• JSR-299 CDI / Weld vs. Google Guice

  Weld, the JSR-299 Contexts and Dependency Injection reference implementation, considers itself as a kind of successor of Spring and Guice. CDI was influenced by a number of existing Java frameworks, including Seam, Guice and Spring. However, CDI has its own, very distinct, character: more typesafe than Seam, more stateful and less XML-centric than Spring, more web and enterprise-application capable than Guice. But it couldn't have been any of these without inspiration from the frameworks mentioned and lots of collaboration and hard work by the JSR-299 Expert Group (EG). http://docs.jboss.org/weld/reference/latest/en-US/html/1.html What makes Weld more capable for enterprise application compared to Guice?   SO I wish to check to see if the item in my array [clientDataArray objectForKey:@"ClientCompany"] is nil. temp = [clientDataArray objectForKey:@"ClientCompany"]; if (temp != [NSNull null]) infofieldCompany.text = temp; So far I have been able to achieve this through the above code, but it does give me the warnings warning: 'NSArray' may not respond to'-objectForKey:' warning: comparison of distinct Objective-C types 'struct NSNull *' and 'struct NSString *' lacks a cast My main interest is the second warning, but the first warning also interest me. How should I adapt my above code?

I have written a query that simply joins them, but in the case that the forum cache table contains an unapproved forum id, it will simply not return the entire row. what I really need is for query1 and query2 to be left joined on the category id, and for query 3 to be left outer joined on id = catID.

  Hi, I'm just starting out with NHibernate and I'm having trouble with running more complex queries. I have entities with a list of tags attached. The user will provide two lists of tags, include and exclude. I need to find all the entities that have all of the include tags, and exclude any entites that have any tag in the exclude list. Below is my first effort- which is clearly wrong as its listing all Display objects that have any of the include tags rather than all!   How have I to implement IEqualityComparer<DataRow> to remove duplicates rows from a DataTable with next structure: ID primary key, col_1, col_2, col_3, col_4 The default comparer doesn't work because each row has it's own, unique primary key. How to implement IEqualityComparer<DataRow> that will skip primary key and compare only data remained. • Too Many Different Cell Formats

  I have a massive file with 10 sheets recreated from scratch, 12 sheets updated, 5 sheets loaded with raw data, and 7 sheets that are used by the macros for the report. I have recently added a new sheet and am running into the Excel "Too many different cell formats" problem. I have read some of the google search results and they say I should simplify the formatting, but I don't even know how I got up to 4000 distinct cell formats, let alone how much I'm using which ones, so I can remove some. It is also popping up some times the file is run, but not all, until such time as it comes up, and then it happens every time it is run. Since the macro is doing so much of the work, including creating the 10 sheets from scratch, I am not sure what to do. Does anyone know of a Macro I could run to get a listing of all the cell formats and how many cells are using them? Does anyone know of a program they trust to help remove excess cell formats? Here what i'd like to be able to do : Have an enum Species made of CAT and DOG wich would grant me access to sub enums of the available CAT and DOG breeds. For example, i'd like to be able to test if wether a CAT or a DOG and if an animal is a PERSAN CAT or a PITBULL DOG. • Animating a CALayer's mask size change

  I have a UIView subclass which uses a CAShapeLayer mask on its CALayer. The mask uses a distinct shape, with three rounded corners and a cut out rectangle in the remaining corner. When I resize my UIView using a standard animation block, the UIView itself and its CALayer resize just fine. The mask, however, is applied instantly, which leads to some drawing issues. I've tried animating the mask's resizing using a CABasicAnimation but didn't have any luck getting the resizing animated. Can I somehow achieve an animated resizing effect on the mask? Do I need to get rid of the mask, or will I have to change something about the way I currently draw the mask (using - (void)drawInContext:(CGContextRef)ctx). Cheers, Alex

  I have avoided working with fetchxml as I have been unsure the best way to handle the result data after calling crmService.Fetch(fetchXml).   The query... select distinct name from myTable returns a bunch of values that start with the following character sequences... ADL* FG* FH* LAS* TWUP* Where '*' is the remainder of the string. I want to do an order by that sorts in the following manner... ADL* LAS* TWUP* FG* FH* But then I also want to sort within each name in the standard order by fashion. So, an example, if I have the following values LAS-21A TWUP-1 FG999 FH3 ADL99999 ADL88888 ADL77777 LAS2 I want it to be sorted like this... ADL77777 ADL88888 ADL99999 LAS2 TWUP-1 FG999 FH3 I initially thought I could accomplish this vias doing an order by decode(blah) with some like trickery inside of the decode but I've been unable to accomplish it. Any insights?

