• Java stop MIDI playback

  Hi I have java application which plays midi messages from sequence. I'm doing this using jfugue library. the problem is when I'm tryingto stop playback with stop button (which call sequencer.stop() and sequencer.close()) the last played note is sound all of rest time, and I can't stop it. So I'm asking about solution about stopping all audio and MIDI too! sound playback from java application. Notice: If you want propose just mute volume, you need to know that I want end-use will be able to press play button again and hear the sound again, so muting volumr will be not a solution, or explain please. Thank you!

Finally 1 Exiting out of the program I do not understand why IOException is caught by the outer catch block. I would appreciate if anyone can explain this, especially by citing stack unwinding process

• Screen orientation change forces data re-entry

  I'm developing a simple app, only a handful of activities and nothing to complicated. The issue I'm having is that in a few of my activities I have EditText widgets, and when the screen is rotated, these widgets loose their values. They still visually, that is, on the handset screen, report their values from before the rotation, but to the code report their default values. An example, I have an activity with an EditText, I enter a number, 15, the calculator starts calculating, displays a result. If at this point I rotate to a different orientation, as expected the activity dies, reloads, shows the new orientation, my value of 15 is still in the EditText, however the calculator (the code) calculates as if it was 0, which is the initial value. I have not tried changing the initial value to see if it is really pulling from the default value, or just setting itself to 0 when I cast it as an int. If I didn't explain this well enough, let me know, I can add source code if I need to. Thanks.

• List in a Python class shares the same object over 2 different instances?

  I created a class: class A: aList = [] now I have function that instantiate this class and add items into the aList. note: there are 2 items for item in items: a = A(); a.aList.append(item); I find that the first A and the second A object has the same number of items in their aList. I would expect that the first A object will have the first item in its list and the second A object will have the second item in its aList. Can anyone explain how this happens ? PS: I manage to solve this problem by moving the aList inside a constructor : def __init__(self): self.aList = []; but I am still curious about this behavior

• Infinite recursion trying to check all elements of a TreeCtrl

  I have a TreeCtrl in which more than one Item can be assigned the same object as PyData. When the object is updated, I want to update all of the items in the tree which have that object as their PyData. I thought the following code would solve the problem quite neatly, but for some reason the logical test (current != self.GetFirstVisibleItem()) always returns true leading to infinite recursion. • Weird behavior in referring to global variable. Is this a bug in javascript? Surely it isn't!

  Consider the following piece of code. <html> <body> <script> var x = 5; //globally declared function showX() { alert("x="+x); //trying to display global value var x=10; //trying to create and initialize a local x } </script> <input type = "button" value="Show X" onclick="showX()"> </body> </html> The alert statement shows 'x=undefined'. And doesn't print the global value of x as expected. An equivalent java code would display 5! So, is it a bug? If not then how does one explain that behavior?

  I have the following code: <map title="Authoring Guide"> <topicref href="topics/front-matter.xml"/> <topichead navtitle="My TopicHead"> <topicref href="topics/who-should-use.xml"/> </topichead> ... When the PDF is generated using oXygen editor with the PDF Legacy plugin, the topichead element is completely ignored, yet the nested topicref is in the PDF. Can anyone explain why a topichead might be ignored in processing? thanks!!

• jquery mouseleave issue when moving too slow

  Hello. I am using the jQuery mouseenter and mouseleave events to slide a div down and up. Everything works well except for the mouseleave which doesn't appear to fire ONLY if the mouse of moved off of the div quite slowly. If i move the mouse at a relatively normal or fast speed then it works as expected. Can anyone explain this or provide any info on how to get around this? Overloading on return type is not possible right? Would somebody please explain what's going on here?

  I've spent hours scouring the net for anything to do with VBA calling data from the web in excel and nothing provides a tutorial on how to do so, only complicated examples un-related to what I want to do. I want to pull data from either a .html or .xml site, doesn't matter, via Excel and find specific points in that data. I can find specific points but don't know how to get the data or scroll through multiple lines. I need to find every user (ideally the entire first line of the above) that has SYSPRV under "Default Permissions".   Hello all, I'm interested in sequentially-consistent load operation on x86. As far as I see from assembler listing, generated by compiler it is implemented as a plain load on x86, however plain loads as far as I know guaranteed to have acquire semantics, while plain stores are guaranteed to have release. Sequentially-consistent store is implemented as locked xchg, while load as plain load. That sounds strange to me, could you please explain this in details? added Just found in internet, that sequentially-consistent atomic load could be done as simple mov as long as store is done with locked xchg, but there was no prove and no links to documentation. Do you know where can I read about that? Thanks in advance.

• convert int into string with certain length of char

  If the title wasn't clear, ill try to explain it well here. I have a bunch of integers, ranging from 1 to 999, and i need to convert these into strings, but when i do that, i need them to be 3 characters long. so for instance, if i had: int i1 = 45; then when i turned that into a string, i'd need this: "045" or similarly, if i had an int of 8 then that would have to turn into "008", and if anything had 3 places, such as 143, then it would just be outputted as 143. is this easily possible? Thanks for responses in advance. :)

The idea that an element's width included the margin, border, and padding was blasphemous and an abomination to their senses. So we got away from it after thousands of internet blogs about the box-model hack. Now we get box-sizing, which will, wait for it, allow you to specify that a width contains the border, the margin, and the padding. We plaster a trendy new name for it, "CSS3 Flexbox," and now it's the freedom designers have been looking for. For those logical people who saw the box-model bug as not the bug and the W3C as the actual bug, this comes as a surprise. A reintroduction of this so-called bug and now we call it an enhancement? So can someone explain why this is different? I am honestly confused about this.

• "UserWarning: Unbuilt egg for setuptools" - What does this actually mean?

  Hiya. When I install things into a virtualenv using pip I often see the message "UserWarning: Unbuilt egg for setuptools". I always safely ignore it and go about my business and it doesn't seem to cause me any problems. But I've suddenly been smacked in the face with curiosity, and wondered if someone could explain what it means, exactly? Also, does the new virtualenv option to use distribute instead fit into all this somewhere? Should I be using that instead, or just ignoring it until distutils2 comes out? (apologies if that's totally unrelated - maybe it should be a new question?) Thanks!
