• ASP.Net MVC Web App not running

  Hi, I developed an ASP.Net MVC v1 web application and it ran fine on our server. The client wanted to move to another server, and the site does not run on the new host's server. The new server specs: Windows 2008 ASP.Net Framework v4 ASP.Net MVC 2 (afaik its included with .Net v4) IIS 7.5 (afaik) Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. My understanding is that it should be backwards compatible. Is the app really trying to run in ASP.Net MVC v1 when v2 is available? I have already tried deploying the MVC .dlls to the Bin folder, but it did not work. I also tried changing all the system.Web.Mvc Version values (in the web.config for the web app) from 1.0.0.0 to 2.0.0.0, which also did not work. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

• Why my WCF Service returns xml serialized objects?

  Hi, I'm new here and I hope anyonte can help me. I have WCF Service and Windows Forms working with this client written in VB.NET. The Service class started to return xml serialized objects, but all my classes on Service side are DataContract-s and the service class is DataContractFormat. I googled everywhere about serializations and I couldn't find reason why it started to do that. I checked my classes and service, app.config file, but I couldn't find anything. I checked Reference.vb class, and it's System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute everywhere. The question may seem dummy, but I really don't know what to do. I just want to know what can cause the service to act like that. Thank you.

• How do I track a branch of another repository on the same machine?

  I have two private repositories on one machine. Let's call them repo-A and repo-B, which are the directories ~/repo-A and ~/repo-B, respectively. repo-A has two relevant branches: master and live. I'd like to set up repo-B to track repo-A's live branch, so that git pull will pull any updates from repo-A's live branch into repo-B's master branch. Right now, I have the following in repo-B's .git/config: [remote "origin"] url = /home/stutzbach/repo-A/ fetch = +refs/heads/live:refs/remotes/origin/live [branch "master"] remote = origin merge = refs/heads/master However, when I run git pull, it seems to pull from repo-A's master branch. Obviously, I don't have it set up right. What's the right way?

• SQL Not Exists in this Query - is it possible

  This is my script - it simply looks for the image file associated to a person record. Now the error will display if there is NO .jpg evident when the query runs. Msg 4860, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot bulk load. The file "C:\Dev\ClientServices\Defence\RAN\Shore\Config\Photos\002054.2009469432270600.001.jpg" does not exist. Is there a way to write this query to 'IF not exists then set id_number = '002054.2009469432270427.001' - so it wil always display this photo for any records without a picture. • Use a ContextLoaderListener in accordance with DispatchServlet

  I want to use both ContextLoaderListener (so that I can pass Spring Beans to my servlet) as well as DispatchServlet (Spring MVC). However, currently I have to pass init param to these both class initializer: <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/spring/app-config.xml </param-value> So, I use the same xml for these both classes. Wonder if it would lead to my beans being initialized twice? If yes, how would I do to avoid that?

• qmake translations doesn't seem to work

  I have a Qt app with a Czech translation. I can get my translation compiled and installed fine with the following code. But when I run the app, translation doesn't work. What am I missing? I even tried to chmod 644 to change the permissions of the translation file, but it didn't work either. Thanks in advance. • What's causing “Session state has created a session id, but cannot save it because the response was

  I'm getting this fault intermittently. I found this link which summarises fairly well what I was able to find on the Google: http://www.wacdesigns.com/2009/02/03/session-state-has-created-a-session-id-but-cannot-save-it-because-the-response-was-already-flushed-by-the-application/ Basically it says you can try setting the web config setting DisplayWhenNewSession, or try kicking the session state thing into life by getting the Session.SessionID in the Session_OnStart. But does anyone: a) have an explanation for this or even better, b) have a tried and tested fix I realise that I can't flush the response after doing anything that would affect the http response header. If I did this it would cause an error every time but this is intermittent. The SessionID should surely be created by ASP.NET at the beginning of the page response automatically, before anything in the ASPX page or the Page_Load (which is where all my flushes are called).

• Best practice for passing configuration to each GUI object

  Hi, I am writing an application, where I do have few different windows implemented, where each window is a separate class. Now I need somehow to pass a single configuration object to all of them. My GUI is designed in way, where I have one main window, which may create some child windows of its own, and these child windows can have their own childs (so there is no possibility to create all windows in initialization part and feed the config object to all of them from the very beginning)... What would be best practice for sharing this configuration object between them? Always passing via constructor or maybe making it somewhere as final public static and let each window object to access it when needed? Thanks

  I would like to nginx to serve a static file from website root ( : http://localhost:8080/ ) but it serves my proxy pass; it serves "/" rule instead of "= /". • Symfony 2 - UrlGenerator::doGenerate is called before listener

  I want to add to the context a parameter, so when login is called I can use it in the route (similar to _locale). I can add this piece of code in HttpUtils.php (as resetLocale), but i don't find it very clean. The reason I need it is the firewall redirection to the login controller, which I would like to have in its route a customized parameter. My problem is that my listener is called after UrlGenerator::doGenerate is called, so I get a MissingMandatoryParametersException. • Can you pass _POST variables from 1 server to another?

