• Ajax basic email code without reloading page

  I have in a previous Q found out that I need an ajax-function to send an email (submit a contact form) without reloading the page. This is for my classifieds website, where when users are viewing a classified they have the option to "tip a friend" by entering their friends email-adress and submitting the form. But I don't want to reload the page, that would be frustrating and not so clever. The only input in the form is a text input which will contain the email-adress to send to, and another hidden input which contains the classified_id nr, to identify which classified it is. The website is php based btw... Does anybody have a simple script for this? I have no experience in Ajax at all... And would really appreciate it. Thanks PS: Would prefer no Jquery, due to clients own reasons...

• Syntax error in SharePoint calculated column formula

  Is it possible to debug SharePoint calculated column formulas? I am trying with a really simple SharePoint calculated formula =IF([YTD]<[Budget], "OK", "Not OK"). This being a Danish installations of SharePoint I believe the fomula should look like this: =HVIS([YTD]<=[Budget]; "OK"; "Not OK") But this just leaves with the same syntax error or not supported error. I have tried all combinations of IF/HVIS, with/without the square brackets, comma/semicolon, single quotes/double quotes, but nothing works. The formula =YTD<=Budget works.

• Is is possible to use transparency in an iPhone app icon?

  I created a 57X57 Circle-shaped icon (without shine) which has transparency outside of the circle-shape for my app. I can successfully install the app on Simulator and iPhone. It works fine, and looks great. However, can I submit an icon with transparency to Apple. Will they accept it? I can't find any apps which have transparency in their icon... instead they use a kind of pseudo-transparency - a jet black background with no shine.

• php $_REQUEST data is only half-decoded

  I am retrieving a url via querystring. I need to pass it again to the next page. When I retrieve it the first time, using $_REQUEST['url'], only the slashes are decoded, e.g: http://example.com/search~S10?/Xllamas&searchscope=10&SORT=D/Xllamas&searchscope=10&SORT=D&SUBKEY=llamas/51%2C64%2C64%2CB/browse The php docs page for urldecode advises against decoding request data, and says that it will already be decoded. I need it either completely decoded, so I can encode it again without double-encoding some parts, or not decoded at all. I'm not sure why my experience of this data is incongruous with the php docs. Appreciate any help or pointers to same!!

• Redirect Entry form in SharePoint back to itself once entry submitted?

  The issue I have is that people in my group are using a link to an Entry Form to post new itmes to a SharePoint list. Everytime they click 'submit' to post new item, SharPoint redirects them to the list. I need a solution for SharePoint to direct them to the empty Entry form instead, no matter how many times they need to use it. Is there such solution? Thanks, I already have this "/EntryForm.aspx?Source=http://" in the link to the Entry form, but works only 2 times, after that will direct to the list.

  Note: Most probably this will be a double question, but since I haven't found a clear answer, I'm asking it anyway. In ASP.NET I'd like to add some JavaScript to the onclick event of a CheckBox. Now i have met a problem. <form name="myform" action="?page=matching" method="GET"> <input id="match_button" type="submit" name="button" value="button" onClick="func_load3()" /> </form> action="?page=matching" means the current page, because i use the single entry in my php application. With the code upon, When i click the button, it redirects to the homepage. And I tried to use: <form name="myform" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="GET"> but it still doesn't work. So i have to ask for help from you. Do you have any ideas about that?   With all the recent hype about JavaScript and HTML5 replacing Flash, I wanted to know - How would it be possible to protect client-side js code? Of course, it is possible to obfuscate it, but that would only make it a little harder. Also, for games which submit high scores to the server, wouldn't it be incredibly easy to modify those scores before they are sent to the server? I know even Flash files can be decompiled, but they can be obfuscated and flash decompilation is not as easy as modifying data in JS - could be done easily using a plugin such as Firebug. I'd like to know everyone's views on this.

  Is there a way to know what parameters are needed by an event in Visual Studio 2010? Let's say I have a DropDownList control and I want to bind a method to the "OnSelectedIndexChanged", I would do something like this In the ASPX File: <asp:DropDownList ID="lstMyList" runat="server" OnSelectedIndexChanged="lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged"></asp:DropDownList> In the codebehind: protected void lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... } Is there a way to know what parameters the method needs? (In this case, an object for the sender and an EventArgs parameter for the event.) I know you can easily create the method by double-clicking the right event in Design Mode, but it does a mess with your code so I prefer not to use it. Thanks!

• Why for only some actions must I call setTarget?

  For most actions, I just click and drag in InterfaceBuilder to "wire up" a call from some interface object to my code. For example, if I want to know when the user single-clicks a row in a table, I drag a connection from the table's action to my controller's action. But now let's consider the user double-clicking a row. If I want one of my actions to be called when this happens, I need to call not only -[NSTableView setDoubleAction] but also -[NSControl setTarget]. Why? To be clear, I am not asking why Interface Builder doesn't support setDoubleAction. All tools have limitations. I am trying to gain a greater understanding about how and why setTarget doesn't seem to be necessary unless and until I want setDoubleAction to work. Another way to ask this question would be: Why don't I need to do anything in Interface Builder to set the target of the table's (single-click) action?

• uitextfield delegate must be file's owner?

  I've seen a few references (eg here) in response to folks having trouble getting the keyboard to dismiss in iPhone that say "double check that the delegate is attached to file's owner. Is this necessarily true? Or just standard practice? Can't I have other objects in my nib, such as a subclass of UIViewController, and make connections to those as I like? I'd hate to have to route everything into the object that happens to be file owner. That said, I'm having a difficult time getting the keyboard to disappear. I know it's connected to the delegate, because I can set break points and step through the code. I can see the [theTextField resignFirstResponder] get called (and return true), but the keyboard still won't go away. Any other suggestions?

And use it to get rid of dynamic memory allocation (I know array sizes already, and there will be a few child-classes with different constants). • Update options to jQuery slider via form

  I have a jQuery Slider, and I am trying to make it more dynamic by adding three input fields: min max step I want to take those fields and then onblur update my slider options. I read that you can set options like this: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', 7); And do the same for min,step, etc along with the other options. I tried playing with it yesterday, but I'm not sure how to get it to update. I am using a form with no submit button, so just change on blur. I know I would get the .val() of the input and set it to a variable then would it be: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', var_here); Any thoughts?

• Correct (pretty) window redraw during the creation

  Does anyone know what is a correct way to redraw window during lengthy initialization operations? Say I have HWND with NULL brush, and it does some not so quick child window initialization (Window initialization is not so quick on Vista and 7, especially on netbooks, even with threaded app). With this config window stays black for half a second on slower laptops. But if I supply window color brush, it seems that there are some sort of child controls or something that draws black squares on top of it, which also seems ugly. Even though the controls are created without WS_VISIBLE initially. Oh, the window has the WS_EX_COMPOSITED style, which should do the double buffering to avoid flicker. But it still behaves ugly. Are there any other tricks I've forgotten, missed?

PHP_EOL; ?> The code is simple - it takes a single t parameter on the url and outputs it back. So if you call it with test.php?t=%5Ca (%5c is a '\'), I expected to see: \a However, this is what I got: $ curl http://localhost/~boaz/test.php?t=%5Ca \\a Notice the double slash.
