  • Having trouble on mouse over tabs

    I downloaded a webpage template from the internet because I don't know how to design webpage on photoshop. But doesn't seem to be working with the template that I downloaded.   • Variable 'app' in url-pattern for servlet mapping

    I'm learning Spring MVC (and servlets in general) and following springsource's mvc-ajax example, which uses annotated controller methods. It appears that there is only one url-pattern (in web.xml) mapped to a servlet in that example: /app/* I've deployed the app as a WAR file, and the actual, ugly URL I'm requesting is http://127.0.0.1:8080/org.springframework.samples.mvc.ajax-1.0.0-20100407.233245-1/account. So, it appears that 'app' in '/app/*' is a variable corresponding to 'org.springframework.samples.mvc.ajax-1.0.0-20100407.233245-1', however, it isn't universal because it isn't usable in my own app, and it contradicts my understanding that url-pattern contains the portion of the URL after the app name. So, what is 'app'? Where is it configured?

    I'm trying to get my head round this (okay, tbh cramming a night before the exams :) but i can't figure out (nor find a good high level overview on the net) of this: 'page table entries can be mapped to more than one TLB entry.. if for example every page table entry is mappped to two TLB entries, this is know as 2-way set associative TLB' My question is, why would we want to map this more than once? surely we want to have the maximum number of possible entries represented in the TLB, and duplication would waste space right ? What am i missing? Many thanks

  • In OpenRasta, how do I configure a URI where I get "the remainder of the path" as a single string?

    Normally in OpenRasta there is some configuration like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/customers/region/{region}") ... // and so on ... where the {region} part of the path is automatically mapped to a string parameter in the handling method. So if the user hits: http://server/customers/region/emea Then the handler method is passed the string "emea". As well as doing this, I'd like to register a handler with something like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/someotherthing/*") ... // and so on In this imaginary syntax, the asterisk would mean "take the rest of the path, including slashes, to be a single string parameter to pass to the handling method". And so if the user hits: http://server/someotherthing/how/about/this?that=other Then my handler method receives a string parameter: how/about/this?that=other Is such a thing possible in OpenRasta? In Sinatra (Ruby) I'd use a regular expression to do exactly this.

    I have a small application built using Seam 2.2, Richfaces 3.3, JBoss 5.1. Most of the page navigation adds the request parameters to the target URL. I would like to hide parameters to be hidden to the customer who is using the application (e.g. I would expect the URL to be something like "http://localhost:8080/books/Book.seam". The parameters (userId, orderId and cmId) are currently mapped to the backend bean via Book.page.xml. How do I prevent the request parameters from showing up in the browser URL, as it also allows the customer to manipulate the URL. We did look at seam URL re-writing feature, it talked about manipulating say the primary key id in a REST format, not sure how to accomplish something more complex like the above use case in a elegant fashion.

    I have a TrackLog that has a collection of TrackPoints: public class TrackLog { public string Name { get; set; } public ISet<TrackPoint> TrackPoints { get; set; } } public class TrackPoint { public DateTime Timestamp { get; set; } public double Latitude { get; set; } public double Longitude { get; set; } } I'd like to map the track points as a collection of components, as this makes the most sense. According to the book NHibernate in Action, on page 187: Collections of components are mapped similarily to other collections of value type instances. The only difference is the use of <composite-element> in place of the familiar <element> tag. How would I do this using Castle ActiveRecord attributes?

  • NHibernate mapping one table on two classes with where selection

    We would like to map a single table on two classes with NHibernate. The mapping has to be dynamically depending on the value of a column. Here's a simple example to make it a bit clearer: We have a table called Person with the columns id, Name and Sex. The data from this table should be mapped either on the class Male or on the class Female depending on the value of the column Sex. In Pseudocode: create instance of Male with data from table Person where Person.Sex = 'm'; create instance of Female with data from table Person where Person.Sex = 'f'; The benefit is we have strongly typed domain models and can later avoid switch statements. Is this possible with NHibernate or do we have to map the Person table into a flat Person class first? Then afterwards we would have to use a custom factory method that takes a flat Person instance and returns a Female or Male instance. Would be good if NHibernate (or another library) can handle this.

