  • Windows 7 Won't connect to Wireless Router too far away (but still have 3 bars)

    I have found this problem a couple of times. Windows 7 with Intel AGN 5100 won't connect to a WPA2-PSK router when it's too far away. Both times I've had this happen I was in a foreign country (London and Stockholm), and both times I was upstairs while the router was downstairs. Now, it still has 2-3 bars when looking at local WiFi, but I get the "will not connect" error, and debugging doesn't help at all (it doesn't know what's wrong). I went downstairs and it connected immediately (but I need to be able to have it upstairs). My Android Cell Phone and iPad were able to connect upstairs just fine. Any suggestions?

How do I connect the windows xp that is in virtual box to the local computer (windows 7) in a network. Because I got this error while I tried following this instruction: Give the IP address, username and password of the remote machine that you would like to convert and then hit next I got this error in vmware converter: Unable to connect the specified host 10.0.2.15 which is the ip address of the xp machine inside virtual box. It also said that there is a network configuration problem. And when I inputted the ip address from whatismyip.com which should be the same as the ip address on local machine. I didn't get the previous error but I got another one, it said that: insufficient permissions to connect to "ip address" What solution can you suggest for this problem?

    I have a FTP server (vsftpd) setuped on a Linux box (Ubuntu server). When I try to connect with a computer on the same network everything works fine as expected. But as soon the IP is external it won't connect.. I first assumed the port was blocked, but then: localserver:$ sudo tail -f /var/log/vsftpd.log Wed Jan 13 14:21:17 2010 [pid 2407] CONNECT: Client "xxx.xxx.107.4" remotemachine:$ netcat svn-motion.no-ip.biz 21 220 FTP Server And it hangs there. Do any ports other than 21 need to be open?

    I used to connect via a Sitecom WL-174 directly to ADSL internet. There were some pc's which connected wirelessly and some connected with a wire. Now we got another provider and we need to use the router which came with it. It is also a wireless router. It works perfectly. But I need to connect the other pc's which were connected with a wire previously. Is it possible to connect the Sitecom router wirelessly to the other router? If so, how? Thanks.

    I use rdesktop to connect to a windows server 2012r2 from my linux box. it worked well. but it doesn't work when I redirected my local directory /home to the server. My command: rdesktop -a 24 -r disk:home=/home -u test 192.168.1.110 I could connect to the Windows server. but I cannot see the directory in my remote computer. Running net use x: \\tsclient\home' works when I connect to windows 7, but it yields this error in windows server 2012r2: system error 87 has occure the parameter is error I have no idea what to do. I have turned off the firewall and deployed the RemoteFX to enable device redirection.

    Usually, I use the network connections icon on the top bar to connect to VPN. The connection is configured properly and it connects well. Configuration screen shot is given below. As you can see I have selected the 'Connect automatically' option. But this option doesn't help in connecting to VPN automatically upon login. This is my university VPN and it uses 'Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)' for authentication I need to connect to the VPN using command line, so that I can write a script and run it at start up, so the connection is automatically established every time I login. This will also help in connecting to VPN when I login from 'init 3' mode. I depend on this VPN connection for my internet access. Please help me with the required commands.

  • Windows 7 cannot connect wirelessly to Netgear Router WPN824 V2

    I have a new HP Laptop running Win 7 Home Premium with an Atheros Wireless card. I have a Negear WPN824 V2 Rangemax Router. The router works with a wired connection. Wirelessly it can see the network but it cannot connect. I have searched the web and the WPN824 seems to work for some people, but I cannot get it to connect. I have tried disabling Bonjour Service and a few other things but it continues not to connect. Am I probably correct to assume that the WPN824 is somehow incompatible with Wiondows 7? or am I missing some simple change I should make?

    Hi all, I am building a simple facebook iframe application. I've decided since the code is separate from facebook none the less, I will also create a connect website as well. In my connect website I'm trying to figure out the following: I am using facebook's new api and I am calling the init function. I can't seem to figure out where I combine my cross-domain file.     I need to allow a consultant to connect to SSIS on a SQL Server 2008 box without making him a local administrator. If I add him to the local administrators group, he can connect to SSIS just fine, but it seems that I can't grant him enough permissions through SQL Server to give him these rights without being a local admin. I've added him to every role on the server, every database role in MSDB shy of DBO, and he's still not able to connect. I don't see any SSIS-related Windows groups on the server - Is membership in the Local Administrators group really required to connect to the SSIS instance on a SQL Server? It seems like there is somewhere I should be able to grant "SSIS Admin" rights to a user (even if it's a Windows account and not a SQL account), but I can't find that place. UPDATE: I've found an MSDN article (See the section titled "Eliminating the 'Access if Denied' Error") that describes how to resolve problem, but even after following the stepsI'm still not able to connect.     I'm trying to connect to a mySQL database at http://bluesql.net, but when I try to connect, it gives this error: Connect Error (2000) mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1+ using old authentication I've looked into this, and it has to do with some old password scheme used before MySQL 4.1. Newer versions have the option to use old passwords, which I've read may cause this problem. I'm running php 5.3, and connecting with mySQLi (new mysqli(...)). I'm hoping I can do something in the code to connect to the DB at bluesql.net - clearly I don't control how their database is set up. Downgrading php versions isn't an option. Anyone have any ideas?

Lets assume my MySQL host as "bigboy.com.br" The funny part is, from my local machine, on my test server, the script can connect to the MySQL server normally. But on the dedicated server where MySQL is running, the same PHP script gives me "Access denied for 'root'@'bigboy.com.br'" error.

    I have installed PC suite 7.1 and cable CA-42 and trying to connect the mobile as a modem to send and receive sms but the mobile is not connecting with the pc. I have installed the nokia 6020 modem driver. I am running windows XP 64-bit operation system. While i connect phone to a USB port it prompts new hardware found and go for installation of required software but installation of new hardware getting failed.

    I am trying to connect my Microsoft Surface tablet to an ad-hoc network that I setup on my Windows-7 desktop machine. The Surface machine can see and connect to other hotspots, but it cannot see the ad-hoc network, whereas a second Windows-7 laptop sitting next to the Surface machine can see it. What would cause the ad-hoc network to be visible to Windows 7 but not to Surface? Additional data: Windows-7 is on domain, but Surface is not.
