  My ssh connections to my guest vmware box (any OS) are dropped when I suspend (to RAM or to disk) the Win7 host. It only happens when the connection is through the NAT or HOST network. It works as expected with the bridged one.

  I have notebook ASUS N45SF. It comes with dedicated subwoofer, which is connected to separate audio jack. When I connect any audio device to audio jack, internal speakers remain silent, but subwoofer too. I want to let subwoofer play even with audio device connected to jack. Are there any drivers or settings in OS, which would eneble this behaviour? I have Win7/Ubuntu dualboot so OS doesnt matter. Thanks

  I am looking for a Windows utility that can copy the currently selected filename, including the path, to the clipboard, ideally through the right-click menu. Some degree of flexibility would be useful, like the ability to copy just the filename, path+filename, filename minus extension, etc. This isn't essential, though, as long as it can copy the path+filename. Must be compatible with XP, Vista and Win7. Free and/or open source would be ideal. Thanks!

• Black screen before booting up windows 7

  I have this problem that even before booting into Win7, my laptop gets stuck in a black screen with a blinking keyboard cursor on it. It happened after I formatted one of my other partitions. I have tried everything including bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot, and I have even tried using Ubuntu grub to boot windows but unfortunately even grub does not identify my Windows installation. I really don't want to do a reinstalltion of Windows...

  I really tried to figure this problem out, but my "Recent 5" and "All" Playlists of Win7's WMP12 never contain anything. Also I have the "frequent" part of all the apps' jumplists filled with rarely-used or one-time-used options, also "recent" parts are rarely up-to-date and many recent files I've used are not mentioned in the jumplist's "recent" part.

  I'm upgrading/bootstrapping a desktop with new everything Win7 64bit from Vista 32bit. I see that IE9 is newly released and start the install. IE9 Setup requires and offers to close these programs due to overlapping files used. Firefox Chrome Java(TM) Platform SE binary Java(TM) update scheduler Skype, Trillian, Winamp, etc. How safe is this? I fear getting yet another MS Firefox add-on or toolbar.

  I am looking for a way to allow a client Win7 computer, which connects to our California office's Cisco ASA 5510 over an IPSec VPN connection to then be able to connect to a computer in our chicago office which is itself connected through another Cisco ASA router to california.   I am using http://www.pnotepad.org/ (i wouldnt mind switching to something else if it lightweight and has most/all features i like which i'll check on a app by app basis) When i create a new tab/file and save it unless i write .txt i get a file with no extention. Which makes it hard to open since i cant double click it (i dont think i can tell win7 to set a default app for files with no extension) How do i make pnotepad save with a .txt when non are specified?

  I have a server installed on one local Win7 machine (say as 192.168.2.14:8080/myAPP) and I want to access that server from different computer (say ip as 192.168.2.16). Even they are connected to same network I can't access server from other computer. I guess the problem is in firewall. This is working when I disable firewall and not working when I allow certain ports in windows firewall but keeping firewall on (As a rule to allow incoming connections).

  Can anybody recommend a USB wireless network adapter, that has Windows 7 drivers for both 32 and 64 bit? It also needs to reconnect to the network when the computer is brought out of sleep. I have three of these from earlier (from Allnet, trendnet and linksys), and just one of them has working drivers for Win7 64bit - but fail to return from sleep in a working state.
