  • Calling NSFetchedResultsController & CoreData experts

    - by JK
    I am having a few nagging issues with NSFetchedResultsController and CoreData, any of which I would be very grateful to get help on. Issue 1 - Updates: I update my store on a background thread which results in certain rows being delete, inserted or updated. The changes are merged into the context on the main thread using the "mergeChangesFromContextDidSaveNotification:" method. Inserts and deletes are updated properly, but updates are not (e.g. the cell label is not updated with the change) although I have confirmed the updates to come through the contextDidSaveNotifcation, exactly like the inserts and deleted. My current workaround is to temporarily change the staleness interval of the context to 0, but this does not seem like the ideal solution. Issue 2 - Deleting objects: My fetch batch size is 20. If an object is deleted by the background thread which is in the first 20 rows, everything works fine. But if the object is after the first 20 rows and the table is scrolled down, a "CoreData could not fulfill a fault" error is raised. I have tried resaving the context and reperforming the frc fetch - all to no avail. Note: In this scenario, the frc delegate method "didChangeObject...." is not called for the delete - I assume this is because the object in question had not been faulted at that time (as it is was outside the initial fetch range). But for some reason, the context still thinks the object is around, although is has been deleted from the store. Issue 3 - Deleting sections : When the deletion of a row leads to the deletion of a section, I have gotten the "invalid number of rows in section???" error. I have worked around this by removing the "reloadSection" line from the NSFetchedResultsChangeMove: section and replacing it with "[tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths...." This seems to work, but once again, I am not sure if this is the best solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Segfault when calling a method c++

    - by shuttle87
    I am fairly new to c++ and I am a bit stumped by this problem. I am trying to assign a variable from a call to a method in another class but it always segfaults. My code compiles with no warnings and I have checked that all variables are correct in gdb but the function call itself seems to cause a segfault. The code I am using is roughly like the following: class History{ public: bool test_history(); }; bool History::test_history(){ std::cout<<"test"; //this line never gets executed //more code goes in here return true; } class Game{ private: bool some_function(); public: History game_actions_history; bool local_variable; }; bool Game::some_function(){ local_variable = game_actions_history.test_history(); if (local_variable == true){ return true; } else{ return false; } } Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Difference in calling redefined functions in F# and Clojure

    - by Michiel Borkent
    In F#: > let f x = x + 2;; val f : int -> int > let g x = f x;; val g : int -> int > g 10;; val it : int = 12 > let f x = x + 3;; val f : int -> int > g 10;; val it : int = 12 In Clojure: (defn f [x] (+ x 2)) (defn g [x] (f x)) (g 10) ;; => 12 (defn f [x] (+ x 3)) (g 10) ;; => 13 Note that in Clojure the most recent version of f gets called in the last line. In F# however still the old version of f is called. Why is this?

I'm not expecting an answer like 'There is a project called StageWebViewBridge' since it does't have all the features I need. THX!!

  • Calling arrays from other methods in a different class

    - by Jake H
    Hello, I need help dealing with an array in my java program. in my first class, "test", I set 4 variables and then send them to my other class (test2). arr[i] = new test2(id, fname, lname, case); at that point, variables are set and then I want to return those variables. So in the test2 class, I have a method that strictly returns one of those variables public int getId(){ return id; } I understand this is a little stupid, but professor gets what professor wants I guess. What I want to do now is in my main method in "test" I want to retrieve that variable and sort the array based on that int. Unfortunately, I have to create my own sort function, but I think this would work for what I want to do. for(j = 0; j < arr.length; j++){ int indexMin =j; for(i = j; i < arr.length;i++){ if(arr[i] < arr[indexMin]){ indexMin = i; } } int tmp = arr[j]; arr[j] = arr[indexMin]; arr[indexMin] = tmp; } I appreciate any help anyone could provide. Thank you

  • Calling and consuming a JBoss Web Service from JavaScript (AJAX)

    - by Andreas Grech
    I am fiddling around with JBOSS's Web Services, and I have created the following: http://127.0.0.1:8080/IM/TestService?wsdl Now I need to access Web Methods from that Web Service from JavaScript. Say I have a web method named foo in TestService, how do I make an ajax call to it? I tried accessing the method via http://127.0.0.1:8080/IM/TestService/foo, but I'm getting an HTTP Status 404.