  Say I want to model a system where a piece of data can have multiple tags (e.g. a question on a StackOverflow is the data, it's set of tags are the tags). I can model this in Django with the following: class Tag(models.Model): name = models.CharField(10) class Data(models.Model): tags = models.ManyToManyField(Tag) Given a set of strings, what's the best way to go about finding all Data objects that have one of these strings as the name of a tag in their tag list. I've come up with the following, but can't help thinking there is a more "Djangonic" way. I have: an UIViewController A UIView B: I added subview which is a UIView to the UIViewController A an UIViewController C What I did is: in UIViewController A's viewDidLoad's method, I call this: UIView *subviewB = [[Subview alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [subviewB subviewBMethod]; // [self.view addSubview:rsubviewB]; SubviewBMethod code is to create an view, inside this view have a button. Once this button is clicked, it will change to UIViewController C. I tried this: [self presentModalViewController:self.UIViewControllerC animated:YES]; And I got this error message: warning: incompatible Objective-C types 'struct UIViewControllerC *', expected 'struct UIViewController *' when passing argument 1 of 'presentModalViewController:animated:' from distinct Objective-C type When I run the app, it terminates immediately when I click the button, I opened the console bug, there is no any error message. • How to setup matlab for parallel processing on Amazon EC2?

  I just setup a Extra Large Heavy Computation EC2 instance to throw it at my Genetic Algorithms problem, hoping to speed up things. This instance has 8 Intel Xeon processors (around 2.4Ghz each) and 7 Gigs of RAM. On my machine I have an Intel Core Duo, and matlab is able to work with my two cores just fine. On the EC2 instance though, matlab only is capable of detecting 1 out of 8 processors. Obviously the difference is that I have my 2 cores on a single processor, while the EC2 instance has 8 distinct processors. My question is, how do I get matlab to work with those 8 processors? I found this paper, but it seems related to setting up matlab with multiple EC2 instances, which is not my problem. Any help appreciated!

• Drupal Views Multiple values being returned when using a relationship

  I am having a problem with views. I have a view and am passing it a taxonomy term by name to it. I then have a relationship to a related node. For my output fields I am returning the related Title and related Body. I however have duplicates in my results. I have turned distinct to yes but believe this is working on the nodes being return and not the related node. Any ideas how I can remove the duplicates?

  Hi, I'm trying to comprehend ontology basics. Here's an example: car (class) 2009 VW CC (sub-class or instance?) My neighbor's 2009 VW CC (instance) My issue is understanding what is "2009 VW CC" (as a car model). If you're making product model a sub-class in the ontology - all of a sudden your ontology becomes bloated with thousands of subclasses of a "car". That's redundant. At the same time we can't say "2009 VW CC" is an instance, at least it's not material instance of a class. Does it make sense to distinguish between regular instances and material (distinct physical objects)? At the other hand, if both are instances (of different nature so to say), then how can instance inherit properties / relations of a non-class?

Obviously, the programs on cassette tapes made a very distinct sound (er... noise) when playing the tape... I was wondering if someone still had those tapes? The reason (and the reason this Q is programming related) is that IIRC different languages made somewhat different pitched noises, but I would like to run the tape and listen myself to confirm if that was really the case...

  Hi, i have an big problem with an SQL Statement in Oracle. I want to select The TOP 10 Records ordered by STORAGE_DB wich arent in a list from an other select statement. This one works fine for all records: SELECT DISTINCT APP_ID, NAME, STORAGE_GB, HISTORY_CREATED, TO_CHAR(HISTORY_DATE, 'DD.MM.YYYY') AS HISTORY_DATE FROM HISTORY WHERE STORAGE_GB IS NOT NULL AND APP_ID NOT IN (SELECT APP_ID FROM HISTORY WHERE TO_CHAR(HISTORY_DATE, 'DD.MM.YYYY') = '06.02.2009') But when i am adding AND ROWNUM <= 10 ORDER BY STORAGE_GB DESC im getting some kind of "random" Records. I think because the limit takes in place before the order. Does someone has an good solution? The other problem: This query is realy slow (10k+ records)

  Hi, I am looking for a easy to use and deploy sql type database i can ship with a desktop application. This will be a small application user's can download from my website. In the vb6 days, access was the common database for small desktop apps, what is my option these days? Looking at SQL CE it seems to have a quite a few limitations such as count(distinct) etc SQL express needs to be installed and running as a service (could i include the SQL express deployments in my deployment so the user doesn't even know its been installed? I assume size would then be an issue) SQL 2005/2008 is not an option due to size and licensing restrictions. I would like to use c#, wpf and entity framework. What would seem to be the best options based on your knowledge and experience? Thanks

  Hi, I'm trying to write a stored proc (SP) in Sybase. The SP takes 5 varchar parameters. Based on the parameters passed, I want to construct the column names to be selected from a particular table.   On a MVC 2 website what I want to do is get a list of products / CategoryId. From that list, create a list of distinct CategoryId's. Then randomly pick a categoryId from the second list and use it to get all the products for that categoryId. I then want to store that CategoryId so that I don't display those products on the next run. I don't need any code examples to start. What I'm wondering is that I think I would put this code in a class in my model (Dll) and store the list of displayed CategoryId's in session. Is this a good solution or should I go another way? Is IDEA all wet here, or is there a valid issue with the query? And what is the actual preferred alternative syntax for such a query?
