What is the best way to do this? Are there existing plugins/tools available, or should I write my own custom plugin?

    Hi I have a wp installation with a static main page and posts page with the name articles. My url rewirte string within wordpress is set to: /%postname% , and my htaccess file is set as follows: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] When I browse to the articles page, my url rewrite looks like this: example.com/articles/page/5 I would like to get a setting as follows: example.com/articles/article/the-article-name how would I achive this?

  • WordPress deactivate a plugin via database?

    I have a wordpress script, wp-supercache, that I need to disable (as its cached on a nasty error), however, the error is causing the wp-admin redirect to fail, which means I can't get into the site to disable the plugin. Any advice? I can access the database via cpanel.

    Hi, so currently i'm using pods to create some individual pages for a log, filled with custom stuff. now i want to use the comments-system for each of this pages e.g.: mydomain.com/podpages/page1 mydomain.com/podpages/page2 mydomain.com/podpages/page3 this are not pages created with wordpress so simply adding <?php comments_template(); ?> is not working. any ideas how to solve this problem? thanks in advance please leave a comment if something is unclear :)

  • Debug irrelevant Wordpress search results

    On Wordpress, I keep getting irrelevant search results. Some search strings that do not exist on the DB yield All Posts as results. Some search strings that DO exist, works great. What could be the cause of that behavior? I've uninstalled all related plugins. Is there a way to debug the search? Thanks!

    I am creating a twitter plugin for wordpress and I was told that when using oauth you can't really make the plugin act natively because each time the user installs the plugin they have to add their own twitter api credentials because of the callback url. The default icon that's used next to your menu label is called generic.png and resides in the wp-admin/images directory. Anyone know how to tell WP to use my theme's custom favicon.png instead of the default?

My problem is that: test.asifa.net/asifa-wp Redirects to: test.asifa.net/asifa-wp/ Which redirects to the first page.     I'm wanting to order Wordpress posts by the most recent comment. To the best of my knowledge this isn't possible using the WP_Query object, and would require a custom $wpdb query, which I can easily write. However, I then don't know how to setup the loop to run off this object. Can anyone help?