  • Calling a static Func from a static class using reflection

    - by ChrisO
    Given the static class: public static class Converters { public static Func<Int64, string> Gold = c => String.Format("{0}g {1}s {2}c", c/10000, c/100%100, c%100); } I am receiving the Func name from a database as a string (regEx.Converter). How can I invoke the Gold Func using reflection? Here is what I have so far: var converter = typeof(Converters).GetMember(regEx.Converter); if (converter.Count() != 0) { //throw new ConverterNotFoundException; } matchedValue = converter.Invoke(null, new object[]{matchedValue}) as string;

  • Calling different functions depending on the template parameter c++

    - by Noman Javed
    I want to have something like that class A { public: Array& operator()() { . . . } }; class B { public: Element& operator[](int i) { ... } }; template<class T> class execute { public: output_type = operator()(T& t) { if(T == A) Array out = T()(); else { Array res; for(int i=0 ; i < length; ++i) a[i] = t[i]; } } }; There are two issues here 1. Meta-function replacing if-else in the execute operator() 2. Return type of execute operator() Thanks in anticipation Noman

  • Calling a non-activeX DLL in a VB6 application in Vista/Win7

    - by user1490330
    I have a VB6 app that utilizes a non-activeX DLL (non-registering). It's declared via the classic Public Declare Function "Function Name" Lib "Library.DLL" syntax. On my dev machine (XP) it works fine but when I deploy to Vista or Win7 I'm constantly greeted with a Run Time Error 48 - File Not Found for the DLL in question. I have tried copying that DLL to every directory I can think of including every environment path on the test machine and the app path too. These are all 32-bit test environments so it's not a SysWow64 issue. Possibly throwing a wrench into the mix is the fact that the application in question is an Outlook COM Addin. I managed to install VB6 on Win7 and was able to run a tiny sample app that utilizes this DLL (outside of the Outlook process) so I know it works PROVIDED the DLL is located in App path. If I call App.Path from my DLL when I run it on the test environment it shows, to no surprise, my installation directory however the DLL is there. I tried turning off UAC. I tried making the App.Path directory permissions open to everyone, still no dice.

  • 400 bad request when calling a WCF service via jQuery/Ajax in a IIS7 server

The weird thing is that the same code works in the lab but it wont work in production. Both environments (lab and production) are using the same web.config file. Any ideas? Thank you

  • DRY way of calling a method in every rails model

    - by Tim
    Along the same lines as this question, I want to call acts_as_reportable inside every model so I can do one-off manual reports in the console in my dev environment (with a dump of the production data). What's the best way to do this? Putting acts_as_reportable if ENV['RAILS_ENV'] == "development" in every model is getting tedious and isn't very DRY at all. Everyone says monkey patching is the devil, but a mixin seems overkill. Thanks!

  • calling a dynamic function in javascript

    - by scatman
    is it possible to call a dynamic method in javascript. ie suppose i have in my page 2 methods as such: function id1_add() { return 1; } function id2_add() { return 2; } i also have this function: function add() { var s1='id1'; s1+'_add()'; //??? } is it possible to call for example id1_add() in such: s1+'_add()'; so the method call depends on a previous string?

  • Calling HttpRequest::getRawRequestMessage() without send()

    - by danielgrad
    I am trying to call getRawRequestMessage() to get the raw HTTP content of the request described by a HttpRequest object, but I notice it always returns an empty string if I don't call send() first. Which kind of defeats my purpose (I want to send the data through other means than the HttpRequest's own send() method). Is there any other way to convert a HttpRequest object to it's raw string equivalent? To give more context: I'm working with a complex class that builds a HttpRequest object and sends requests through it and I want to add a new mode to the class that will work through raw sockets instead. The request is already built in the HttpRequest object and I would like to not have to parse the object manually to generate the HTTP message.

