• Jboss 5.1.0: java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation for class javax.sql.DataSource

  have read quite a lot about this error, the reason is 1) more than one jar containing this class have been include into the classpath, 2)include the jar twice or more, but in my case, this class is • numpy calling sse2 via ctypes

  Hello, In brief, I am trying to call into a shared library from python, more specifically, from numpy. The shared library is implemented in C using sse2 instructions. Enabling optimisation, i.e. building the library with -O2 or –O1, I am facing strange segfaults when calling into the shared library via ctypes. Disabling optimisation (-O0), everything works out as expected, as is the case when linking the library to a c-program directly (optimised or not). Attached you find a snipped which exhibits the delineated behaviour on my system. With optimisation enabled, gdb reports a segfault in __builtin_ia32_loadupd (__P) at emmintrin.h:113. However, when calling the function via ctypes using _mm_load_pd always segfaults (independent of optimisation). • segmented controls mangled during initial transition animation

  greetings and salutations folks, i'm relatively new to objective c & iphone programming, so bare with me if i've overlooked something obvious.. i created a simple app to play with the different transition animations, setting up a couple segmented controls and a slider.. (Flip/Curl), (left/right) | (up/down), (EaseInOut/EaseIn/EaseOut/Linear) i created a view controller class, and the super view controller switches between 2 instances of the sub class. as you can see from the following image, the first time switching to the 2nd instance, while the animation is occurring the segmented controls are mangled; i'd guess they haven't had enuff time to draw themselves completely.. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2320/mangledbuttonsduringtra.png they're fine once the animation is done, and any subsequent times.. if i specify cache:NO in the setAnimationTransition it helps, but there still seems to be some sort of progressive reveal for the text in the segmented controls; they still don't seem to be pre-rendered or initialized properly.. • Why is this XMLHttpRequest sample from Mozilla is not working in Firefox 3?

  I'm trying to get the sample code from Mozilla that consumes a REST web service to work under Firefox 3.0.10. The following code does NOT work in Firefox but does in IE 8! Why is this not working? Does IE 8 have support for XMLHttpRequest? Most examples I've seen use the ActiveX allocation. What should I be doing? XMLHttpRequest seems more standardized. My problem was indeed cross-domain. I was viewing my site unpublished (just on the file system) which was hitting a published service. When I published my site under the same domain it worked. Which also brings up an important distinction between IE and Firefox. When IE experiences this scenario, it prompts the user whether or not they accept the cross-domain call. Firefox throws an exception. While I'm fine with an exception, a more descriptive one would have been helpful. Thanks for all those who helped me.

• [BEGINNER] Javascript Pop Ups

  Hey All, My boss has asked for a page that will not change to have two timed pop ups load. I have found code and edited it to what I had thought it should do, but it is only loading the last onLoad event. I am a designer and I have helped with making webpages, but Javascript is so far outside of what I can understand. I have already learned how to use the single pop up and spent a whiiile learning the timeouts, but I cannot seem to get it to work with multiple popup functions.   HI guys, im using zend_amf and flex. Boom! Works. Despite documentation stating the files are created automatically and what I have seen before... dunno why but that did the trick. Also re-checked perms on the dir the files live in. As certain as I was, they were correct with named having rw. CentOS 6 (final) dhcpd 4.1.1-P1 named BIND 9.8.2rc1-RedHat-9.8.2-0.10.rc1.el6 Basic DHCP and DNS functionality are in place on 192.168.111.2. Clients are assigned addresses as intended and can resolve local DNS names as well as Internet names. My problem is that named's zone journal files are not created. chroot: /var/named/chroot I tried placing the zone files in various directories (/var/named/data, /var/named, /var/named/dynamic - no matter which dir with named owning and wide open perms I now get nowhere). Along the way I, at one point, got a permission denied when named tried to create the journal. Resolved the issue by: chown --recursive named:named /var/named chmod --recursive 777 /var/named The journal was then created and here's where things fell apart. I attempted to tame permissions to something more sane and broke it. Once changed and having restarted named it threw an error indicating the journal was out of sync (or something to that affect)... didn't matter since this is a new setup so I deleted it and now it is not recreated. Now though I see no errors in /var/log/messages, my chrooted /var/log/named.log, or chrooted /var/log/named.debug. I increased the debug level with 'rndc trace' - no love. Increased trace to 10, still nothing. SELinux is disabled... • How to convert an ORM to its subclass using Hibernate ?

