• 2 DataBase Schema's syncronization in Oracle 10G

  Hi Masters, Good Day, I am new very naive to oracle DB. I am using Oracle 10G. Let me explain to you. I have one source database named ( DB1) and Target Database named (DB2). I have 2 schema's named dbs1 and dbs2 in the source database (DB1). I have exported both the database schema in Source Database (DB1) and imported it successfully into the Target Database (DB2). Now I face a challenge in synchronizing these database schema's every time from Source DB (DB1) to Target DB (DB2). Can anyone please help in letting me know how can achieve this synchronization. • Strange postgresql behavior

  Hi can someone explain me why it works like this? = select client_id from clients_to_delete; ERROR: column "client_id" does not exist at character 8 but, when putting this inside an IN()... = select * from orders where client_id in(select client_id from clients_to_delete); it works! and select all rows in the orders table. Same when running delete/update. Why it doesn't produce an error like before? Thank you!

  At the company that I work we have a successful software product that did well but is now obsolete and unmaintainable. I am trying to explain that you need to innovate and replace this product with new offering in order to survive. I am looking for some good examples of companies that made the mistake that we are close to making - relying on one successful product way over it's normal lifetime, so I could use it as illustration when making an argument. These products need not be software, emblematic cases that illustrate well this situation but where product was not software are also appreciated.

• I just can't figure out strcat.

  I know I shouldn't be using that function, and I don't care. Last time I checked the spec for strcat, it said something along the lines of updating the first value as well as returning the same. Now, this is a really stupid question, and I want you to explain it like you're talking to a really stupid person. Why won't this work? char* foo="foo"; printf(strcat(foo,"bar")); EDIT: I don't know the difference between char[] and char*. How would I allocate a string of 255 characters? EDIT 2: OK, OK, so char[number] allocates a string of that many bytes? Makes sense. Thanks.

• MySQL - Conflicting WHERE and GROUP BY Statements

  I have a query returning the counts of some data, but I do NOT want data that has a null value in it... As an example, the code rolls stats from a clicking system into a table. SELECT sh.dropid, ... FROM subscriberhistory sh INNER JOIN subscriberhistory sh2 on sh.subid = sh2.subid WHERE sh.dropid IS NOT NULL AND sh.dropid != "" ... GROUP BY sh.dropid An example of the record set returned would look like this... 400 2 3 4 5 6 401 2 3 6 5 4 NULL 2 3 4 5 1 There are some other where clauses, and a few more selects (as I said, using the count aggregate) that are also within the query. There is also an order by statement. Again, the goal is to keep the NULL data out of the preceding record set. Could someone explain to me why this behavior is occurring and what to do to solve it.

  Hi, ok, I managed to read from xml file using NSXMLParser but now i don't know how to write to xml file. I have a xml file , say <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <user id="abcd" password="pass1"/> <user id="efg" password="pass2"/> </root> Now when a new user enters details, I want to store them in a new tag.. lets say like, the id is "hhhh" and password is"pass3" I want to add a new tag with attributes as such <user id="hhhh" password="pass3"/> to the xml file. How should I do this. Please explain in an elaborate way . I am a newbie here. Any links to tutorials or examples will be much helpful. Thanks

  Hi This is pretty hard to explain but i'll give it a shot. Working with Safari to create an extension as is now possible with Safari 5 - how would I go about getting the URL of the current page with using JavaScript and the Safari API? I would also like to be able to get a hyperlink that is selected. For instance in Safari when you right click on a hyperlink and it says open in a new tab, open in a window etc - clicking opens that hyperlink. What part of the API is used to get access to the link itself, and how does it know its a link in the first place? I hope thats clear enough. Thanks

  I am currently building my own CMS for various reasons that could take a long to explain... However i am looking for a dynamic solution to create templates for pages within the CMS and all areas must be editable via the administration area, maybe large text areas broken into multiple areas, text and image area on a page etc. Following on from the above i would like to create the following: Create a new page (selecting a pre-defined template like below) http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9872/nestedpages.png and then upon editing the page it would have created as many text editors required for each editable region or a file upload control for an image area for example. i am thinking of using nested masterpages for the design elements, just unsure the best-practice way to achieve the above (db structure etc) I somehow hope this provides enough information but are happy to answer any questions you may have. We are currently refactoring our application and we'll be stuck with 2 differents configuration file system for the time being, until all of the application flows are refactored (might take more than a year). The old one is using simple flat file in the key=value format (i.e. www.conf), while the new system will use cacheable php files (i.e. www.php). We need to replicate to www.php any config changes made in www.config. Since Apache gets restarted whenever there is a config change in www.conf, I thought it might be a good workaround solution to launch a PHP script, that would replicate the www.conf to www.php.

