• Printf in assembler doesn't print

  Hi there, I have got a homework to hack program using buffer overflow ( with disassambling, program was written in C++, I haven't got the source code ). I have already managed it but I have a problem. I have to print some message on the screen, so I found out address of printf function, pushed address of "HACKED" and address of "%s" on the stack ( in this order ) and called that function. Called code passed well but nothing had been printed. I have tried to simulate the environment like in other place in the program but there has to be something wrong. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong that I have no output, please? • Quick question regarding this issue, Why doesnt it print out the second value(converted second value

  Quick question, What have I done wrong here. The purpose of this code is to get the input into a string, the input being "12 34", with a space in between the "12" and "32" and to convert and print the two separate numbers from an integer variable known as number. Why doesn't the second call to the function copyTemp, not produce the value 34?.   I'm looking for a streaming xml pretty printer for C/C++ that's either self contained or that uses libxml2 or expat. I've searched a bit and not found one. It seems like something that would be generally useful. Am I missing an obvious tool that does this? Background: I have a library that outputs xml without whitespace all on one line. In some cases I'd like to pretty print that output. I'm looking for a BSD-ish licensed C/C++ library or sample code that will take a raw xml byte stream and pretty print it.   I have a page with a few tables that I want to be printable. I want the following behaviour: 1) Add a page break if the next table fits in a single page, but won't fit in the current page (because of other stuff already printed on this page) 2) Print the "table header" again in case it's needed to break a table (I guess it's the default behaviour) Any ideas specially on the first issue? Maybe some CSS can help? I'll give on example. I have a page with 4 tables. All of them with 10 lines, except the third one, with 50 lines. The first and second goes on the first page. Since the third one won't fit in the same page, but will fit in a page alone, it's printed on a page alone... and then the forth table is printed on the third page (in case it doesn't fit together in the second page). But, if the third page had 300 lines and would be broke anyway, it could have started to be print in the first page.

  Hi, I need to share a printer that is connected to a Windows 7 computer. The windows 7 computer is in another building about an hours drive away. The computer that needs to access the printer is running Windows Server 2008. Ive tried setting the printer as 'shared' for 'everyone' on the Windows 7 PC and accessing it from the server by adding a TCP/IP port to the IP address but the printer just wont add. From googling aparently it may need setting up as a printer server through IIS, but i'm just not sure on the best practice. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Grant Unwin

  I need to convert to PDF a Word document containing embedded vector EPS images (by printing to PDF printer - I use Word 2003). Several years ago I tested some of commercial and free PDF printers and found none, with except to Acrobat Distiller, which embeds in the generated PDF file real PostScript content of the EPS image instead of the preview showed by Word. Has the situation changed from that time? Do you know any free or commercial PDF printer which handles embedded EPS correctly? • Single domain user can't install a specific shared network printer

  I have a file server serving up shared network printers. Never had any issues in the past. I have a specific domain user (just 1) that gets this error when trying to install a specific printer: You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer This user can install all the other printers no problem. All my other domain users can install the printer with no problem. I've removed the driver from the local client and tried again but with the same problem. Even as an administrator I get this error. Is there something I'm missing?

  I know this worked really easy with a recent CUPS version some years ago. Unfortunately I fail to do the following with latest CUPS nowadays. How to share a printer without using printer specific drivers on the clients with CUPS? The printer is a Samsung ML-2010. The important fact is that it needs a quite specific library for printing called splix. That is installed on the server and prints well. What makes trouble is using that printer over the network. I found out how to use Avahi under Linux to make use of DNSSD to advertise and discover printers. But as far as I understand the new CUPS offers the internal driver interface on the network. This has 2 major issues: anybody can fiddle with the driver and I don't trust any uncommon printer library to be "network secure" anyone who wants to use my printer including guests needs to install the specific drivers first I remember the old days when I could enable "Share this printer" on the CUPS server and all clients would magically detect the printer and just send their job data to the server and have it do the driver stuff. After everything a read I guess this is related to the changes Apple introduced with CUPS including dropping of the integrated network discovery protocol. If it helps: Server: Ubuntu LTS 12.04 Server with CUPS 1.5.3 Client: Arch Linux with current CUPS 1.6.1 On another box with Ubuntu the printer was setup automatically at least but the mechanism used the Splix library for that.

