  • How to remove "Standard Error" column from xtable() output of an lm on R/RSweave/LaTeX

    I'm currently doing some data analysis on population data, so reporting the standard errors in the tables of parameter coefficients just doesn't really make statistical sense. I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find any way to customize the xtable output to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot, I didn't post this lightly; if it's something obvious, I apologize for having wasted time!

  • standard c library for escaping a string.

    Is there a standard C library function to escape C-strings? For example, if I had the C string: char example[] = "first line\nsecond line: \"inner quotes\""; And I wanted to print "first line\nsecond line: \"inner quotes\"" Is there a library function that will do that transformation for me? Rolling my own just seems a little silly. Bonus points if I can give it a length to escape (so it stops before or beyond the \0).

  • Obtaining standard port for arbitrary protocols in PHP

    I'm looking for a function that will accept a string representing the scheme portion of a URL (e.g., "http", "https", "ftp", etc.) and return the standard port. It might be used like this: echo get_port_from_protocol("http"); // 80 As a last resort, I suppose I could write something to parse through /etc/services (assuming I only need to run under UNIX-like operating systems). But surely there must be something built-in to PHP, no?

  • DNS something is wrong?

    Hello I am configuring bind9 on a server with two network interfaces, one is connected to the LAN and the other is connected to the Internet through NAT so bind is not faced directly to the Internet. Everything seems to work fine, clients can do both forward and reverse lookups but somethings seems strange. On the server if i try to ping www.google.com one time, a great amount of network activity is genereated, alot more that one would expect so i decided to sniff the traffic with tcpdump. When loading the dump into Wireshark i can see about 250 entries with "Standard query A" and "Standard query response" Here a some of the entries from the dump DNS Standard query A www.google.com DNS Standard query A blackhole-1.iana.org DNS Standard query A blackhole-2.iana.org DNS Standard query response DNS Standard query A ns2.isc-sns.com DNS Standard query A ns1.isc-sns.net DNS Standard query A ns3.isc-sns.info DNS Standard query response PTR b.iana-servers.net RRSIG DNS Standard query A auth2.dns.cogentco.com DNS Standard query A ns1.crsnic.net DNS Standard query A ns2.nsiregistry.net DNS Standard query A ns3.verisign-grs.net DNS Standard query A ns4.verisign-grs.net DNS Standard query PTR 79.52.19.199.in-addr.arpa I do not have too much experince with DNS yet, but i am pretty sure that something is wrong.   • TFS webtest for SSRS reports issue

    I am creating webtests in TFS and trying to test reports execution in SSRS. When I record the initial process, it includes Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd files. These files are what is causing the problem. When I remove the files, the report does not display, however if I keep the AXD files in it works fine. The problem with keeping the AXD files is the reportsession querystring variable that are included. If I run the report after a bit the reportsession has obviously changed. Any help is appreciated.

    I know that some people consider the presence of a leading underscore to imply that a variable is "private," that such privacy is a fiction, and assume this is why JSLint reports such names with an error message. I use Google Analytics on a Web site I am building. I make reference to GA's variables, such as "_gaq." I am trying to get my JS code to be 100% JSLint clean (I'm not religious about my coding style, and so will go with Mr. Crockford's counsel). That said, I can't do anything about Google's variables names... so, I guess I can't get 100% "clean." I post here in case I've misunderstood the message, and can do something to comply with JSLint practices.

    I'm tasked with automating the retrieval of a couple of BusinessObjects Web Intelligence reports and further processing thereof. I have no other means of access to this data (this was the first avenue I followed), so I will have to do some screen scraping. Alas, the interface seems user-only. Grr! Has anyone done this before? Like to share? Also, does anyone know of a good library for automating the web browser? I know there is a python thingy out there that can be used for testing web applications - I need something in .NET though... What is your favorite? PS: I have also checked this thread (automate getting report from webpage), but am hoping for a Web Intelligence specific sollution.

How can I make so that mouse clicks are only reported when the control is enabled? Thanks.

    My App requires Daily reports based on various user activities. My current design does not sum the daily totals in database, which means I must compute them everytime. For example A report that shows Top 100 users based on the number of submissions they have made on a given day. For such a report If I have 50,000 users, what is the best way to create daily report? How to create monthly and yearly report with such data? If this is not a good design, then how to deal with such design decision when the metrics of the report are not clear during db design and by the time it is clear we already have huge data with limited parameters (fields). Please advice.

    I've got a database with pre-aggregated metrics similar to the one outlined in this use case: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/use-cases/pre-aggregated-reports/ I have a daily collection with a subdocument for hour and minute metrics, and a 'metadata.date' entry for midnight on the day it represents. I also have a monthly collection with a day subdocument for each day. If I want to get an average of a metric over the past eight or so days how can I do that with the aggregation framework? Is the aggregation framework not the right tool for this since it's already pre-aggregated?

