  • Ubunt doesn't mount one of my NTFS disks

    There is a mountable /dev/sda NTFS formatted (Windows disk) There is no /dev/sdb when I ls /dev (NTFS Data disk) There is a /dev/sdc which is another disk of the same model, (Ubuntu disk) I can see that Ubuntu detected this unmountable disk in the Disk Utility It states incorrectly it is unpartioned and a RAID volume. (it previously was RAID0 setup with /dev/sdc but now it is a simple volume, no RAID whatsoever) When I boot Windows 7, it uses this unmountable disk without a glitch The problem happens in both IDE and AHCI modes Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

  • How to discover which name/address connections from one network to another uses?

    In MySQL you have to authorized a user based on the name of the origin network. From my network to a remote one all connections appear as sent from mail.mycompany.com. But connections to another remote network it appears with a different origin. How to discover which name/ip it is using? I tried tcpdump and netstat in the destination but it is difficult to find my connection among billions of others. In my case the destination is a Windows Server 2003

O destaque (IMHO) fica para o paralelismo, algo totalmente aplicável nas aplicações, que nos dá um resultado incrível. Apesar de já existir anteriormente, o fato de estar embutido na plataforma incentiva a rápida adoção da tecnologia.   • Since a few days, Dropbox stopped syncing

    Theres a new problem with nautilus-dropbox and is the worst for a service like Dropbox: stopped syncing and their tech support don't believe their users. The problem is: start dropbox it downloads index creates folders start to download files stop downloading files or the speed is like 0.3k/seg even deleting everything doesn't work, even syncing a single folder with a few files, not even configuring a different limit speed or let all your bandwith, nothing works for me and i have found many users with the same problem. it's strange, i have two computers with ubuntu 14.04 and one with windows 7, and in one of the linux machines it works fine, but not in the other one. Both of them are x64. The answers from the tech support starts with "delete everything and reinstall" to "you may be blocking port 443", yeah, sure (and if i do that half of internet dissapears, idiot), but nothing works. Someone has some idea? i cant find any log file (at least a text log file like in /var/log) to understand what is dropbox doing and what is not working.   • PHP Form POST to external URL with Redirect to another URL

    So, what I am trying to accomplish is have a self-posting PHP form, POST to an external page (using CURL) which in turn redirects to another page. Currently, what is happening is that once I click "Submit" on the form (in contact.php) it will POST to itself (as it is a self-posting form). The script then prepares the POST using CURL and performs the post. The external page does its processing and then, the external page is supposed to redirect back to another page, in a referring domain. However, what happens instead, is that it seems like the contact.php page loads the HTML from the page the external page redirected to, and then, the contact.php's HTML loads after that, ON THE SAME PAGE. The effect, is what looks like two separate pages rendered as one page. Naturally, I just want to perform the POST and have the browser render the page it is supposed to redirect to as specified by the external page.   • SSIS For Each File Loop and File System Task to copy Files

    I'm using a files system task inside a for each loop container, just as described here: link text However, when I execute the package I get this error: [File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "The process cannot access the file 'C:\Book1.xlsx' because it is being used by another process.". I do not have the file open, and I assume no one else does, as I am able to copy, and open, and overwrite the file. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you want an example package plz let me know.

  • Crystal Reports Failed Database Login

    Hello, After spending a good 3 to 4 hours on google trying to find any solution to my problem I haven't had much luck. Basically, we use crystal reports for our .NET applications with a sql server back end, we have many clients each with their own server and so our reports need to have their connections dynamically set. Up until a week ago this worked fine. However a few days ago a client reported they were getting a database login prompt for a report (only one report, the rest worked fine). We were quite stumped but we managed to reproduce it on a netbook which didn't have visual studio or sql server installed. In the end the dev decided to reproduce the report in the hope it was just an oddity in that particular report. Unfortunately a new client today also experienced the same problem, but this time for every crystal report they had - and also they worked on the netbook, so we are really quite lost here.   • Hiding members in a C struct

    I've been reading about OOP in C but I never liked how you can't have private data members like you can in C++. But then it came to my mind that you could create 2 structures. One is defined in the header file and the other is defined in the source file. // ========================================= // in somestruct.h typedef struct { int _public_member; } SomeStruct; // ========================================= // in somestruct.cpp #include "somestruct.h" typedef struct { int _public_member; int _private_member; } SomeStructSource; SomeStruct *SomeStruct_Create() { SomeStructSource *p = (SomeStructSource *)malloc(sizeof(SomeStructSource)); p->_private_member = 0xWHATEVER; return (SomeStruct *)p; } From here you can just cast one structure to the other. Is this considered bad practice? Or is it done often? (I think this is done with a lot of the structures when using the Win32 API, but you guys are the experts let me know!)

  • Is there a way to use template specialization to separate new from new[]?

    I have an auto pointer class and in the constructor I am passing in a pointer. I want to be able to separate new from new[] in the constructor so that I can properly call delete or delete[] in the destructor. Can this be done through template specialization? I don't want to have to pass in a boolean in the constructor. template <typename T> class MyAutoPtr { public: MyAutoPtr(T* aPtr); }; // in use: MyAutoPtr<int> ptr(new int); MyAutoPtr<int> ptr2(new int[10]);
