  • saving values of editText in replaced fragment

    - by Eppo
    I have a 2 fragment layout, on the left fragment, i have a list of the different table names, on the right, i open up a different table depending on what is clicked on the right fragment. my intention, is that the first list item is clicked, then values will be entered on the table, next the second list item is clicked, the next table opens up and those values are entered. what would be the best way to store the values of the results entered in the editboxes, so i can process them all at once? I'm sure i can use onPause to save them all, but would that be the best way? Thanks

  • Using a Case statement within the values section of an Insert statement

    - by mattgcon
    Please forgive my ignorance and poor SQL programming skills but I am normally a basic SQL developer. I need to create a trigger off the insertion of data in one table to insert different data into another table. Within this trigger I need to insert certain data into the new table based upon values within the newly inserted data from the original table. I am totally confused on this. i thought I would be creative and use a case statement within teh Values section but it is not working. Can anyone please help me on this? (below is the code for the trigger that I have as of now) INSERT INTO dbo.WebOnlineUserPeopleDashboard ( ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, ONLINE_ROOMS_DIRECTORY, ONLINE_ROOMS_LIST, ONLINE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT, ONLINE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_DIRECTORY, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_LIST, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_MEMBERS, ONLINE_MAILINGLIST_MANAGER, ONLINE_PEOPLESEARCH_DIRECTORY ) VALUES IF (SELECT ONLINE_PEOPLE_FULL_ACCESS FROM INSERTED) = 1 BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 FROM INSERTED END ELSE IF (SELECT ONLINE_PEOPLE_FULL_ACCESS FROM INSERTED) = 0 BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 FROM INSERTED END ELSE BEGIN SELECT ONLINE_USERACCOUNT_ID, CASE --DIRECTORY WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_VIEW = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_ADD = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_UPDATE = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_PLACEMENT_DELETE = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_ROOMS_MANAGEMENT_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_FULL_ACCESS = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_FULL_ACCESS = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_VIEW = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_ADD = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_UPDATE = 0 AND ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_MEMBERS_DELETE = 0 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_DELETE = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_ADD = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_UPDATE = 1 OR ONLINE_PEOPLE_MAILING_LISTS_DELETE = 1 THEN 0 END, CASE WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_PEOPLE_SEARCH = 1 THEN 1 WHEN ONLINE_PEOPLE_PEOPLE_SEARCH = 0 THEN 0 END FROM INSERTED END END

  • Javascript Computed Values With Arrays

    - by user983969
    Jquery Each Json Values Issue This question is similar to above, but not the same before it gets marked duplicated. After realasing how to use computed values i came across another issue. In my javascript i have the following code: var incidentWizard = ['page1.html','page2.html','page3.html']; var magicWizard = ['page1.html','page2.html','page3.html']; var loadedURL = 'page1.html'; The input to this function would be (true,'incident') function(next,wizardname) { var WizSize = incidentWizard.length; wizardName = [wizardName] + 'Wizard'; var wizardPOS = jQuery.inArray(loadedURL,incidentWizard); And now i want to use the wizardname parameter to decide what array i am going to use... Loader(incidentWizard[wizardPOS],true); Ive also tried Loader([incidentWizard][wizardPOS],true); and Loader([incidentWizard][wizardPOS],true); Also the loader function just required the string value in the array at wizardPOS sorry for confusion But when trying this i always end up with the outcome... /incidentWizard I know this is something to do with using computed values but i've tried reading about them and cant seem to solve this issue. Basicly i want to use the computed value of wizardName to access an an array of that name. Please help supports, looking forward to seeing many ways to do this!

