not allow full trust. I am aware that ReportViewer has a remote mode that will allow it to run with partial trust, but for that I need a report server url which should probably have full trust as well, which does not solve anything. So how do I generate PDFs from WebForms in a partially trusted environment?

  We're developing applications for AppExchange and are trying to figure out the best way to do development and release management. There are several issues around this: 1) Package Prefixes. We are developing code in unmanaged mode and releasing as managed, so we have to add all the package prefixes into the code. Is there a way to do this dynamically at runtime? Right now we're using an Ant script, which stops us benefitting from the force.com IDE plugin. 2) Resource files... We are doing some ajax-ey stuff and as a result have a few different resource files we upload, some of which are multiple file resources (zip files). Has anyone automated the building of these resources using ANT, and does that work well? Our environment seems very fragile and works for some developers and not others; have other people had this problem? How did you resolve it?

• C# SerialPort.GetPortNames() behavior

  In my C# 2008 application, I use the SerialPort.GetPortNames() function to retrieve the list of currently available ports. What I have noticed is, when ever I plug in a USB device, it's port number i s shown in the list on my Application and when I unplug it and refresh the list, the port number is no longer there. One phase of the application involves reading/writing data from/to the device continuously. Now, my expectation is, If I unplug the device during the operation and get the current Port list using SerialPort.GetPortNames(), the Port Name will not be there and I can use that to make the decision that the device has been unplugged. To my surprise, the Port name is still found despite having it removed Why is the program behaving like this? The port name isn't listed when in no-communication mode. Does it have something to do with the device being removed when it's communicating?

• Ajax Enabled WCF Service Javascript issue...

  I'm a noob working with Ajax-Enabled WCF Services... Right now I have an AJAX service which calls a different WCF service that is using wsHttpBinding. The WCF wsHttpBinding service lives in a different web app on the same IIS6 server. The AJAX javascript proxy is only created when I enable anonymous access on the app hosting the AJAX service. If I remove anonymous access, IE6 bombs with an 'Undefined' error when call the AJAX proxy. In a nut shell, my AJAX service sends a request back to IIS (same domain/app), and while on the server it sends a WCF service request for data on a different app on the same IIS server. The service returning data is setup with Windows authentication, wsHttpBinding, and security mode is set to message. Any ideas? Both apps have are using windows authentication.

  Hi all, I am trying to find a way to get the Property to which a control is bound (in c#). If I have the following: <dxe:ComboBoxEdit DisplayMember="Name" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=NameOptions, Mode=OneTime}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Name, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" /> I am now trying to get the location to which the SelectedItem is bound to, i.e. the result should be "Name". Then in code I need to do some stuff with that ViewModel Property. Issue is that I can't just hard code this as it is a generic method that needs to work with each control on the form. • Oracle 10g express home page is not coming up

  Hello All: My Oracle 10g Express Edition , I can login in the SQL plus but I cannot login into oracle via SQL developer and cannot view the Home page at link http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex. This was working fine until yesterday. I have checked via (WINDOWS)netstat -ab and no other app is using the 8080 port. The only thing I did today was I changed my SQL server 2005 Developer edition from Windows authentication to Mixed Mode authentication. Can anyone let me know how to get the Oracle Web page and the SQL Developer to work. I will gratly appreciate that. Thanks! Adnan A.

• Subview position issue after UIOrientation (rotation) change

  I have a viewController and have added a subview in it programatically. secondView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; [self.view addSubview:secondView]; I guess when the device rotates, my mainViewController knows that orientation changed, but the subview (secondView) inside the mainViewController does not know this, so I change its frame to landscape size in willRotateToInterfaceOrientation. secondView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480 , 260); This does not set in the correct position, it's 11 px below the NavigationBar. Why does it start from 11 px below the navigation bar? The navigation bar shrinks when we move from portrait to landscape mode and its because of this that my subview is 11px below.

  Hello - I'm looking for some feedback, blog links, etc that offer some tips and tricks for iPhone GPS development. I've read and understand the API, I have my demo app up and running, etc but I have run into some "quirks" with gps on iphone. For example, it seems that you you will receive a lot less location updates when your iphone enters "power save" mode. I've read that you can combat this by playing music in your application [not sure if this is true]. It also seems that, terms of making a reasonable pedometer, you should filter out any reading with horizontal accuracies less than 20 meters. Does this sound right? Is there any kind of checklist out on the web for iphone gps gotchas? Thanks in advance.