  • Crystal report - Conversion from text to decimal ?

    I have a crystal report, which takes data from an XML template. For a particular field of report, say 'Cost' the database stored procedure send data to XSD file in decimal format , but when the crystal report displays data picking from XSD, it is rounded off. When i right click on other data fields of report, I can see 'Field:table1.columnname',. But when i click on 'Cost' field, it shows 'Text:'. To my understanding, this is a text field which is mapped to pick data from XSD and since the type is text, it gives result in text hence truncating the decimal. Please suggest how can I get decimals here. P.S: This code was created by someone else, so i have no idea on what they had set at that time. I have to fix it and i have no clue about it.

    Hi, I am trying to automate a device driver's debug session in Windows XP with Windbg. My device has an "index" register and a "data" register, both memory mapped. The index register must be filled with the internal register's index, and the value can be read from the data register. So, the followind Windbg command prints correctly the value of the internel register 0x4C: !ed [uc] 0xfa000000 0x4c; !dd [uc] 0xfa000004 L1 Now I would like to dump a range of internal registers, but it seems that the alias expansion doesn't work as expected in the !ed command. I am trying this cycle: .for (r $t0=0; @$t0<0x100; r $t0=@$t0+1) { !ed [uc] 0xfa000000 @$t0; !dd [uc] 0xfa000004 L1 } but it seems that the !ed command is ignored, as if @$t0 was expanded in an empty string. Tried "$t0", "@$t0", "${t0}" and "@${t0}", but without success. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance

    Hi community, I'm interessted, how does Linq2Sql handles a compiled query, that returns IQueryable. If I call an extension method based on a compiled query like "GetEntitiesCompiled().Count()" or "GetEntitiesCompiled().Take(x)". What does Linq2Sql do in the background? This would be very bad, so in this situation I should write a compiled query like "CountEntitiesCompiled". Does he load the result (in this case "GetEntitiesCompiled()") into the memory (mapped to the entity class like "ToList()")? So what situations make sense, when the compiled queries return IQueryable, that query is not able to modify, before request to the Sql-Server. So in my opinion I can just as good return List. When i use openquery i can overcome this by setting this: SET FMTONLY OFF. Does anyone know if there's a similar workaround for my problem?

  • Visual Studio 2008 adding incorrect working folders to TFS Workspace

    I am using Visual Studio 2008 with TFS. I have one workspace set up with one working folder. I map the root source control folder $/ to C:\TFS and get all code. When working on any project under the root, Visual Studio will randomly add incorrectly mapped working folders to my workspace. For example, it might map $/WebProject/ to C:\TFS\WebProject\DataAccess -- where the real files exist at C:\TFS\WebProject. Once it incorrectly adds these working folders, I can no longer open the solution. I am forced to remove the working folders that Visual Studio added and get latest from TFS. Has anyone experienced this? Is there something I can do to avoid running into this?

    I have a triangle in (u,v) coordinates in an image. I would like to draw this triangle at 3D coordinates (X,Y,Z) texture-mapped with the triangle in the image. Here, u,v,X,Y,Z are all vectors with three elements representing the three corners of the triangle. I have a very ugly, slow and insatisfactory solution in which I (1) extract a rectangular part of the image, (2) transform it to 3D space with the transformation defined by the three points, (3) draw it with surface, and (4) finally masking out everything that is not part of the triangle with AlphaData. Surely there must be an easier way of doing this?

    I have a HTML file upload field from which I'm reading the file name of the file that the user specifies. The actual contents of the file is never uploaded. At a later stage, is it possible to construct a link using this file name information so that if the user clicks on this link, the original file is launched into a new browser window? If not, what are the reason for disallowing this behaviour? The purpose of such a feature is to store links to documents that are available on a mapped local drive or a network share.

By that I mean that the fundamental relationships of the system are first defined in the database and objects are generated that reflect those relationships. Examples Quickstart (Entity Framework) Using Entity Framework entities as business objects? The EF documentation implies that it's not necessary to start from the database layer, e.g. Developers can work with a consistent application object model that can be mapped to various storage schemas When designing a new system (simplified version), I tend to first create a class model, then generate business objects from the model, code business layer stuff that can't be generated, and then worry about persistence (or rather work with a DBA and let him worry about the most efficient persistence strategy). That object centric approach is well supported by ORM technologies such as (n)Hibernate. Is there a reasonable path to an object centric approach with EF? Will I be swimming upstream going that route? Any good starting points?