  • Reflection: take values from an unknown running alpplication

    - by Dr.Lesh
    I'm writing an application that searchs for Semaphore types in the fields of unknown classes in unknown application (passed by user). I made it using Reflection and it worked. Now I want to fill up these semaphores with values, taking them from a running instance of this unknown application. So i took the class with "main" method of this unknown application, made a newInstance, and passed it when invoking the main method to start the application: Class mainClass = getItSomeWhere(); Object instance = mainClass.newInstance(); Method mainMethod = mainClass.getDeclaredMethod("main", new Class[]{String[].class}); mainMethod.invoke(instance, new Object[]{args}); and it worked fine. Now, how can I get the semaphore values, taking them from the classes of this running application, when I only have an instance of the main class? Many thanks for the answers.

  • jQuery: How to collect values from sliders into simple object with id as keys

    - by Svish
    I have several jQuery UI Sliders and I want to collect their values. Thought it would be a simple task, but when I was going to do it I got stuck and not quite sure what to do anymore :p The object I would like to end up with should look something like this: { a: 80, b: 90, c: 20, ... } I can do it manually like this: var values = { a: $('#a').slider('value'), b: $('#b').slider('value'), c: $('#c').slider('value'), ... }; But that's a bit tedious, especially if I need to add or remove or rename. Was hoping I could do something with the map or each function or something like that, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have some clever ideas?

  • How to convert excel individual cell values to percentage change values over time

    - by cgalloway
    I have two years of excel data showing daily share prices of a particular stock. I want to change those values to show percentage change (on a daily basis) from the zero date (ie the first day of the two year period). I know that the formula for showing daily percentage change would be (second day/first day -1) and that I can click and drag on that formula to extend over the rest of the two-year time period. The formula I want would be, basically, (each day/first day-1). Is there an easy way to automate the script so I dont have to type it out 730 times?

  • Splitting Graph into distinct polygons in O(E) complexity

    - by Arthur Wulf White
    If you have seen my last question: trapped inside a Graph : Find paths along edges that do not cross any edges How do you split an entire graph into distinct shapes 'trapped' inside the graph(like the ones described in my last question) with good complexity? What I am doing now is iterating over all edges and then starting to traverse while always taking the rightmost turn. This does split the graph into distinct shapes. Then I eliminate all the excess shapes (that are repeats of previous shapes) and return the result. The complexity of this algorithm is O(E^2). I am wondering if I could do it in O(E) by removing edges I already traversed previously. My current implementation of that returns unexpected results.

  • Distinctly LINQ &ndash; Getting a Distinct List of Objects

    - by David Totzke
    Let’s say that you have a list of objects that contains duplicate items and you want to extract a subset of distinct items.  This is pretty straight forward in the trivial case where the duplicate objects are considered the same such as in the following example: List<int> ages = new List<int> { 21, 46, 46, 55, 17, 21, 55, 55 }; IEnumerable<int> distinctAges = ages.Distinct(); Console.WriteLine("Distinct ages:"); foreach (int age in distinctAges) { Console.WriteLine(age); } /* This code produces the following output: Distinct ages: 21 46 55 17 */ What if you are working with reference types instead?  Imagine a list of search results where items in the results, while unique in and of themselves, also point to a parent.  We’d like to be able to select a bunch of items in the list but then see only a distinct list of parents.  Distinct isn’t going to help us much on its own as all of the items are distinct already.  Perhaps we can create a class with just the information we are interested in like the Id and Name of the parents.  public class SelectedItem { public int ItemID { get; set; } public string DisplayName { get; set; } } We can then use LINQ to populate a list containing objects with just the information we are interested in and then get rid of the duplicates. IEnumerable<SelectedItem> list = (from item in ResultView.SelectedRows.OfType<Contract.ReceiptSelectResults>() select new SelectedItem { ItemID = item.ParentId, DisplayName = item.ParentName }) .Distinct(); Most of you will have guessed that this didn’t work.  Even though some of our objects are now duplicates, because we are working with reference types, it doesn’t matter that their properties are the same, they’re still considered unique.  What we need is a way to define equality for the Distinct() extension method. IEqualityComparer<T> Looking at the Distinct method we see that there is an overload that accepts an IEqualityComparer<T>.  We can simply create a class that implements this interface and that allows us to define equality for our SelectedItem class. public class SelectedItemComparer : IEqualityComparer<SelectedItem> { public new bool Equals(SelectedItem abc, SelectedItem def) { return abc.ItemID == def.ItemID && abc.DisplayName == def.DisplayName; } public int GetHashCode(SelectedItem obj) { string code = obj.DisplayName + obj.ItemID.ToString(); return code.GetHashCode(); } } In the Equals method we simply do whatever comparisons are necessary to determine equality and then return true or false.  Take note of the implementation of the GetHashCode method.  GetHashCode must return the same value for two different objects if our Equals method says they are equal.  Get this wrong and your comparer won’t work .  Even though the Equals method returns true, mismatched hash codes will cause the comparison to fail.  For our example, we simply build a string from the properties of the object and then call GetHashCode() on that. Now all we have to do is pass an instance of our IEqualitlyComarer<T> to Distinct and all will be well: IEnumerable<SelectedItem> list =     (from item in ResultView.SelectedRows.OfType<Contract.ReceiptSelectResults>()         select new SelectedItem { ItemID = item.dahfkp, DisplayName = item.document_code })                         .Distinct(new SelectedItemComparer());   Enjoy. • Mapping UrlEncoded POST Values in ASP.NET Web API

