  I'm trying to get a grip of OS X (SL), but haven't yet found a keyboard shortcut to switch windows of a single application, say, Safari. I can hit F10 and select the right window from there but it feels unnecessarily complicated - and needs a mouse. So, is there a shortcut to switch windows of a single application?

• Windows XP x64 virtual machine (VMWare ESX) using only 2 CPUs (out of 4)

  I just converted a physical Windows XP x64 machine with 4 CPUs to a VMWare virtual machine with 4CPUs (on a ESX server) using the VMWare Standalone Converter. Everything worked just great, except that the OS now seems to use only 2 CPUs (when 4 are installed, see the following image). This must be a Windows XP issue rather than a VMWare issue, but I can not really rule out any reason at this stage. What can I do?

  I'm running Ubuntu on an Oracle VirtualBox virtual machine. I clicked the "install Ubuntu" button, and it took me through a wizard. I am currently on the following step: Unfortunately, the "forward" button is disabled. What's up with this? I tried entering different data for the form on this step, going back and redoing part of the wizard, and rebooting the machine. Nothing worked. My host OS is Windows 7.

• TightVNC server not getting right-clicks from Mac Screen Sharing/VNC client?

  I am using Apple's Screen Sharing client in OS X 10.6.2, to connect to TightVNC running on Win XP. But TightVNC is not receiving right-clicks. Scaling is on, and everything else is working fine. I do not think it is a problem with the server because a friend was over and was able to send right-clicks to my server using a RealVNC client.

I own both, and my hard drive died in my Vista computer, so I ran out, bought another one and now need to re-install my OS. However, the computer came with it, and didn't come with a disk (Thanks Acer!) So, is there a place I can download an ISO of my Windows that ISN'T illegaly activated? The only thing I'm able to do is open the task manager ad kill the application that suddenly restart. • Losing connection to server from several computers

  I have a PostgreSQL server running Oracle Linux. In my network I have several workstations each running different OS (Fedora, Ubuntu, Windows). Every once in a while I lose connection from the several workstations to the server while other workstations can connect with no problem. • When RAID 10 is SLOWER than RAID 1, why?

  We have a Dell 2950 with PERC and 14 external SAS 15K 73GB drives. An Oracle database job takes 3 hours to run with the drives set as hardware RAID 10 (striped across 7 mirrored pairs). The same job with the drives in RAID 1 takes only 1 hour. OS is Win 2008 R2 I think. Before we change the RAID level (with considerable downtime) on the production box, does anyone know why we're seeing this odd result, and if there's a better way to fix it?

• Decreasing cached memory and increasing Free memory in RAM

  Hi, Im using windows 2007 server 64 bit OS, I've uploaded the snap shot of my task manager when minimum processes running It shows Total memory 8190 mb *Cached memory 4315 mb* Free 3402 mb So effectively I get only 3402 mb of total RAM usage My question here is more than half is used for cached memory is there any means I can decrease this cached memory inturn I can increase my free memory.   My OS is Windows XP SP3. This message sometimes comes up when I am shutting the computer down: The instruction at 0x00000000 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. • Are there any web-based Linux image builders that allow selection of preinstalled packages?

  I know of one: The Angstrom Linux distribution has an online builder (called Narcissus) that allows you to select what applications you want preinstalled in the OS, then builds a working image of it for you to download and run from a flash drive. Is there anything like that for more popular distributions like Red Hat, Fedora, Ubuntu, or Debian? I think this would be particularly useful for virtual appliances and server deployment.