  I have a web form on an IIS server (has no PHP). I have a PHP script on a LAMP server. My _POST var array is coming up empty on the LAMP server. My suspicion is I cannot pass POST vars from 1 server to another but I would like to have that confirmed. Does anyone know the answer to this? If that's the case then I know I need to with use _GET vars in the URL's Query String or set a cookie (which I can do because both servers are config'd with the domain name). Thanks for your help.

• Getting camera preview data without using a preview callback

  I have an app that does some processing to camera preview frames before displaying them to the user. I'm currently using preview callbacks to access the image data, but the problem I have is that the onPreviewFrame() function stops getting called if you start recording video using a MediaRecorder, and I want the processing to continue when video is being recorded. I've tried doing the following: public static Bitmap convertViewToBitmap(View view) { Bitmap bitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(view.getWidth(),view.getHeight(), Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888); view.draw(new Canvas(bitmap)); return bitmap; } to convert the preview surface to a bitmap, but when I pass the preview SurfaceView to the function it returns an all-black bitmap (it works when I test it on normal views though). Is there any other way I can access the image data if preview callbacks are not available?

  I have a Marketing service running locally through port 49481 and through IIS on port 65000. Either way when I try to debug into that service, I get an error message - {"There was no endpoint listening at http:/localhost:49481/Marketing.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details."} My inner exception is - {"The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."} I can open that service address, http:/localhost:49481/Marketing.svc, through a browser and I get a message that it's running ok. My config file is set up like - <endpoint address="http://localhost:49481/Marketing.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IMarketing" contract="SunriseMarketing.IMarketing" name="BasicHttpBinding_IMarketing" /> What am I missing?

• Why doesn't my Perl script start under FastCGI?

  I am getting this error in error_log one of my Perl CGI application. I am pretty sure I haven't changed my script at all and all of a sudden i have started getting this error. This is what I see in error_log: [Wed Jul 8 15:18:20 2009] [warn] FastCGI: server "/local/web/test/cgi-bin/test.pl" (pid 17033) terminated by calling exit with status '255' [Wed Jul 8 15:18:20 2009] [warn] FastCGI: server "/local/web/test/cgi-bin/test.pl" has failed to remain running for 30 seconds given 3 attempts, its restart interval has been backed off to 600 seconds (The snippet was edited for clarity) Also, the AddHandler line for FastCGI exists in the config file. Can any tell me the possible reasons for this error? There is nothing recorded in Apache logs.

This work for '/index' and '/login' paths. But I'm getting 404 response for '/static/login' when invoked from the browser. I'm expecting that '/static/login/' and '/login' should behave the same. What could be wrong here? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

When I view the website in browser, I get the server not found error. I debugged the EfDbContext class and found that the Database.Connection.ConnectionString is set to \SqlExpress with database as EfDbContext. Why is that?

• Cannot find libmysqlclient under /usr. while build PHP 5.2 from source on Ubuntu 12.4

  I was trying to build PHP 5.2.17 from source on Ubuntu 12.4 64bit using this configuration: ./configure --prefix=/opt/php5.2 --with-config-file-path=/opt/php5.2 --with-mysql but I keep getting this error: configure: error: Cannot find libmysqlclient under /usr. Note that the MySQL client library is not bundled anymore! I suspected that dev package for mysql is not installed so tried installing libmysqlclient-dev but it was already there. Any Idea how to resolve this? EDIT1: I minimized the configure command so it just focuses to mysql. also I'm running a 64bit version of ubuntu. EDIT2: tried running ldconfig -v |grep mysql and here is the output # ldconfig -v |grep mysql /sbin/ldconfig.real: Path `/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu' given more than once /sbin/ldconfig.real: Path `/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu' given more than once /sbin/ldconfig.real: Cannot stat /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnss_db.so: No such file or directory libmysqlclient.so.18 -> libmysqlclient_r.so.18.0.0 libmysqlpp.so.3 -> libmysqlpp.so.3.1.0

  I have problem when asking for default ILogger from Unity container. I have this setting defined in code (its VB.net) Dim container As IUnityContainer ... container.RegisterType(Of ILogger, NullLogger)() container.RegisterType(Of ILogger, EntLibLogger)("EL") When I am getting ILogger from container I may have different name, like: Ioc.Resolve(Of ILogger)("MyLogger") However this raises error as the mapping is not set for 'MyLogger'.   In an effort to keep us from being labeled spammers by major ISPs (in addition to SPF records, privacy policies, CANSPAM compliance and the like) - I wanted to limit the amount of mail we send out an hour. Is this possible in W2K3 SMTP server? I was looking at outbound connection properties in the SMTP virtual server config screens...It's just not that clear if tinkering with those settings are going to do what I want. In a nutshell, I'd love mail being sent by this server to queue up and send for example, 5,000 messages every 10 minutes or so. Is this possible?

• How do I do a fresh install of Google App Engine?

  I've been using GAE for months now, but very recently I've had difficulty getting the latest release (1.3.4) to work for me. I'd like to remove GAE and start from scratch and reinstall it. However, it appears that deleting the googleappenginelauncher.app is not enough to completely remove it, because when I install the launcher again I see that it remembers the applications it was running previously (so at a minimum, there are some config files out there that I'm not removing properly). I'm new to Macs, so if there are other things I need to do besides deleting the .app, please let me know. Thanks for your help!

Everytime I run the application, it says "No settings stored !". It's scope is user.