    - by Rick Strahl
    If there's one thing that's a bit unexpected in ASP.NET Web API, it's the limited support for mapping url encoded POST data values to simple parameters of ApiController methods. When I first looked at this I thought I was doing something wrong, because it seems mighty odd that you can bind query string values to parameters by name, but can't bind POST values to parameters in the same way. To demonstrate here's a simple example. If you have a Web API method like this:[HttpGet] public HttpResponseMessage Authenticate(string username, string password) { …} and then hit with a URL like this: http://localhost:88/samples/authenticate?Username=ricks&Password=sekrit it works just fine. The query string values are mapped to the username and password parameters of our API method. But if you now change the method to work with [HttpPost] instead like this:[HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Authenticate(string username, string password) { …} and hit it with a POST HTTP Request like this: POST http://localhost:88/samples/authenticate HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost:88 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 30 Username=ricks&Password=sekrit you'll find that while the request works, it doesn't actually receive the two string parameters. The username and password parameters are null and so the method is definitely going to fail. When I mentioned this over Twitter a few days ago I got a lot of responses back of why I'd want to do this in the first place - after all HTML Form submissions are the domain of MVC and not WebAPI which is a valid point. However, the more common use case is using POST Variables with AJAX calls. The following is quite common for passing simple values:$.post(url,{ Username: "Rick", Password: "sekrit" },function(result) {…}); but alas that doesn't work. How ASP.NET Web API handles Content Bodies Web API supports parsing content data in a variety of ways, but it does not deal with multiple posted content values. In effect you can only post a single content value to a Web API Action method. That one parameter can be very complex and you can bind it in a variety of ways, but ultimately you're tied to a single POST content value in your parameter definition. While it's possible to support multiple parameters on a POST/PUT operation, only one parameter can be mapped to the actual content - the rest have to be mapped to route values or the query string. Web API treats the whole request body as one big chunk of data that is sent to a Media Type Formatter that's responsible for de-serializing the content into whatever value the method requires. The restriction comes from async nature of Web API where the request data is read only once inside of the formatter that retrieves and deserializes it. Because it's read once, checking for content (like individual POST variables) first is not possible. However, Web API does provide a couple of ways to access the form POST data: Model Binding - object property mapping to bind POST values FormDataCollection - collection of POST keys/values ModelBinding POST Values - Binding POST data to Object Properties The recommended way to handle POST values in Web API is to use Model Binding, which maps individual urlencoded POST values to properties of a model object provided as the parameter. Model binding requires a single object as input to be bound to the POST data, with each POST key that matches a property name (including nested properties like Address.Street) being mapped and updated including automatic type conversion of simple types. This is a very nice feature - and a familiar one from MVC - that makes it very easy to have model objects mapped directly from inbound data. The obvious drawback with Model Binding is that you need a model for it to work: You have to provide a strongly typed object that can receive the data and this object has to map the inbound data. To rewrite the example above to use ModelBinding I have to create a class maps the properties that I need as parameters:public class LoginData { public string Username { get; set; } public string Password { get; set; } } and then accept the data like this in the API method:[HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Authenticate(LoginData login) { string username = login.Username; string password = login.Password; … } This works fine mapping the POST values to the properties of the login object. As a side benefit of this method definition, the method now also allows posting of JSON or XML to the same endpoint. If I change my request to send JSON like this: POST http://localhost:88/samples/authenticate HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost:88 Accept: application/jsonContent-type: application/json Content-Length: 40 {"Username":"ricks","Password":"sekrit"} it works as well and transparently, courtesy of the nice Content Negotiation features of Web API. There's nothing wrong with using Model binding and in fact it's a common practice to use (view) model object for inputs coming back from the client and mapping them into these models. But it can be  kind of a hassle if you have AJAX applications with a ton of backend hits, especially if many methods are very atomic and focused and don't effectively require a model or view. Not always do you have to pass structured data, but sometimes there are just a couple of simple response values that need to be sent back. If