  Hi everybody, For example, I have two classes : Person and Employee (Employee is a subclass of Person). Person : has a lastname and a firstname. Employee : has also a salary. On the client-side, I have a single HTML form where i can fill the person informations (like lastname and firstname). I also have a "switch" between "Person" and "Employee", and if the switch is on Employee I can fill the salary field. On the server-side, Servlets receive informations from the client and use the Hibernate framework to create/update data to/from the database. The mapping i'm using is a single table for persons and employee, with a discriminator. I don't know how to convert a Person in an Employee. I firstly tried to : load the Person p from the database create an empty Employee e object copy values from p into e set the salary value save e into the database But i couldn't, as I also copy the ID, and so Hibernate told me they where two instanciated ORM with the same id. And I can't cast a Person into an Employee directly, as Person is Employee's superclass. There seems to be a dirty way : delete the person, and create an employee with the same informations, but I don't really like it.. • using ajax to post comments in cakephp results in 404 error, but no errors locally?

  Using an ajax helper created for use with Jquery I've created a form that posts comments to "/comments/add", and this works as expected on my local wamp server but not on my production server. On my production server I get a '404 error, cannot find /comments/add'. I've spent quite a bit of time searching for a resolution with no luck so far. I've focused on trying to identify a gap but nothing jumps out at me. • Getting segmentation fault after destructor

  I'm making a small file reading and data validation program as part of my TAFE (a tertiary college) course, This includes checking and validating dates. I decided that it would be best done with a seperate class, rather than integrating it into my main driver class. The problem is that I'm getting a segmentation fault(core dumped) after my test program runs. Near as I can tell, the error occurs when the program terminates, popping up after the destructor is called. • Jaxb unmarshalls fixml object but all fields are null

  I have a small XML document in the FIXML format. I'm unmarshalling them using jaxb. The problem The process complete without errors but the objects which are created are completely null. Every field is empty. The fields which are lists (like the Qty) have the right number of object in them. But the fields of those objects are also null. Setup I've downloaded the FIXML schema from here and I've created the classes with xjc and the maven plugin. They are all in the package org.fixprotocol.fixml_5_0_sp2. In the above sample the Amt array will have five element which matches the number of amts in the file. But all the fields like ccy are null. I've put breakpoints in the classes created by xjc and none of the setters are ever called. So it appears that jaxb is unmarshalling and creating all the correct objects, but it's never calling the setters?? I'm completely stumped on this. I've seen a few posts that suggrest making sure the package.info file that was generated by xjc is in the packags and I've made sure that it's there. There are no working in the IDE about the generated code. Any help much appreciated.

• onCommand on button not firing inside gridView??

  This is really driving me crazy. I've got a button inside a gridview to remove that item from the gridview (its datasource is a list). I've got the list being saved to session anytime a change is being made to it, and on page_load check if that session variable is empty, if not, then set that list to bind to the gridview. If I keep it commented out...it fires no problem, but then of course my list can never have more than one item since I am not loading the saved list from session into the gridview but just a fresh one. But the button click is being registered, because page_load is being stepped through again when I am viewing in debug mode, just deleteUser never fires. Why is this happening?? And how can I fix it??

  I'm working on a texture management and animation solution for a small side project of mine. Although the project uses Allegro for rendering and input, my question mostly revolves around C and memory management. I wanted to post it here to get thoughts and insight into the approach, as I'm terrible when it comes to pointers. Essentially what I'm trying to do is load all of my texture resources into a central manager (textureManager) - which is essentially an array of structs containing ALLEGRO_BITMAP objects. The textures stored within the textureManager are mostly full sprite sheets. From there, I have an anim(ation) struct, which contains animation-specific information (along with a pointer to the corresponding texture within the textureManager). To give you an idea, here's how I setup and play the players 'walk' animation: createAnimation(&player.animations[0], "media/characters/player/walk.png", player.w, player.h); playAnimation(&player.animations[0], 10); Rendering the animations current frame is just a case of blitting a specific region of the sprite sheet stored in textureManager. For reference, here's the code for anim.h and anim.c. I'm sure what I'm doing here is probably a terrible approach for a number of reasons. I'd like to hear about them! • What does a WinForm application need to be designed for usability, and be robust, clean, and profess