  Hi, I need some help with a python service. I have a service written in Python. What I need to do is to pass it some arguments. Let me give you an example to explain it a bit better. Lets say I have a service, that does nothing but writes something to a log. I'd like to write the same thing into the log several times, so I use a loop. I would like to pass the counter for the loop when I start the service, but I have no idea how. I start the service with: win32serviceutil.HandleCommandLine(WinService) I'm looking for something like win32serviceutil.HandleCommandLine(WinService,10) I don't really care how its done, as long as I can pass arguments to it. Have been trying to get this to work for the better part of the day with no luck. Also, the service isn't run directly, but is imported and then run from there.

  I tried to make sure this wasn't a duplicate post, sorry if I was blind. This is a small snippet of code taken from some of the examples that accompany the Stanford Parser. I've been developing in Java for about 4 years, but have never had a very strong understanding of what this style of code is supposed to indicate. List<? extends HasWord> wordList = toke.tokenize(); I'm not worried about the details of the code. What I'm confusing about is what exactly the generic expression is supposed to convey, in English.   I was looking at a sample of how to setup Unity IoC with MVC, and noticed someone who recommended the approach of having the parameters of Func. • Is it possible to implement a lightweight database using Blackberry Persistance options?

  First I would like to explain why I want to use alternate Blackberry Persistance options rather than a Blackberry database itself, say SQLite. The reason is that the application i'm designing, I want it to be used in all the previous versions of Blackberry rather than just the ones having OS 5.0 or greater. Now, coming back to the actual question, I have got a database that I want to replicate to be used in the Blackberry application. The database has 8 tables and each table has approximately 12 different columns. One of the table has 1000 rows. Now if I was to implement this DB for a Blackberry application , keeping in mind that it will work on all the versions of Blackberry, what would be the best way to implement it?

I define param_a as a local variable in class method my_method, puts param_a runs good, and will output the "aaa". however, puts "#{param_a}" output that error. why? Can anyone explain this?

  if getChildHtml('product_type_data') ? maps directly to catalog/product/view/type/simple.phtml by default, how do I map to my own file? If I wanted to create a file that would produce a small image to place on the product page, right under "availability" how would I tell magento to map to where I have put the file? From what I understand getChildHtml('product_type_data') ? defaults to the file path: catalog/product/view/type/simple.phtml so how can I customize the magento defaults and tell it to map to my custom files i've created? • Odd Segue Behaviour - Not Firing

  So I've noticed some very weird behaviour from my program. Here's a simplified code snippet and then I'll explain what occurs when built and ran. -(void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; ... if (self.sampleBool) { [self performSegueWithIdentifier:@"mySegue" sender:self]; } else { // do stuff } } ... -(IBAction)myMethod:(UITapGestureRecognizer*)sender { ... [self performSegueWithIdentifier:@"mySegue" sender:self]; } The segue triggers via the UITapGestureRecognizer fine - so I know the segue is linked correctly. However, when self.sampleBool is true and performSegueWithIdentifier is called within viewDidLoad, the segue does not fire. Anyone have any guesses? Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks

  Hi all, I have one site to test, when I run it with my BrowserFieldDemo (in JDE sample)m just display text site, but with the same link, run on Blackberry native browser, it displays properly, and have Zoom in function to zoom. I think the problem here is the size of my site, it's too large. I've tried some different sites and see that the result is same on two browsers, but with this test site, it's unexpected result. Anyone can suggest some solutions for me to fix it? Or explain for me how Blackberry browser can know to resize web page automatically (when it loads the large web page). Thank for any help,

  i have a current project that runs fine with a self hosted net.tcp binding if I uses the following host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMonitorService), new NetTcpBinding() {PortSharingEnabled = false }, ""); host.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexTcpBinding(), "mex"); however if I ammend to the below it fails to run with the message that there is already an endpoint on the port, can anyone explain why adding the extra properties causes it to fail? host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMonitorService), new NetTcpBinding() {PortSharingEnabled = false,ListenBacklog=1000,ReceiveTimeout=new TimeSpan(0,3,0) }, ""); host.AddServiceEndpoint(ServiceMetadataBehavior.MexContractName, MetadataExchangeBindings.CreateMexTcpBinding(), "mex"); Edit: testing confirms that the ReceiveTimeout property works Ok, as soon as I add the MaxConnections or ListenBacklog the service fails start Edit 2: this link seems to imply i ned portsharing is i want to modify these properies, not sure I am understanding it.