all you need is to pass a couple operational parameters, creating a view model object just for parameter purposes seems like overkill. Maybe you can use the query string instead (if that makes sense), but if you can't then you can often end up with a plethora of 'message objects' that serve no further  purpose than to make Model Binding work. Note that you can accept multiple parameters with ModelBinding so the following would still work:[HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Authenticate(LoginData login, string loginDomain) but only the object will be bound to POST data. As long as loginDomain comes from the querystring or route data this will work. Collecting POST values with FormDataCollection Another more dynamic approach to handle POST values is to collect POST data into a FormDataCollection. FormDataCollection is a very basic key/value collection (like FormCollection in MVC and Request.Form in ASP.NET in general) and then read the values out individually by querying each. [HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Authenticate(FormDataCollection form) { var username = form.Get("Username"); var password = form.Get("Password"); …} The downside to this approach is that it's not strongly typed, you have to handle type conversions on non-string parameters, and it gets a bit more complicated to test such as setup as you have to seed a FormDataCollection with data. On the other hand it's flexible and easy to use and especially with string parameters is easy to deal with. It's also dynamic, so if the client sends you a variety of combinations of values on which you make operating decisions, this is much easier to work with than a strongly typed object that would have to account for all possible values up front. The downside is that the code looks old school and isn't as self-documenting as a parameter list or object parameter would be. Nevertheless it's totally functionality and a viable choice for collecting POST values. What about [FromBody]? Web API also has a [FromBody] attribute that can be assigned to parameters. If you have multiple parameters on a Web API method signature you can use [FromBody] to specify which one will be parsed from the POST content. Unfortunately it's not terribly useful as it only returns content in raw format and requires a totally non-standard format ("=content") to specify your content. For more info in how FromBody works and several related issues to how POST data is mapped, you can check out Mike Stalls post: How WebAPI does Parameter Binding Not really sure where the Web API team thought [FromBody] would really be a good fit other than a down and dirty way to send a full string buffer. Extending Web API to make multiple POST Vars work? Don't think so Clearly there's no native support for multiple POST variables being mapped to parameters, which is a bit of a bummer. I know in my own work on one project my customer actually found this to be a real sticking point in their AJAX backend work, and we ended up not using Web API and using MVC JSON features instead. That's kind of sad because Web API is supposed to be the proper solution for AJAX backends. With all of ASP.NET Web API's extensibility you'd think there would be some way to build this functionality on our own, but after spending a bit of time digging and asking some of the experts from the team and Web API community I didn't hear anything that even suggests that this is possible. From what I could find I'd say it's not possible primarily because Web API's Routing engine does not account for the POST variable mapping. This means [HttpPost] methods with url encoded POST buffers are not mapped to the parameters of the endpoint, and so the routes would never even trigger a request that could be intercepted. Once the routing doesn't work there's not much that can be done. If somebody has an idea how this could be accomplished I would love to hear about it. Do we really need multi-value POST mapping? I think that that POST value mapping is a feature that one would expect of any API tool to have. If you look at common APIs out there like Flicker and Google Maps etc. they all work with POST data. POST data is very prominent much more so than JSON inputs and so supporting as many options that enable would seem to be crucial. All that aside, Web API does provide very nice features with Model Binding that allows you to capture many POST variables easily enough, and logistically this will let you build whatever you need with POST data of all shapes as long as you map objects. But having to have an object for every operation that receives a data input is going to take its toll in heavy AJAX applications, with a lot of types created that do nothing more than act as parameter containers. I also think that POST variable mapping is an expected behavior and Web APIs non-support will likely result in many, many questions like this one: How do I bind a simple POST value in ASP.NET WebAPI RC? with no clear answer to this question. I hope for V.next of WebAPI Microsoft will consider this a feature that's worth adding. Result-set has 130 rows although database holds 187. Result includes some dublicates of 'home'. // 2 ..join SELECT s1.id, s1.home, s1.datetime, s1.player, s1.resource FROM topten s1 JOIN (SELECT id, MAX(datetime) AS dt FROM topten GROUP BY id) AS s2 ON s1.id = s2.id ORDER BY daytime Nope. Gives all the records. // 3 ..something exotic: With various results.

