  Hello Everybody I am using GWT2.0.1,when I am running web application then I get following error message on Console. after removing error from error log still same message occur as well as restarting eclipse_galileo.To solve this problem i want to restart machine.   For a button to handle event, we can add a delegate to the click property of the button: this.button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click); But in WPF contrary to Winform, you can also attach a handler http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc785480.aspx So why not do so for the button ? Is performance better in first case maybe ? • Using SoapExtensionAttributes on client side with async web methods

  Hey, I have a simple question. I implemented custom soap extension and registered it into client application configuration file. It works fine. (I would like to implement progress bar functionality like http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480520.aspx) But I don't like some thing - custom soap extension is invoked by every call of my web service. In order to fix this situation (call WS just by required methods) I implemented custom SoapExtensionAttribute like below: [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Method)] public class CustomSoapExtensionAttribute : SoapExtensionAttribute { public override int Priority { get; set; } public CustomSoapExtensionAttribute() : this (1) { } public CustomSoapExtensionAttribute(int priority) { Priority = priority; } public override Type ExtensionType { get { return typeof(CustomSoapExtension); } } } I added this attribute to required methods of web service proxy classes (and removed registration into client configuration file). My soap extension doesn't invoke when required web methods are calling. Can someone help me to solve this problem or select any other solution?   I've been trying to find a solution for ages with no success. On our app, customers submit a form and on the next page we process it. Sometimes though the data never arrives. This seems to happen for just a few of our customers. Seems to happen with IE7 and using a proxy.   I am pulling down an email which has english, chinese and japanese in the email. I was using PHP/EZComponents to do this, but a certain japanese char was just not coming through so I am switching to php imap_* funcs to see if they will work. This is what I have below, and the output I am getting. I need to decode this somehow... I know this has been well (read:overly/chaotically) documented all over the web, but I dont have time to earn a PHD in this right now. • Weird URL parse issue. (Android)

  I am attempting to parse in a URL to a KML file from maps.google.com. When I try and use this link: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=112748174025829638330.000483ad6315714cc941d&z=13&output=kml` I am unable to overlay this KML file on my MapView. If I were to take the KML file that I get from following this link and upload it to my Dropbox it will work just fine. I think there may be something about the URL from Google that it doesn't like? Link from dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1037184/Blue_original.kml Also it would be better if we could just save these KML files locally and pass them in the same way but I can't figure out a way to do this. Here is the code I am using: Intent mapIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); Uri uri1 = Uri.parse("geo:0,0?q=http://code.google.com/apis/kml/ documentation/KML_Samples.kml"); mapIntent.setData(uri1); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(mapIntent, "Test")); The URL used in this example also works. • WPF Sizing of Panels

  I'm looking for an article or overview of WPF Panel types, that explains the sizing characters of each. For example, here are the panel types: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms754152.aspx#Panels_derived_elements I've learned (by experiment) that UniformGrid can be given a fixed height, or it can be "auto" where it expands to fit available space. That is great, but what I wanted was for Uniform Grid to shrink to fit its internal content (particularly content that is provided dynamically, at run-time). I don't think it has that ability. So I'd like to know either what other Panel I could use for that purpose, or what Panel I should nest the UniformGrid inside of. But I don't just want an answer to that specific question. I want the sizing dynamics and capabilities of all the Panel types, in summary form, so I can make all these choices as needed. Online I find articles that cover only half the Panel types, and don't give as much information about sizing as I'm describing. Anyone know the link (or book) that has the info I'm seeking? p.s. Since I want the UniformGrid to shrink to the dynamic content I'm providing, I could just keep track of the total height of controls placed within, and then set the height of the UniformGrid. But it would be nice if WPF took care of this for me.

• html5 vs flash - full comparison chart anywhere?

