  • Windows Server 2008 R2 DFS Replication - Which files are replicating?

    Windows Server 2008 R2 DFS Replication Is it possible to see which specific files are replicating in real time using a GUI or command line tool or in a log somewhere? I didn't see this in the DFS health reporting, in the DFS event viewer, or the DFS log. The log is pretty cryptic though so it may be in there and I'm unable to see it. I searched through the DFS log for paths and files I know should be replicating and they're not in there.

  • WordPress permalinks not working, everything seems fine

    I have a WordPress blog I've migrated from another CMS, and I've being having a lot of problems with my permalinks structure: lots of articles give a 404, although they are there, somewhere, published. The site is www.muycomputerpro.com (MCP for short), and for example an article that should be found is: http://muycomputerpro.com/Actualidad/Especiales/2009-las-grandes-crecen-en-la-bolsa If I do a search on the search tool at MCP, the result is there (see EnlacesMCP-1.jpg) But when I click on the link, our 404 error page appears (see EnlacesMCP-2.jpg) The weird thing is, the article is published, and the permalink is the right one, as you can see on this screenshot of the WordPress CMS: The permalink (below the title) is correct (http://www.muycomputerpro.com/Actualidad/Especiales/2009-las-grandes-crecen-en-la-bolsa/) but it does not work. In fact, if I try to use the short link (http://www.muycomputerpro.com/?p=5023) the article does not show either. I've accessed my WordPress DB and I've search the article to see if there is something wrong there, but from what I can tell all the fields are OK, here's a screenshot: I really don't know what is causing this. The permalink structure should work (I'm using the "Custom permalink" plugin to preserve the old URLs that had a alphanumeric code at the end of the postname) and the permalink config on wordpress is "/%postname%/". I really need help :(

    Hello I am working on a system that needs a user-dependent variable, the user in on Windows XP and is connected to Windows Server 2003. I cannot save this variable in the registry of the local machine under HKCU, because the users are likely to exchange their machines. This variable must be accessible on the whole domain. Do you have any idea of implementing this ? Are there WMI features that may help me ?

  • Routing and Remote Access Port Mapping not applied to localhost

    Hi, I've set up Routing and Remote Access (Windows Server 2003) to forward publicip:80 to a server on the private internal network, and that's working great. Incoming requests from the internet to port 80 are correctly forwarded to our internal web server and everything is fine. However, requests on the server itself are not being forwarded. That is, if I open a console window and type "telnet publicip 80" from the server on publicip, the request is not forwarded to the private server. I understand that in RRAS I've mapped port 80 on the public interface to the private server and that's why it's not working; but I don't know how to configure it so that requests from the local PC are also forwarded to the private server. I'd appreciate any help or feedback on the matter. Thanks!

  • Daylight Savings Time and Microsoft Exchange woes

    Ever since the switch from Standard Time to Daylight Time, the time on our e-mail messages has been ahead by one hour. This symptom has me wondering if the cause is improper configuration of daylight savings settings. Since we're in a client/server environment, the clients synchronize with the server, and the server synchronizes with Boulder, Colorado. If I set both the server and the clients to automatically switch to daylight savings, the clients seem to regard the server as being set to Standard Time and set themselves an hour ahead of it, which is really two hours ahead. Should the server switch to daylight savings and the clients follow along on their next synchronization, or should the server stay on Standard Time and the clients switch over? The system clock on the Exchange Server is currently displaying the correct time. How do I get the e-mail messages to display the correct time in Outlook?

This all happens very quickly and within a few seconds the file is available, but the problem is it shouldn't be locked. Does anyone know how we can view what's locking it? Any tools available?

    The title is a bit misleading... what I want to do is a little complicated: I want to set up my server (running Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop) to send email using PHP's mail() function. I tried just using it, but the messages don't go anywhere and the return value of mail() is not FALSE, so I really don't know what's going on. Any advice/ideas for configuring this?

  • How do I login once I promote my Windows Server 2012 to domain controller in my Amazon VPC?

    I am following this guide: http://d36cz9buwru1tt.cloudfront.net/pdf/EC2_AD_How_to.pdf to setup my domain controller. I get AD installed correctly, but when I do the promotion to DC, the server restarts and when I try to access it, I am unable to login using any of the local system accounts. I even created my own separate user account, but that did not help. I made sure to disable the amazon settings for renaming the machine, the machine has a static ip and has been renamed.

Unfortunately we kept the auditing disabled completely due it being such a resource hog. So I was wondering If there is a way to audit a specific folder for a specific security group, for just file and folder deletions within the specified folder.     On my Ubuntu server, when I do everything now I do it as "root" user. So for example, logging into ftp filezilla, I enter "root" as username... Is this the way to do it, or should I create a users group and add priveliges to the users in that group? Don't know if I should create a new user or not, it works with root just fine, but I don't want any security flaws... Thanks

One of the directory supposed to treat .htm as php yet got text, created another directory and edit a phpinfo, still another text, browse to phpmyadmin, viola, works fine Suspect Does Apache honour XP security and permission ? If so, this is a single user computer. Does Apache dont like my new hard disk/new place ? Why it doesnt execute the php in new directory but happily execute in old folder ?     Right, what we wish (or need) to do is to migrate a NAS from a old machine to a new one. problem is, we wish to keep the folder hierarchie intact, and all the settings and shares. Now I vaguely recall microsoft used to have a tool to do exactly this. It would copy the folders exactly, with the rights intact, and then remove the shares on the old machine and reactivate them on the new machine. Now is there anyone who could help me find it again, or perhaps find a better solution for it ? Much appreciated guys