  • How does mysql define DISTINCT() in reference documentation

    - by goran
    EDIT: This question is about finding definitive reference to MySQL syntax on SELECT modifying keywords and functions. /EDIT AFAIK SQL defines two uses of DISTINCT keywords - SELECT DISTINCT field... and SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT field) ... However in one of web applications that I administer I've noticed performance issues on queries like SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2, field3 ... DISTINCT() on a single column makes no sense and I am almost sure it is interpreted as SELECT DISTINCT field1, field2, field3 ... but how can I prove this? I've searched mysql site for a reference on this particular syntax, but could not find any. Does anyone have a link to definition of DISTINCT() in mysql or knows about other authoritative source on this? Best EDIT After asking the same question on mysql forums I learned that while parsing the SQL mysql does not care about whitespace between functions and column names (but I am still missing a reference). As it seems you can have whitespace between functions and the parenthesis SELECT LEFT (field1,1), field2... and get mysql to understand it as SELECT LEFT(field,1) Similarly SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2... seems to get decomposed to SELECT DISTINCT (field1), field2... and then DISTINCT is taken not as some undefined (or undocumented) function, but as SELECT modifying keyword and the parenthesis around field1 are evaluated as if they were part of field expression. It would be great if someone would have a pointer to documentation where it is stated that the whitespace between functions and parenthesis is not significant or to provide links to apropriate MySQL forums, mailing lists where I could raise a question to put this into reference. EDIT I have found a reference to server option IGNORE SPACE. It states that "The IGNORE SPACE SQL mode can be used to modify how the parser treats function names that are whitespace-sensitive", later on it states that recent versions of mysql have reduced this number from 200 to 30. One of the remaining 30 is COUNT for example. With IGNORE SPACE enabled both SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mytable; SELECT COUNT (*) FROM mytable; are legal. So if this is an exception, I am left to conclude that normally functions ignore space by default. If functions ignore space by default then if the context is ambiguous, such as for the first function on a first item of the select expression, then they are not distinguishable from keywords and the error can not be thrown and MySQL must accept them as keywords. Still, my conclusions feel like they have lot of assumptions, I would still be grateful and accept any pointers to see where to follow up on this.