  So since Steve Jobs said Flash sucks and implied that HTML5 can do everything Flash can without the need for a Plugin, I keep hearing those exact words from a lot of People. I would really like to have a Chart somewhere (similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_layout_engines_%28HTML5%29#Form_elements_and_attributes ) that I can just show to those people. Showing all the little things that Flash can do right now, that HTML5/Ajax/CSS is not yet even thinking about. But of course also the things that HTML5 does better. I would like to see details compared like audio playback, realtime audio processing, byte level access, bitmap data manipulation, webcam access, binary sockets, stuff in the works such as P2P technology (adobe stratus) and all the stuff I don't know about myself. Ideally with examples of what can be accomplished with, lets say Binary Sockets (such as a POP3 client) because otherwise it won't mean a lot to non-programmers since they will just say "well we can do without Binary Sockets". And ideally with some current benchmarks and some examples of websites that use this technology. I've searched the web and am surprised not to find anything. So is there such a comparison somewhere? Or does anybody want to create this and post it to Wikipedia? ;-)

  Hi all, My application supports internationalization and localization, each user can choose his preference language and the application will reflect it perfectly. the issue is when the first user selects English and the second one selects French the resource bundle for the first user will read from the French resource after refreshing his page.   I'm downloaded WIPmania's worldip table from http://www.wipmania.com/en/base/ -- the table has 3 fields and around 79k rows: startip // example: 3363110912 endip // example: 3363112063 country // example: AR (Argentina) So, lets suppose i'm in Argentina and my IP address is: 200.117.248.17 1) I use this function to convert my ip to long function ip_address_to_number($ip) { if(!$ip) { return false; } else { $ip = split('\.',$ip); return($ip[0]*16777216 + $ip[1]*65536 + $ip[2]*256 + $ip[3]); } } 2) I search for the proper country code by matching the long converted ip: $sql = 'SELECT * FROM worldip WHERE '.ip_address_to_number($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']).' BETWEEN startip AND endip'; which is equivalent to: SELECT country FROM worldip WHERE 3363174417 BETWEEN startip AND endip (benchmark: Showing rows 0 - 0 (1 total, Query took 0.2109 sec)) Now comes the real question. What if another bunch of argentinian guys also open the website and they all have these ip addresses: 200.117.248.17 200.117.233.10 200.117.241.88 200.117.159.24 Since i'm caching all the sql queries; instead of matching EACH of the ip queries in the database, would it be better (and right) just to match the 2 first sections of the ip by modifying the function like this? function ip_address_to_number($ip) { if(!$ip) { return false; } else { $ip = split('\.',$ip); return($ip[0]*16777216 + $ip[1]*65536); } } (notice that the 3rd and 4th splitted values of the IP have been removed). That way instead of querying these 4 values: 3363174417 3363170570 3363172696 3363151640 ...all i have to query is: 3363110912 (which is 200.117.0.0 converted to long). Is this right? any other ideas to optimize this process? Thanks!

• Stop IE users typing into the file upload input

  My testers have discovered that if you type free text into a file upload input then none of the buttons on the page work until that text is removed (so the page cannot be submitted). It seems that this is only possible in IE - Firefox and Chrome natively prevent text from being entered into upload input fields. I've seen solutions elsewhere which suggest hiding input and replacing it with a label / button combo, but this seems like it might cause more problems and work inconsistently across browsers. Any thoughts?

• Node.js running under IIS Express Keeps Crashing

  I recently resinstalled Windows 7 on my machine and went back to downloading and installing the tools to help me continue developing node.js windows azure web applications. I followed the instructions given on the node.js azure site: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/nodejs/ and using web installer 4.0 it says I have successfully installed these tools: Windows Azure Powershell Windows Azure SDK for Node.js - June 2012 Windows Azure SDK for .Net (VS 2012 RC) - June 2012 IIS Recommend Configuration The problem I am experiencing is that when I run the site using powershell e.g: start-azureemulator -launch it goes ahead and runs IIS Express, and after several minutes IIS Express crashes with the following information: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: iisexpress.exe Application Version: 8.0.8298.0 Application Timestamp: 4f620349 Fault Module Name: iiscore.dll Fault Module Version: 8.0.8298.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4f63b65c Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00021767 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.28 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: f66d Additional Information 2: f66d807b515d6b2dc6f28f66db769a01 Additional Information 3: 7b2f Additional Information 4: 7b2f6797d07ebc2c23f2b227e779722e I am running 2 instances each time, and both of them crash one after the other. Is anyone experiencing something similar and fix this issue ? Is their an upgrade I need to do ? I've run windows update but it says I've got all the latest updates etc. Can I tell the powershell cmdlet to use IIS 7 instead of IIS Express? I'm guessing its something to do with IIS Express on my machine. I did some hunting around and found this person here who experienced a similar problem: https://github.com/tjanczuk/iisnode/issues/149 I've got a cron job running every 1 second, to check if any website totals need to be updated.
