    Ok, so I've read both PEP 8 and PEP 257, and I've written lots of docstrings for functions and classes, but I'm a little unsure about what should go in a module docstring. I figured, at a minimum, it should document the functions and classes that the module exports, but I've also seen a few modules that list author names, copyright information, etc. Does anyone have an example of how a good python docstring should be structured?

  • CouchDB: accessing nested structutes in map function

    I have a document based on a xml structure that I have stored in a CouchDB database. Some of the keys contains namespaces and are on the form "namespace:key": {"mykey":{nested:key":"nested value"}} In the map function, I want to emit the nested value as a key, but the colon inside the name makes it hard... emit(doc.mykey.nested:key, doc) <-- will not work. Does anyone know how this can be solved?

The like button is below that(in a div which can scroll) My problem is when the page is scroll down the like button comes on top of the fixed div(blue color).I want to scroll it from the backside of the div.How can I do that?   • Force Normal View when generating Word doc via HTML

    I am creating an HTML document which we are then pushing out to MS Word using a "application/msword" content type. This works so far except that the files open in Word with Web View. Once Normal View is selected all works fine. Is there any way to force Word to open with Normal View instead of Web View?

  • Cant get description rss tag data with javascript

    I'm currently making a widget to take and display items from a feed. I have this working for the most part, but for some reason the data within the tag within the item comes back as empty, but I get the data in the and tags no problem. feed is and xmlhttp.responseXML object. var items = feed.getElementsByTagName("item"); for (var i=0; i<10; i++){ container = document.getElementById('list'); new_element = document.createElement('li'); title = items[i].getElementsByTagName("title")[0].firstChild.nodeValue; link = items[i].getElementsByTagName("link")[0].firstChild.nodeValue; alert(items[i].getElementsByTagName("description")[0].firstChild.nodeValue); new_element.innerHTML = "<a href=\""+link+"\">"+title+"</a> "; container.insertBefore(new_element, container.firstChild); } I have no idea why it wouldn't be working for the tag and would be for the other tags.   • Observing social web behavior: to log or populate databases?

    When considering social web app architecture, is it a better approach to document user social patterns in a database or in logs? I thought for sure that behavior, actions, events would be strictly database stored but I noticed that some of the larger social sites out there also track a lot by logging what happens. Is it good practice to store prominent data about users in a database and since thousands of user actions can be spawned easily, should they be simply logged?
