  Dear Readers, I am working on implementing a custom Document Management System using the Oracle XML DB Content Connector. See the following documentation link for details Oracle XML DB Developer's Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2)Chapter 31 Using Oracle XML DB Content Connectorhttp://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e23094/xdb_jcr.htm especially the following example gave me some trouble to run it successfully Sample Code to Upload Filehttp://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e23094/xdb_jcr.htm#ADXDB5627 I had already succeeded to set some of the properties successfully, i.e. jcr:encoding, jcr:mimeType, ojcr:displayName and ojcr:language. However setting the jcr:data property as described in the example failed consistently, both with the documented input FileStream or with a fixed string. contentNode.setProperty("jcr:data", "mystringvalue"); After some research I found the following Support Note which describes the cause for the issue in the JDBC driver version 11.2.0.1. Error "ORA-17068: Invalid argument(s) in call" Using Method setBinaryStream(0L) in JDBC 11.2.0.1 (Doc ID 1234235.1)https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocContentDisplay?id=1234235.1It can easily be solved by upgrading to JDBC 11.2.0.2 or worked around using the following property setting: java -Doracle.jdbc.LobStreamPosStandardCompliant=false ... • Web Application Problems (web.config errors) HTTP 500.19 with IIS7.5 and ASP.NET v2

  This is driving the whole team crazy. There must be some simple mis-configured part of IIS or our Web Server, but every time we try to run out ASP.NET Web Application on IIS 7.5 we get the following error... Here's the error in full: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. `Detailed Error Information` Module IIS Web Core Notification Unknown Handler Not yet determined Error Code 0x8007000d Config Error Config File \\?\E:\wwwroot\web.config Requested URL http://localhost:80/Default.aspx Physical Path Logon Method Not yet determined Logon User Not yet determined Config Source -1: 0: The machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. We're developing our Web Application using Visual Studio 2008. According to Microsoft the code 8007000d means there's a syntax error in our web.config -- except the project builds and runs fine locally. Looking at the web.config in XML Notepad doesn't bring up any syntax errors, either. I'm assuming it must be some sort of poor configuration on my part...? Does anyone know where I might find further information about the error? Nothing is showing in EventViewer, either :( Not sure what else would be helpful to mention... UPDATES! - POSTED WEB.CONFIG BELOW Ok, since I posted the original question above, I've tracked down the precise lines in the web.config that were causing the error. Here are the lines (they appear between <System.webServer> tags)... <httpHandlers> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </httpHandlers> Note: If I delete the lines between the <httpHandlers> I STILL get the error. I literally have to delete <httpHandlers> (and the lines inbetween) to stop getting the above error. Once I've done this I get a new 500.19 error, however. The new error is also more explicit and specifically complains that it doesn't recognize the attribute "validate" (as seen on the third line above). Removing this attribute then makes it complain that the same line doesn't have the required "name" attribute. Adding this attribute then brings up ASP.NET error... Could not load file or assembly 'System.web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Obviously I think these new errors have just arisen from me deleting the <httpHandlers> tags in the first place -- they're obviously needed by the application -- so the question remains: Why would these tags kick up an error in IIS in the first place??? Do I need to install something to IIS to make it work with them? Thanks again for any help. WEB.CONFIG Here's the troublesome bits of our web.Config...   I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite and I'm unable to run tests and display the Test/Windows/Test Result Window. The result is a dialog box with the following content : "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation". Team Explorer has been installed after Visual Studio 2008 SP1. • "must be convertible to System.Web.UI.Page" using custom base page in Visual Studio 2010

  I have a HUGE problem. We just converted our large project to a Visual Studio 2010 solution, but maintained .Net 3.5 targets. This seemed to go swimmingly, almost too easy. Today I just encountered a huge problem. When we add a new asp.net tag to a page the designer class is not being updated. I looked around and noticed that the type specified in the Page's Inherits attribute was underlined in red. Hovering over that gives the error "must be convertible to System.Web.UI.Page". Obviously the designer isn't casting the page correctly and it's because we are using a custom base page, just as we had been with no problems in VS 2008. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, what's the solution. This is a show-stopper for us to use VS 2010 (and lots of egg on our faces for moving to it in the first place).

  Using C# .NET 2.0, I have a composite data class that does have the [Serializable] attribute on it. I am creating an XMLSerializer class and passing that into the constructor: XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(DataClass)); I am getting an exception saying: There was an error reflecting type. Inside the data class there is another composite object. Does this also need to have the [Serializable] attribute or by having it on the top object does it recursively apply it to all objects inside? Any thoughts?

• Missing help files for Microsoft.WindowsMobile in Visual Studio 2008 help system

  I've just installed the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 DTK, both standard and professional. Before that I had the standard and professional Windows Mobile 6 SDKs. All Windows Mobile help pages are missing in Visual Studio 2008's help system - in particular everything in the Microsoft.WindowsMobile namespace. Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DirectX is there, but it's not part of the Windows Mobile 6 SDK or 6.5.3 DTK. If I open the WM6 docs from the freshly created program group, then it's all fine and dandy, but there doesn't seem to have been a proper integration with VS during installation. Any ideas what's gone wrong and how to fix it?

  I found a neat SVG parser at http://bkp.ee/atirip/ which parses an SVG file and outputs it into javascript that uses the Raphael JS library (raphaeljs.com). You'll notice in the source code at http://bkp.ee/atirip/svg2rdemo.php : <script> jQuery(document).ready( function() { $("#c1").each(function(){ var c = Raphael(this, 190, 154, 0, 0); var g1 = c.set(); ... it creates variables like g1, g2, etc. But it also reuses these variables. I would like to create unique variables for each group. In my .ai file, I have named my groups and I would like to use these names to create the variable names.   Todays cause of hair loss has been the following scenario: I have a service that takes 2 strings and returns another. This service uses basicHttpBinding <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="basicHttpNoSec"> <security mode="None" /> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> Anyway, it works fine from a console test app. I have a silverlight app sat on top which implements another basicHttpBinding service that simply reuses the contract in the other service and the silverlight App uses this service. I have a console app that confirms that this service is working and set up with basichttpbinding. I have all the clientAccessPolicy stuff in place. when I run the silverlight app the difference is that it runs everything async ... as such the only message i directly get back rom wcf is server not found.   I am trying to use dozer to map between classes. I have a source class that looks like this: public class initRequest{ protected String id; protected String[] details } I have a destination class that looks like this: public class initResponse{ protected String id; protected DetailsObject detObj; } public class DetailsObject{ protected List<String> details; } So essentially i want the string in the details array to be populated into the List in the Details object. If I try something like: system("kextstat"); No problems. Any ideas why the find string command I'm passing in is not working? All I get is "GDB: Running ....." in xCode. I should mention that if I try the same exact command in terminal it works just fine.

  Should journal entries be recorded in a database design? In the real world it makes sense to keep a daily entry book, then later transfer the daily entry book into double entry accounts. but in the computerized version, doing this produces duplicate records and that doesn't quite make sense? ???? What i mean is 1) user enter details , it gets recorded (this would be called the journalbook in real life) 2) the software does all the double entry accounting then references the journalbook and splits up the transaction into the double entry accounting system.

  I need to generate an event when a file is closed by another app. Unfortunately, ReadDirectoryChangesW doesn't report the close event. It would be possible for me to poll (with a TTimer) any file that reported by ReadDirectoryChangesW as modified, waiting for it to be closed (using CreateFile to detect this). However, what I'd prefer is a completely event driven solution. Is there a way to hook system calls and detect all file closing events? I simply want to know the path & name of any file that has just been closed.