• Asus RT-N66U forgets USB-Printer

  about a week ago I bought the new Asus RT-N66U as the new Router in our little company. There are about 5 clients and 2 printers. There's a USB-only printer as well, therefor we bougth a router with USB-printer sharing. The setup and everything works smooth, but then after one day, and I still haven't found out why, suddenly the printer dosen't show up in the list of connected devices in the routers webinterface anymore. Of course I loose the possibility of printig, even though the printer shows up as "online" in the system settings. Can anybody guess the reason for this problem? Thank you very much

  One of the interesting features of C# 4.0 is for both named and optional arguments.  They are often very useful together, but are quite actually two different things.  Optional arguments gives us the ability to omit arguments to method invocations. • How do I get an Canon Pixma MP150 to print?

  I succesfully installed my Canon Pixma MP150 printer (and scanner) in Ubuntu 12.04, made it the default printer, but i cannot print anything. Watching the printing queue, i see that the printer receives my documents but just for a few seconds after which the queue gets empty without anything getting actually printed. I tried to print from large pdf's to quite tiny txt files. I reinstalled the printer from cups web-based interface (127.0.0.1:631) but again, no luck. Any ideea on the matter?

As I've been doing documentation on existing programming languages attempting to make a complete list of them I stumbled across terrible programming languages, which were clearly not made for actual use and implementation due to their insane difficulty. Languages such as Brainfu*k and LOLCODE or Whitespace are fool languages because they have no real use. For example, a "Hello world" program written in BrainFu*k. • In 14.04, how do I print the current keyboard layout?

  I have several keyboard entry languages set up, and can easily select the one I want to use from the indicator menu. Once a language is chosen, the menu item "Keyboard Layout Chart" shows me what key generates what. How do I print the keyboard layout chart in Ubuntu 14.04? There is no Print button on the chart and there is no menu associated with the layout chart window. Perhaps this is a but in 14.04?

• How can I use Linksys WPSM54G print server as a bridge for another machine AND also share the printe

  I have a Linksys WPMS54G currently sharing a printer via the USB port with the rest of my network via the wireless. Is there any way to set it up so that the ethernet port is bridged over the wireless adapter portion? i.e., be able to uplink another machine or switch into the network via the WPMS54G's ethernet port? Update: The network architecture is as follows: (1) Linksys WRT54G router that serves as a router, DHCP server, and wireless access point for the network. Fairly standard configuration (3) Laptops that are used throughout the house via wifi (1) Linksys WPSM54G printer server that connects via wireless to the router, in a separate room with a printer attached to print seerver's USB port along with (1) Un-networked desktop in the same room Since the printer is plugged into the USB port of the WPSM54G, I am wondering if I can connect the desktop to the ethernet port of the WPSM54G and have it bridged over the wifi to the router. The twist here is that the ethernet is initially used to connect the wireless print server to the router (for configuration, can't configure it wirelessly if you are initially on a encrypted network). Now instead of using that ethernet port as a way to connect the print server to the network (via the router), I want to use the ethernet port as a way to connect another computer to the network, in effect bridging into the router via the print server, while still sharing the printer (attached via USB) through the print server. If this is not clear, please comment. To be clear, the computer I want to connect/bridge into the network does not have a wireless card, is far from the router, and I do not want to lay ethernet cable to connect it. While I could certainly buy a legitimate wireless bridge to accomplish this, I figured since the print server already has an ethernet port, see if I can't use that.

• IE7 Printing - vertically aligned page content before page breaks

  I can't figure out why, but when I print this form in IE7, the first page's content gets aligned to the bottom of the page. I am calling page-break-after:always on the table element that shows the data on the first page. Any ideas?

  Hi folks, I need to print PDF's generated in an asp.net application using crystal reports. Upon printing, a database table gets updated with the status 'printed'. How do we handle situation where let's say, the printer runs out of paper? I know this is on client-side, so what's the right way to handle issues like this? TIA

• Ruby's to_s method question (from Axe book 2nd edition)

  According to the axe book (2nd edition), we can use to_s as follows. class Song def to_s "Song" end end song = Song.new() song.to_s But, it doesn't give me anything, in order to print something to the stdout, I should run def to_s p "Song" end Is there any change since the ruby 1.8.2 when the book was written for? My ruby version info is 1.8.7 for Mac. ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-08 patchlevel 173) [universal-darwin10.0]
