  Hi I am having a problem debugging an issue on a website. Everything works locally, the local and server databases are the same The strange thing about the error is that it points to my local dev machine in the error stack. Is that crazy or what, The files are published and being hosted on a server machine and the error is pointing to a line of code on my local dev box. I feel like I am losing the plot.   I know that MongoDB can scale vertically. What about if I running out of disk? I am currently using EC2 with EBS. As you know, I have to assign EBS for a fixed size. What if the mongodb growth bigger than the EBS size? Do I have to create a larger EBS and Copy & Paste the files? Or shall we start more MongoDB instance and each connect to different EBS disk? In such case, I could connect to a different instance for different databases.

As I'm designing my schema, I'm concerned about this statement from the MongoDB Schema Design - Embed vs. Reference Documentation: If the amount of data to embed is huge (many megabytes), you may read the limit on size of a single object. This will surely happen if I understand the statement correctly. So the question is, I am correct to assume that I should not embed the Feed Entries within a Feed because I'll eventually reach the limit on size of a single object?

Relevant range is from 0 - 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 (the upper limit for signed 64 bit integer). The number of decimal places for abbreviation will be positive.   I'm not sure how it is using other frameworks but this questions is strictly regarding Java swing. Is it better to use a Visual Editor to place objects or to manually code the placement of the objects onto the frame (Layout managers or null layouts)? From my experience I've had a lot of trouble using Visual editors when it comes to different screen resolutions or changing the window size. Using manual code to place objects I've found that my GUIs behave a lot better with regard to the screen size issue. However when I want to change a small part of my GUI it takes a lot more work compared to using a visual editor Just wondering what people's thoughts were on this?

  Hello, I was wondering, when is the right time or the correct project size to start using project management applications ( like Redmine or Trac ). I have a serious project, for now it's only me developing, but I use redmine to set my project versions, issues, and estimations. I think it's a good idea, because you never know when somebody else is going to join the team, and also allows me to organize myself effectively. I ask this question because I was Teaching Assistant at my university for one year in a row for a course, and I got questions about this very very often. While I'm a believer of the KISS principle, I think that learning to use this tools early is a win-win most of the time. I really believe that we can avoid this question to become argumentative, and that there's somewhat of a consensus about this issue, which I consider quite important in todays software development world. So, when is the right time ? what is the correct project/team size ?

  Hi everyone, I have a counter hash that I am trying to sort by count. The problem I am running into is that the default Hash.sort function sorts numbers like strings rather than by number size. i.e. Given Hash: metrics = {"sitea.com" => 745, "siteb.com" => 9, "sitec.com" => 10 } Running this code: metrics.sort {|a1,a2| a2[1]<=>a1[1]} will return a sorted array: [ 'siteb.com', 9, 'sitea.com', 745, 'sitec.com', 10] Even though 745 is a larger number than 9, 9 will appear first in the list. When trying to show who has the top count, this is making my life difficult. :) Any ideas on how to sort a hash (or an array even) by number value size? I appreciate any help.

When I click on the jar, it did not launch the application as if nothing is clocked. But, it can be run from the project. And also, the size of the Jframe for desktop Java application cannot be set from the NetBeans code also. When it runs, the size of the window different from in the designer. Any help please.

• AsyncListViewAdapter + SimplePager, why is inactive pager clearing the table?

  I'm trying to make CellTable work together with AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T>. The data gets displayed, but when the pager should be 'deaf' (meaning when all existing data are displayed) it still receives clicks and, more importantly, makes the displayed data go away. Instead of my data 'loading' indicator gets displayed, and it keep loading and loading... Obviously nothing gets loaded, as it doesn't even call the onRangeChanged handler. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see anything suspicions on what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake? • Hibernate Lazy init exception in spring scheduled job

  I have a spring scheduled job (@Scheduled) that sends emails from my system according to a list of recipients in the DB. This method is annotated with the @Scheduled annotation and it invokes a method from another interface, the method in the interface is annotated with the @Transactional annotation. Now, when i invoke the scheduled method manually, it works perfectly. But when the method is invoked by spring scheduler i get the LazyInitFailed exception in the method implementing the said interface. • Extract co-ordinates from a vector of co-ordinates and save to file

  I have a vector which contains a list co-ordinates ...x1,y1 ; x2,y2....xn,yn I am trying to extract each individual element which is a co-ordinate and then save them to file as a nice delineated co-ord pair which can be easily read. Or what would be nice i to save them so I can plot something in excel e.t.c (as cols of x and y values). My original vector size is 31, and was originally constructed as vector<vector<Point> > myvector( previous vector.size() ); Thanks !

  I'm trying to create a set of overloaded templates for arrays/pointers where one template will be used when the compiler knows the size of the array and the other template will be used when it doesn't: template <typename T, size_t SZ> void moo(T (&arr)[SZ]) { ... } template <typename T> void moo(T *ptr) { ... } The problem is that when the compiler knows the size of the array, the overloads are ambiguous and the compile fails. Is there some way to resolve the ambiguity (perhaps via SFINAE) or is this just not possible.

  Hello. My task was as follows : Create class Person with char*name and int age. Implement contructor using dynamic allocation of memory for variables, destructor, function init and friend function show. Then transform this class to header and cpp file and implement in other program. Ok so I've almost finished my Person class, but I get error after destructor. • tcpdf - HTML table showing up way too small

  Hi folks. I'm using tcpdf (http://www.tcpdf.org/) to generate PDFs of some tables and images. The images are loaded without an issue, but I'm having issues with the writeHTML() function. I can't seem to control the font sizes or table width/height through the HTML, so I end up with a tiny, tiny, tiny table that you have to print of and squint at to even attempt reading. I've tried editing the table itself, CSS, even putting the table itself inside an h1, but nothing is changing the font size. I have the font size in tcpdf set to 16, but this also has no affect. Has anyone else run into this issue?

• Are rems replacing ems in CSS?

  I was reading about rem units in CSS3, and was a little confused. If you use rem, do you still use em or does that replace it? For example: .selector { margin-bottom:24px; margin-bottom:2.4rem; font-size:16px; font-size:1.6rem; } or .selector { margin-bottom:24px; margin-bottom:2.4em; margin-bottom:2.4rem; } Just trying to figure out if rem takes the place of em, or if it's just another unit.