    I am wondering if there is anything built in to Silverlight, or possibly c# to allow for printing reports? I'd be happy with any number of methods: exporting files to a pdf format and printing from there, exporting as a text document of some sort and printing from there, or just simply showing the print dialog from the web application itself. I know there are ways to do this in C#, but the c# code-behind is different for many things in Silverlight applications and I can't seem to find anything that will work. So if anyone has any ideas on things I could try it would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

  • Switching between multiple reports (.rdlc) in a single report viewer

    I have 2 reports, "report1.rdlc" and "report2.rdlc" and I want to be able to swap betweent the 2 of them in a single report viewer ("rv_1"). I also have 3 buttons: btn_1 which does: rv_1.LocalReport.ReportEmbeddedResource = "Application1.Report1.rdlc" rv_1.RefreshReport() btn_2 which does: rv_1.LocalReport.ReportEmbeddedResource = "Application1.Report2.rdlc" rv_1.RefreshReport() btn_3 which does: dim rds as new ReportDataSource rds.name = rds.value = rv_1.reset() rv_1.LocalReport.DataSources.add(rds) rv_1.RefreshReport() Now no matter what I put for rds.name and rds.value it leaves me with "A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'dataSetName_TableName'. So my question is; what do I need to put there in order to get this to work correctly?

    I'm working on a Report in Oracle Reports Builder, and having issues with my AFTERPFORM trigger. When viewing the report, it seems like the year is being processed properly, while the period and subperiod are using their initial values. I'm confused because they are the exact same select statement, but are not working as intended.   • What new Unicode functions are there in C++0x?

    It has been mentioned in several sources that C++0x will include better language-level support for Unicode(including types and literals). If the language is going to add these new features, it's only natural to assume that the standard library will as well. However, I am currently unable to find any references to the new standard library. I expected to find out the answer for these answers: Does the new library provide standard methods to convert UTF-8 to UTF-16, etc.? Does the new library allowing writing UTF-8 to files, to the console (or from files, from the console). If so, can we use cout or will we need something else? Does the new library include "basic" functionality such as: discovering the byte count and length of a UTF-8 string, converting to upper-case/lower-case(does this consider the influence of locales?) Finally, are any of these functions are available in any popular compilers such as GCC or Visual Studio? I have tried to look for information, but I can't seem to find anything? I am actually starting to think that maybe these things aren't even decided yet(I am aware that C++0x is a work in progress).

    Hi friends, Say, I have a server that handles file based mass data and can process thousands of read requests and hundreds of provisioning requests(Add, modify, delete) per second. This is not SQL based database. Now i planned to implement replication. There should be master- master replication, master slave replication, partial replication(entries matching a criteria) and fractional replication(part of an entry).     I just installed GNUstep on my Windows XP machine and I'm attempting to compile the following Objective-C Hello World program from the command line: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> int main(int argc, const char *argv[]) { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; NSLog(@"Hello world\n"); [pool drain]; return 0; } When I try to compile the program from the command line like so gcc hello.m -o hello I end up getting the following error hello.m:1:34: Foundation/Foundation.h: No such file or directory Is there something I need to do order to inform the compiler of where the standard Objective-C libraries are located?

  • Silverlight standard loading animation does not get displayed.

    Can anybody enlighten me as to how the standard Silverlight loading animations (the swirling blue balls) are embedded in a Silverlight application and how they work? I currently don't see it although loading the xap takes long enough for the loading animation to be displayed. The problem is that I'm creating a xap dynamically and trying to write it to the Response Stream which might somehow interfere with the way most Silverlight applications work. So maybe there's something missing from the original aspx page or ClientBin that should be there that has been lost by accident. I haven't found any helpful information about how the loading animation is integrated into Silverlight that could help me debug the problem so far. Does anyone know what the animation needs to triggered as expected?

  • nohup SBCL ubuntu couldn't read from standard input

    On Ubuntu I compiled sbcl 1.0.35 with threading. I can happily use sbcl from the command line and my hunchentoot website works with threading but when I logout it's gone. When I attempt to nohup sbcl nohup ./src/runtime/sbcl --core output/sbcl.core I get (SB-IMPL::SIMPLE-STREAM-PERROR "couldn't read from ~S" # 9) I've attempted various combinations of redirecting the standard input to /dev/null or a file and using the script command line option but I don't quite get what is going on. How do I start sbcl from the command line on linux with nohup and keep my repl(website) running?