I have read of someone running, production-wise, Google app engine development version on their own server. My questions are: Are there any security issues running GAE development on your own server in production mode and exposing it to the www? If so how to mitigate them? Can GAE dev be run on Amazon? Is it possible to port my GAE apps running on Google servers to a GAE running on Amazon, without code changes, but without changing any reference in using other gdata services such as google docs, youtube, gmail, etc. How to configure GAE dev server to use my own hadoop? Or to use Amazon's hadoop?

• Table image not showing, "Pop an autorelease pool" error

  Hello, I'm working with OpenCV on a beagleboard with ubuntu and OpenCV 1.1 interfaced via Python. I'm trying to set something up to capture a feed from a UVC compatible webcam (logitech C250). I have tested the webcam with luvcview and it works but only if I set the input format to YUV. If I run it in 'normal' mode I am getting back jpeg frames and something - somewhere is not happy! I'm trying to connect with the webcam in OpenCV as I want to get the image back from the webcam and run some analysis on it. As I have a limited device this seems to be the most efficient way of doing it - however I need to instruct the capturing system to capture in YUV and not jpeg. Is there a way of doing this (for example luvcview allow me to enter luvcview -f YUVY)? Cheers, Neil

  hi, i am trying to find ways to sanitize the input of wmd editor Specifically, I am trying to make HTML tags only available in the <code>tags that wmd generates. Is that possible My problem is that the following code is rendered as html which is vunerable to potential xss attacks e.g. <a onmouseover="alert(1)" href="#">read this!</a> The above code renders normally both in preview mode and when saved to the db. I notice that SO doesnt seem to have this problem. The same code is just rendered as text.   I have a project in which I'd like to use some of the .NET 4.0 features but a core requirement is that I can use the System.Data.SQLite framework which is compiled against 2.X. I see mention of this being possible such as the accepted answer here but I don't see how to actually achieve this. When I just try and run my 4.0 project while referencing the 2.X assembly I get: Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information. What "additional configuration" is necessary?

Is there a way to refernce and bind to result variable or do I need to create a new collection and then add the return of result to the new collection? thank you

• Why does Joomla debug show 446 queries logged and 446 legacy queries logged?

  I have been called in to fix the performance of a Joomla site that was already setup. I look at the debug output and it shows the same queries twice, once for queries logged and again for legacy queries logged. My guess is that it is actually running the same queries twice make for just under 900 queries per page (hope I am wrong) The Legacy plugin is disabled, so Legacy mode is not on at all. The site uses VirtueMart as well (which BTW isn't working properly if the cache in the Global Config is turned on) Besides the fact that I don't think it should be running 446 queries anyway (sometimes even up to 650 per page ), has anyone every experienced this issue, and where would I look to fix this. • Different result with reverse proxy apache and lighttpd.

  I have an Apache server running in reverse proxy mode in front of a Tomcat java server. It handle HTTP and HTTPS and send those request back and forth to the Tomcat server on an internal HTTP port. I'm trying to replace the reverse proxy with Lighttpd. Here's the problem: while asking for the same HTTPS url, while using Apache as the reverse proxy, the Tomcat server redirect (302) to an HTTPS page but with Lighttpd it redirect to the same page in HTTP (not HTTPS). What does Lighttpd could do different in order to have a different result from the backend server? In theory, using Apache or Lighttpd server as a reverse proxy should not change anything... but it does. Any idea? I'll try to find something by sniffing the traffic on the backend tomcat server.

• Wrapping a C# service in a console app to debug it.

  I want to debug a service written in C# and the old fashioned way is just too long. I have to stop the service, start my application that uses the service in debug mode (Visual studio 2008), start the service, attach to the service process and then navigate in my Asp.Net application to trigger the service. I basically have the service running in the background, waiting for a task. The web application will trigger a task to be picked up by the service. What I would like to do is to have a console application that fires the service in an effort for me to debug. Is there any simple demo that anybody knows about? Thank you Jack

• Vertex Buffer Object not drawing in SDL window

  I'm just using the opengl SDL template with Xcode, and everything runs fine. I removed the Atlantis code, and changed the main extension to .mm, then added some testing code to drawGL. Drawing a simple triangle (using immediate mode) at this point inside drawGL gives me a white triangle, but when I add the code to draw using a vertex buffer object, i just get a black window.
