    As per the question title, How could I take a hex code and convert it to a .Net Color object, and do it the other way? I googled and keep getting the same way which doesn't work. ColorTranslator.ToHtml(renderedChart.ForeColor) Which returns the name of the color as in 'White' instead of '#ffffff'! Doing it the other way seems to have odd results, only working some of the time...

    I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

    Similar to Ubiquitous way to get the root directory an application is running in via C#, but that question seems to be related to Win Forms. How would the same be done for Web Forms? I was using... HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~") This works great for handling HTTP requests but seems not to work if a scheduler like Quartz.NET invokes a job (the problem I am having). The HttpContext.Current is null in that scenario since an actual HTTP request is not made.

    First post here. I have a asp/vb6 web app that logs in a user I want to encrypt the users identity field and pass(querystring) it to a asp.net app and then decrypt it to do a db lookup. I've google'd it of course and found rot13, not secure enough. I've also found some hits on MD5 / RC4 but did not find any good examples of encrypt / decrypt. Thanks, Michael

    I am using VS 2010 Express.This error appear "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM compenent" When i try to Add ADO.NET Entity Data Model. VS 2008 PRO is installed on my pc too but i don't think that it is caused by VS 2008 .I tried to reinstall VS 2010 Express but still same. How can i fix it ?

    Can I write code against .Net 4 and its libraries using VS2008? If so how should I configure it? I realise that VS2008 will probably struggle with language changes such as the dynamic keyword but can I install the version 4 and target it anyway?     Say I have this url: http://site.example/dir/ In this folder I have these files: test.ascx.cs and test.ascx Just to be clear, I am not a .NET developer. From a security point of view - why can't I access http://site.example/dir/test.ascx.cs and how secure is it to keep those files there? I assume IIS filters out request that query these kind of files, but can someone explain me this? Thank you.
