  • Workaround for Outlook 2007 for wrapping text around image with margin?

    As we all know, Outlook 2007 uses the Word 2007 rendering engine, causing endless grief when designing HTML email message. [Insert rant here] In particular, float, margin, and padding are - shall we say? - poorly supported. To simulate float so that text wraps around an image, apparently we can simply use: <img src="foo.png" align="right"> The issue is padding/margin. Without padding/margin, the wrapped text butts up against the image which looks goofy. One workaround is to edit the image and add transparent framing that simulates margin. Does anyone know any other workarounds?

  • Cocoa Touch: Creating and Adding Custom View

    I create a custom view in cocoa touch that is superclassed by UIView and in my main controller I initialize it and then add it as a subview to the main view, but when I add it to the main view it calls my initializer method again and causes an infinite loop. Am I going about creating my custom view wrong? I want to set a value for the same.     This is the code I am using to plot my custom pushpins on Bing Maps. I can't get the text to print on the pushpin icon which is just the default pushpin but in a different color.   • How can my controls size be NaN when it is actually shown?

    I have a Grid which contains an Image in one of its columns. The image itself does not have any Width or Height set, but its size is correctly controlled through the ColumnDefinition set. From this I would assume that the image controller actually has a Width and Height set, but when I try to bind another element to its Width and Height it doesn't work. When debugging it turns out that the value of Image.Height and Image.Width are NaN.     I'm transferring fragments of HTML via Ajax. Safari (4.0.5) reports: "Resource interpreted as other but transferred with MIME type text/html." The file name of the file I get has a .html extension. The server does set the header for this: Content-Type:text/html As I said, the content is a fragment of HTML, which is injected into the page (with jQuery). The contents of the file look like: <html> ... some valid html ... </html> What else might Safari need to see to make it interpret the received content as HTML? TIA.

  • How do you parse text in Ruby on Rails and add classes to specific parts of it?

    I am a Rails novice and I'm creating an application that I'd love some help on. The app is for social reading. It enables a user to highlight a passage from a text then have that passage saved and bolded into the view for later reading by anyone else. I have no problem creating an if statement on whether a certain string of text is in a passage but how do I add a class to that string and have a group of these passages absorbed back into the view. Any strategic advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Styling the selection color of an input type=text, possible?

    Having an input <input type="text" id="myTest" value="bla bla bla"/> and doing this (using jQuery) $('#myTest').select(); causes "bla bla bla" to be selected with default dark blue selection color. Now, is there any way I can change this color using css? css3 can change selection using for instance ::-moz-selection { background: #ffb7b7; } but this only works on text in other elements, not in html inputs. Any ideas? /T

    I have a simple text box in a WPF application. I need to know when a character was added/deleted in the text box, which character and where it was added or deleted. I thought to use the TextBox.KeyDown event, but it has some problems: I can't know where the character was added or deleted. I have no idea how to determite which character was added (from the KeyEventArgs). Any ideas? I don't care to use a completely different solution from what I thought. In addition, I've just started this project so I don't care to use Windows Forms instead of WPF if your solution requires it. Thank you.

    I've got a simple page, and in that page runs a simple jquery keypress routine to catch clicks of the numbers 1 to 9 (has to be that to pass RNIB accessibility test). And in that page is a form, which can have numbers entered as part of a postcode. http://find.talking-newspapers.co.uk/result.php?addressInput=kingston Scroll to the bottom, try typing 8 or 9 for example. The text is entered, but it also acts on the keypress. Expected, but not good. I'm aware of various things like document.getElementById, but I can't figure out how to put these together to ensure that while the cursor is in the text input box, it doesn't act out the keypress catcher.

SELECT nome_t FROM myTable WHERE nome_t ILIKE '%selectnothing%'; This is the EXPLAIN ANALYZE VERBOSE Seq Scan on myTable (cost=0.00..15259.04 rows=37 width=29) (actual time=2153.061..2153.061 rows=0 loops=1) Output: nome_t Filter: (nome_t ~~* '%selectnothing%'::text) Total runtime: 2153.116 ms myTable has around 350k rows and the table definition is something like: CREATE TABLE myTable ( nome_t text NOT NULL, ) I have an index on nome_t as stated below: CREATE INDEX idx_m_nome_t ON myTable USING btree (nome_t); Although this is clearly a good candidate for Fulltext search I would like to rule that option out for now. This query is meant to be run from a web application and currently it's taking around 2 seconds which is obviously too much; Is there anything I can do, like using other index methods, to improve the speed of this query?

When I tried $("#attachmentContainer").text() it gives out all #Attachment#, #AttachmentName# as well as #AttachmentPath#. I know I could just put #Attachment# into another span and access it directly but I was just intrigued on how to do this. Any help is much appreciated.