I want the urls to mapped like this... www.example.com/nodes/main - www.example.com/main www.example.com/nodes/about - www.example.com/about So for this I wrote in my config/routes.php file.. Router::connect('/:action', array('controller' => 'nodes')); Now, I got the thing going but when I click on the links, the url in browser appears like www.example.com/nodes/main www.example.com/nodes/about Is there some way where I can get the urls to appear the way they are routed?     Is there a way to specify distinct sequences for each table in Hibernate, if the ID is defined on a mapped superclass? All entities in our application extend a superclass called DataObject like this: @MappedSuperclass public abstract class DataObject implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE) @Column(name = "id") private int id; } @Entity @Table(name = "entity_a") public class EntityA extends DataObject { ... } @Entity @Table(name = "entity_b") public class EntityB extends DataObject { ... } This causes all entities to use a shared sequence, the default hibernate_sequence. What I would like to do is use a separate sequence for each entity, for example entity_a_sequence and entity_b_sequence in the example above. If the ID were specified on the subclasses then I could use the @SequenceGenerator annotation to specify a sequence for each entity, but in this case the ID is on the superclass. Given that ID is in the superclass, is there a way I can use a separate sequence for each entity — and if so, how? (We are using PostgreSQL 8.3, in case that's relevant)

  • Access to selection in gmail message body with Google Apps Script

    Can app scripts access the current selection in a gmail message? I frequently compose messages that include engineering calculations and make use of the Google Calc feature do the calculation or convert to the desired units, e.g. 4000 Btu/hr * 8 hrs in kWh It would be really convenient to be able to select the above, hit a mapped key (e.g. Ctrl-K) and have the inserted after the expression 4000 Btu/hr * 8 hrs in kWh = 0.9378 kWh instead of having to paste the expression into a search box and then copy and paste the answer. I could certainly write a solution using a keymapper and a small python script to grab the current selection, send it to the gcalc api, etc ..., but my real motivation is to get familiar with Apps Scripts's capabilities and limitations. I suppose the uber-question here is "what kinds of user actions and state information can App Script access in Gmail messages (and/or Google docs) that are being edited?"

I'm a bit concerned about that the user could place arbitrary strings in the url after the upload/ and this is directly mapped to the local filesystem. Actually I don't think that it is a vulnerability issue, since the access to the filesystem is restricted to the files in the folder defined with the UPLOAD_LOCATION setting.     Project a cubic bezier p1,p2,p3,p4 onto the line p1,p4. When p2 or p3 does not project onto the line segment between p1 and p4, the curve will bulge out from the anchor points. Is there a way to calculate the T value where the tangent of the curve is perpendicular to the anchor line? This could also be stated as finding the T values where the projected curve is farthest from the center of the line segment p1,p4. When p2 and p3 project onto the line segment, then the solutions are 0 and 1 respectively. Is there an equation for solving the more interesting case? The T value seems to depend only on the distance of the mapped control points from the anchor line segment. I can determine the value by refining guesses, but I am hoping there is a better way.

  • Avoid implicit conversion from date to timestamp for selects with Oracle using Hibernate

    I'm using Hibernate 3.2.7.GA criteria queries to select rows from an Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 database, filtering by a timestamp field. The field in question is of type java.util.Date in Java, and DATE in Oracle. It turns out that the field gets mapped to java.sql.Timestamp, and Oracle converts all rows to TIMESTAMP before comparing to the passed in value, bypassing the index and thereby ruining performance. One solution would be to use Hibernate's sqlRestriction() along with Oracle's TO_DATE function. That would fix performance, but requires rewriting the application code (lots of queries). So is there a more elegant solution? Since Hibernate already does type mapping, could it be configured to do the right thing? Update: The problem occurs in a variety of configurations, but here's one specific example: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle JDBC Driver 11.1.0.7.0 Hibernate 3.2.7.GA Hibernate's Oracle10gDialect Java 1.6.0_16