  • Calling a jQuery plugin inside itself

    - by Real Tuty
    I am trying to create a comet like thing. I have a plugin that collects data from a php page. The problem is that i dont know how to call the plugin inside itself. If it were a function i could go like this: function j () {setTimeout(j(), 1000);}, but i am using a jQuery plugin. Here is my plugin code: (function($) { $.fn.watch = function(ops) { var $this_ = this, setngs = $.extend({ 'type' : 'JSON', 'query' : 'GET', 'url' : '', 'data' : '', 'wait' : 1000 }, ops); if (setngs.type === '') { return false; } else if (setngs.query === '') { return false; } else if (setngs.url === '') { return false; } else if (setngs.wait === '') { return false; } else if (setngs.wait === 0) { setngs.wait = 1000; } var xhr = $.ajax({ type : setngs.query, dataType : setngs.type, url : setngs.url, success : function(data) { var i = 0; for (i = 0; i < data.length; i++) { var html = $this_.html(), str = '<li class="post" id="post-' + data[i].id + '"><div class="inner"><div class="user">' + data[i].user + '</div><div class="body">' + data[i].body + '</div></div></li>'; $this_.html(str + html); } setTimeout($this_, 1000); } }); }; })(jQuery); where it says setTimeout($this_, 1000); this is where im having trouble. I don't know what to call the plugin as. $this_ is what I thought might work but I am wrong. That is what i need to replace. Thanks for your help.

  • Calling functions outside paths

    - by user1775718
    In mongojs, when you do: var birds = db.birds.find(searchTerm, callback); ...how do you pass arguments to the callback? I've tried bind, as in: birds = db.birds.find(searchTerm, app.get('getBirds').bind(res)); ...but to no avail. Just fyi I'm trying to pass the response object of the GET route so that the callback can render using res.send(results). The other option is to set app.set('res': res); and call app.get('res') from the callback - I'm not sure this is a good idea. It works, but it doesn't obey the events loop model too well - I think the request back to the app may be costly? Any help would be gratefully accepted. :)

  • Calling consecutive java tasks in a shell script

    - by Bigtwinz
    Hi all, This may be a rudimentary question but the answer was not readily available. I'd like to create a shell script that calls 3 tasks consecutively, but wait till the previous task is complete. Like so: a. call first Java program via ant b. call third party Java application c. call third Java program via ant I'm wondering if there is a way to check and ensure a. is done before b. is called and same for b. and c. thanks

  • Getting 0x80131902 when calling COM+ component

    - by Kyle W
    I created a COM+ component in .Net. It needs to use a configuration file, so I've created a directory with an application.manifest and application.config file and set that as the Application Root Directory. Now when I try to create an instance of that object, I get the following HRESULT: 0x80131902. I can't seem to find exactly what this means, except that there is a problem loading the app-domain. If I don't set the Application Root Directory, it loads just fine (but doesn't have access to the config).

  • Objective-C and Cocoa : crash when calling a class function without entering the function

    - by Oliver
    Hello, I have a class function (declared and implemented) in a class MyUtils : + (NSString*) theFunction:(NSString*)param1 param2:(NSString*)param2 param3:(NSString*)param3; When I call this function, with : NSString *item = [MyUtils theFunction:@"abc" param2:aPreviousNSString param3:@"xyz"; my app crashes. In the debugger I have a breakpoint on the first action of the "theFunction" function. And this breakpoint is never reached. If I replace the call by NSString *item = @"youyou"; then everything is ok. Forcing a retain on aPreviousNSString before the call does not change anything. Do you have an idea of what is happening ? Thanks

  • Calling C# code from Java?

    - by Keith G
    Does anyone have a good solution for integrating some C# code into a java application? The code is small, so I could re-write in java, but I would rather reuse the code if possible. Don't repeat yourself, etc. Also, I know I can expose the C# as a web service or whatever, but it has some security/encryption stuff in there, so I would rather keep it tightly integrated if possible. Edit: It's going to be on a server-based app, so "downloading" another runtime is irrelevant.