  One of the principal problems impeding productivity in software implementation is the classic conundrum of “reinventing the wheel”. Of late I am a .NET developer and even the wonderful wizardry of .NET and Visual Studio covers only a portion of this challenging issue. Below I present my initial thoughts both on what is available and what should be available from .NET on a WinForm, focusing on good usability. That is, aspects of an application exposed to the user and making the user experience easier and/or better. (I do include a couple items not visible to the user because I feel strongly about them, such as diagnostics.) I invite you to contribute to these lists. LIST A: Components provided by .NET These are substantially complete components provided by .NET, i.e. those requiring at most trivial coding to use. “About” dialog -- add it with a couple clicks then customize. Persist settings across invocations -- .NET has the support; just use a few lines of code to glue them together. Migrate settings with a new version -- a powerful one, available with one line of code. Tooltips (and infotips) -- .NET includes just plain text tooltips; third-party libraries provide richer ones. Diagnostic support -- TraceSources, TraceListeners, and more are built-in. Internationalization -- support for tailoring your app to languages other than your own. LIST B: Components not provided by .NET These are not supplied at all by .NET or supplied only as rudimentary elements requiring substantial work to be realized. Splash screen -- a small window present during program startup with your logo, loading messages, etc. Tip of the day -- a mini-tutorial presented one bit at a time each time the user starts your app. Check for available updates -- facility to query a server to see if the user is running the latest version of your app, then provide a simple way to upgrade if a new version is found. Maximize to multiple monitors -- the canonical window allows you to maximize to a single monitor only; in my apps I allow maximizing across multiple monitors with a click. Taskbar notifier -- flash the taskbar when your backgrounded app has new info for the user. Options dialogs -- multi-page dialogs letting the user customize the app settings to his/her own preferences. Progress indicator -- for long running operations give the user feedback on how far there is left to go. Memory gauge -- an indicator (either absolute or percentage) of how much memory is used by your app. LIST C: Stylistic and/or tiny bits of functionality This list includes bits of functionality that are too tiny to merit being called a component, along with stylistic concerns (that admittedly do overlap with the Windows User Experience Interaction Guidelines). Design a form for resizing -- unless you are restricting your form to be a fixed size, use anchors and docking so that it does what is reasonable when enlarged or shrunk by the user. Set tab order on a form -- repeated tab presses by the user should advance from field to field in a logical order rather than the default order in which you added fields. Adjust controls to be aware of operating modes -- When starting a background operation with, for example, a “Go” button, disable that “Go” button until the operation completes. Provide access keys for all menu items (per UXGuide). Provide shortcut keys for commonly used menu items (per UXGuide). Set up some (global or important or common) shortcut keys without associating to menu items. Allow some menu items to be invoked with or without modifier keys (shift, control, alt) where the modifier key is useful to vary the operation slightly. Hook up Escape and Enter on child forms to do what is reasonable. • Android: Showing photos runs out of memory

  I'm using a dialog box to display images in my android project. The first one opens fine, but when I close it and do the process again to show a different one the app falls over with a memory error (it's running on a samsung galaxy s3 - so shouldnt be an issue). • Connecting via ShrewSoft VPN client means no LAN internet access (Windows 7 64 bit) - any advice please?

  I have a Windows 7 64 bit desktop machine which is connected to a LAN. I recently installed ShrewSoft VPN client v 2.1.7 on my machine so that I can connect to a license server hosted by my customer. They are running a Cisco VPN server and I originally tried (unsuccessfully!) to use the Cisco VPN client for Windows 64 bit but the default gateway wasn't being configured correctly after loading in my pcf file. Using ShrewSoft I am able to import the same pcf file, and successfully connect to the machine I need to using the VPN client software. The client machine I need to connect to has IP address 1.52.90.33. The problem is that when I am connected to the customer network using the VPN client application (and after a few minutes) I lose my LAN internet connection. I can only presume that this is because, by default the ShrewSoft VPN client application automatically tunnels all traffic through the VPN connection. I know there is an option to switch off the "Tunnel All" option on the Policy tab of the application and enter a Remote Network Resource (to "Include" or "Exclude") as "Address" and "Netmask" IP addresses however I am not sure what I need to enter here. • What's a clean way to have the server return a JavaScript function which would then be invoked?

  My application is architected as a host of plug-ins that have not yet been written. There's a long reason for this, but with each new year, the business logic will be different and we don't know what it will be like (Think of TurboTax if that helps). The plug-ins consist of both server and client components. The server components deals with business logic and persisting the data into database tables which will be created at a later time as well. The JavaScript manipulates the DOM for the browsers to render afterward. Each plugin lives in a separate assembly, so that they won't disturb the main application, i.e., we don't want to recompile the main application. Long story short, I am looking for a way to return JavaScript functions to the client from an Ajax get request, and execute these JavaScript functions (which are just returned). Invoking a function in Javascript is easy. The hard part is how to organize or structure so that I won't have to deal with maintenance problem. So concat using StringBuilder to end up with JavaScript code as a result of calling toString() from the string builder object is out of the question. I want to have no difference between writing JavaScript codes normally and writing Javascript codes for this dynamic purpose. An alternative is to manipulate the DOM on the server side, but I doubt that it would be as elegantly as using jQuery on the client side. I am open for a C# library that supports chainable calls like jQuery that also manipulates the DOM too. Do you have any idea or is it too much to ask or are you too confused?
