• StreamWriter stops writing when file is opened from web link

  Following on from my previous question... • Java output file doesnt recognise \n as linebreak

  for a Java project for a University Class I have a method that saves ASCII images as a uniline string and another method called toString rebuilds this ASCII image and returns as a string. When I run my program on the Eclipse my output looks on console alright and multiline, and there are line breaks where they should be. • Problem while configuring the file Delimeter("\t") in app.config(C#3.0)

  In my app.config file I made the setting like the following <add key = "Delimeter" value ="\t"/> Now while accessing the above from the program by using the below code string delimeter = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["FileDelimeter"].ToString(); StreamWriter streamWriter = null; streamWriter = new StreamWriter(fs); streamWriter.BaseStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.End); Enumerable .Range(0, outData.Length) .ToList().ForEach(i => streamWriter.Write(outData[i].ToString() + delimiter)); streamWriter.WriteLine(); streamWriter.Flush(); I am getting the output as 18804\t20100326\t5.59975381254617\t 18804\t20100326\t1.82599797249479\t But if I directly use "\t" in the delimeter variable I am getting the correct output 18804 20100326 5.59975381254617 18804 20100326 1.82599797249479 I found that while I am specifying the "\t" in the config file, and while reading it into the delimeter variable, it is becoming "\\t" which is the problem. I even tried with but with no luck. I am using C#3.0. Need help

• How can I ignore an http request without clearing the browser?

  To prevent duplicate requests (i.e. pressing F5 right after clicking a command button), I've setup my page base class to ignore the request if it's detected as a duplicate. When I say 'ignore' I mean Response.End() Now I thought I've seen this work before, where there's an issue, I just Response.End() and the users page just does nothing. I don't know the exact circumstance in which this worked, but I'm unable to repeat it now. Now when I call Response.End(), I just get an empty browser. Which leaves the user with an empty browser. Is there anyway to leave the user with the page as it was, so they can just click a button? Also; please note that this code is the simplest code I could come up with to demonstrate my problem. It's not meant to demonstrate how to check for dup requests.

• C2360 compiler error on TFS build, but not on desktop

  A c++ code snippet similar to the code below caused our TFS build to fail with a C2360 compiler error. switch (i) { case 0 : for each (int n in a) System::Console::WriteLine(n.ToString()); break; case 1 : System::Console::WriteLine("n is not in scope here"); break; } This is fixed by using {} brackets within the body of case 0, as below: switch (i) { case 0 : { for each (int n in a) System::Console::WriteLine(n.ToString()); } break; case 1 : System::Console::WriteLine("n is not in scope here"); break; } The developer had successfully compiled the code on their desktop before committing the changes. A cursory look at versions of things like compilers, Visual Studio etc on the server and desktop suggest they are the same. The source code is the same, obviously. What is the difference between a desktop build and TFS build that would smother a compiler error like this?

  I have a gridview with edit option at the start of the row. Also I maintain a seperate table called Permission where I maintain user permissions. I have three different types of permissions like Admin, Leads, Programmers. These all three will have access to the gridview. Except admin if anyone tries to edit the gridview on clicking the edit option, I need to give an alert like This row has important validation and make sure you make proper changes. When I edit, the action with happen on table called Application. The table has a column called Comments. Also the alert should happen only when they try to edit rows where the Comments column have these values in them.   I'm getting started with Lucene.Net (stuck on version 2.3.1). • Gotchas INSERTing into SQLite on Android?

  Hi friends, I'm trying to set up a simple SQLite database in Android, handling the schema via a subclass of SQLiteOpenHelper. However, when I query my tables, the columns I think I've inserted are never present. Namely, in SQLiteOpenHelper's onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) method, I use db.execSQL() to run CREATE TABLE commands, then have tried both db.execSQL and db.insert() to run INSERT commands on the tables I've just created. This appears to run fine, but when I try to query them I always get 0 rows returned (for debugging, the queries I'm running are simple SELECT * FROM table and checking the Cursor's getCount()). Anybody run into anything like this before? These commands seem to run on command-line sqlite3. Are they're gotchas that I'm missing (e.g. INSERTS must/must not be semicolon terminated, or some issue involving multiple tables)? I've attached some of the code below.