    I have a form that includes three select boxes. The first one is categories, and selecting a category from it will populate the variables multi-select box with values specific to the selected category. Selecting variables and then clicking "add selected" will populate the target select box will those variables. The problem is, print_r shows that the values in the target select box aren't passed upon submit, and I don't understand why... Below is the code, and help is really appreciated Here's the html markup: <select multiple="" id="categories" name="categories[]"> <option class="category" value="Income">Income</option> <option class="category" value="Gender">Gender</option> <option class="category" value="Age">Age</option> </select> //note that i'm only showing variables for a presumably select category <select multiple="multiple" id="variables" name="variables[]"> <option value="2">Less Than $15,000</option> <option value="3">$15,000 - $19,999</option> <option value="4">$20,000 - $29,999</option> <option value="5">$30,000 - $39,999</option> <option value="6">$40,000 - $49,999</option> <option value="11">$90,000 - $99,999</option> <option value="12">$100,000 - $124,999</option> <option value="13">$125,000 - $149,999</option> <option value="14">Greater than $149,999</option> </select> <select name="target[]" id="target" multiple="multiple" height="60"> </select> And here's the jquery code: $(function(){ var opts = {}, $cats = $("#categories"), $target = $("#target"), $vars = $("#variables"); $vars.find("option").each(function(){ var $opt = $(this), cat = this.className, value = this.value, label = $opt.text(); if(!opts[cat]) { opts[cat] = []; } opts[cat].push({label: label, value: value}); $opt.remove(); }); function update_variables(){ var cat = $cats.val(), new_opts = []; $vars.empty(); $.each(opts[cat], function(){ if( $target.find('[value=' + this.value + ']').length === 0 ){ new_opts.push(option(this.value, this.label)); } }); $vars.html(new_opts.join('')); } function option(value, label){ return "<option value='" + value + "'>" + label + "</option>"; } $("#add").click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $vars.find(':selected').appendTo($target).attr('selected',false); update_variables(); }); $("#remove").click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $target.find(':selected').remove(); update_variables(); }); $cats.change(function(){ update_variables(); }).change(); })

  • XSL unique values per node per position

    - by Nathan Colin
    this get ever more complicated :) now i face another issue in last question we managed to take unique values from only one parent node now with: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <roots> <root> <name>first</name> <item> <something>A</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>B</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>C</something> <something>P</something> </item> <item> <something>A</something> <something>L</something> </item> <item> <something>A</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>B</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>D</something> <something>A</something> </item> </root> <root> <name>second</name> <item> <something>E</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>B</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>F</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>A</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>A</something> <something>A</something> </item> <item> <something>B</something> <something>H</something> </item> <item> <something>D</something> <something>G</something> </item> </root> </roots> now i need to get the unique values depending only from one node before but just from the elements on the second position <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output indent="yes" method="text"/> <xsl:key name="item-by-value" match="something" use="concat(normalize-space(.), ' ', generate-id(./ancestor::root))"/> <xsl:key name="rootkey" match="root" use="name"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:for-each select="key('rootkey','first')"> <xsl:for-each select="item/something[1]"> <xsl:sort /> <xsl:if test="generate-id() = generate-id(key('item-by-value', concat(normalize-space(.), ' ', generate-id(./ancestor::root))))"> <xsl:value-of select="."/> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> <xsl:text>_________</xsl:text> <xsl:for-each select="item/something[2]"> <xsl:sort /> <xsl:if test="generate-id() = generate-id(key('item-by-value', concat(normalize-space(.), ' ', generate-id(./ancestor::root))))"> <xsl:value-of select="."/> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> with this XSL i get ABCD__LP where the result i need is ABCD__ALP any ideas?

  • Default values on arguments in C functions and function overloading in C

    - by inquam
    Converting a C++ lib to ANSI C and it seems like though ANSI C doesn't support default values for function variables or am I mistaken? What I want is something like int funcName(int foo, bar* = NULL); Also, is function overloading possible in ANSI C? Would need const char* foo_property(foo_t* /* this */, int /* property_number*/); const char* foo_property(foo_t* /* this */, const char* /* key */, int /* iter */); Could of course just name them differently but being used to C++ I kinda used to function overloading.
