• how to make javascript rearrangeable windows?

  hi guys, I want to make a web page with several type of forms,each one on a different area that allows those areas to be rearranged and user will be able to change their position according to their preference.(X form to the left top, Y form to the right bottom etc.) i don't know what that type of windows are called, but think you can get a idea what I'm mentioning here.only thing i know is it can be achieved with javascript, i searched for it but i can't find the relevant tutorial or guide to self study. some one please tell me what they are, and how to make them and include in my web page? is there any thing that ease of making those thing except javascript?please provide me a source of studying and i really appreciate the instructions of the knowledged people.thanks in advance! regards, rangana.

• Trigger Backgroundworker Completed event.

  Hello, I am trying to display the progress bar(marque) in a separate form (progressForm) while i do some calculation in background. I know the typical way of doing it is to include the calculation in background worker and show progressForm in main thread. This approach how ever will lead to lot of synch issues in my application hence I am showing the progressForm using progressForm.ShowDialog() inside the background worker process. But I need to trigger the Completed event with in the application to close the form. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

  I'm currently making a console application in C# (will be going to a Windows Form application in the future. Sooner if needed). My current objective is to have a matrix (current size 52x42) be exported as an image (bitmap, jpeg, png, I'm flexible) where each value in the matrix (0, 1, 2, 3) is portrayed as a white, black, blue, or red square of size 20px x 20px with a grid 1px wide seperating each 'cell'. Can this even be done in a console application, and if so how? If not, what would I need to get it working in a Windows Form application?

• Creating WebService test harness

  Hello, I am trying to create a test harness for our QA staff to test our internal web services. I would like to create a web app that will allow them to enter a uri then submit. The web app will then interrogate the uri to get the appropriate parameters expected and returns with a generated input form. I know, this would be similar to SOAPUI and others. However, I feel it would be earier for them to be able to just use a form with entry fields and click a button to invoke the service and get the results back for display in the web app. In addition, I could create some custom logic that allows them to generate specific behavior they need. Has anybody done anything like this? I have searched and have found similar functionality but nothing close enough to help me. If you need more details please let me know. • On saving a new record an associated id changes to 9 figure number

  Hi, I have a table of venues, with each venue belonging to an area and a type. I recently dropped the table and added to it some addressline fields. I have re-migrated it but now the area_id field saves as a random? 9 figure number. Both the area_id and venuetype_id integers are created in the same way from the create new form and the venuetype_id saves as normal but not the area_id. • Problems with starting windows service on windows xp SP3

  I'm currently facing a problem which I can not resolve and I really don't know what to do anymore. When I'm trying to start the service I receive the message: "The service is started but again also stopped, this because that some of the services will stop if they have nothing to do, for example the performance logs and the alerts service". I've looked into the Windows Logs but nothing is written there which could describe why my service is all the time stopping. I've also tried to fire the windows service via the command prompt which gives me the message: "The service is not started, but the service didn't return any faults.". I've tried to remove all keys which references to my service, which didn't resolve the issue. I've searched on google (maybe not good enough) to find an answer but I didn't found any. I did found some websites which describes what I could do, but all of these suggestions didn't work. This is kinda ** because I do not know where to look. I do not have any error message, i do not have any id which i can use to search on. I really don't know where to start and I hope you guys can help me on this one. Detailed explanation about the windows service OS: Windows XP SP3 .Net Framework: .Net 4.0 Client Profile Language: C# Development environment: Visual Studio 2010 Professional (but Visual Studio 2012 RC is installed) Communications: WCF (Named Pipes), WCF (BasicHTTPBinding) Named Pipes: I have chosen for this solution because I wanted to communicate from a windows service to a windows form application. It worked now for quite some time but suddenly my windows service shuts it self down and I couldn't restart it anymore. There are two named pipes services implemented: An event service which will send any notification to the windows form application and an management service which gives my windows form application the possibility to maintain my windows service. BasicHTTPBinding: The basic http binding makes the connection to a central server. This connection is then used for streaming information from the client to the server. Let's say there is only one car object and I "delete" it in my form, if I do garage_object.update_attributes(params[:garage]), it will delete the car model and make the garage object invalid. Is there to a way to make it not update the attributes if it will make the model invalid?

  I have a paged ASP.NET ListView. The data shown is filtered, which can be controlled by a form. When the filter form changes, I create a new query, and perform a DataBind. The problem however, when I go to the next page, and set a filter, the ListView shows "No data was returned". That is not weird, because after the filter is applied, there is only one page of data. So what I want to do is reset the pager. Is that a correct solution to the problem? And how do I do that?

  After using Zend_GData to retrieve a document list feed, I can use the content URLs in the form: http://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=<docid>&hl=en but the source URLs in the form http://docs.google.com/feeds/download/documents/Export?docId=<docid>&exportFormat=html are returning 404 errors. That URL should return the content of the document in the requested format but it is returning 404. This problem is mentioned without resolution on a Google API forum. As indicated in that forum post, this problem only seems to affect new documents. My code works perfectly retrieving old documents, but new ones are 404. Has something changed in the way Google references new documents or in the way permissions are assigned? The code I'm using is essentially the same as the code on this page but this does not seem to be an issue specific to PHP/Zend_Gdata.

  hello I want to execute a .exe file on my Apache server using a php script. the procedure is as follow: 1- user comes, fills a html form 2- it goses to a php script 3- php script executes the name.exe file 4- php prints the output of the name.exe file on the page. I execute the name.exe normally from windows like this: run--> cmd--> D:\name [command] the name.exe needs to communicate with other files like libraries in the same directory. the complete comand in cmd at windows is like this: D:\name library.dll [input from user] then program executes and prints some results in cmd window. I actually want to run this program on my server form my clients. I dont know how, but I now there is a way to do this. another related questoin is that, is there any shell that i can install on Linux server and execute name.exe in it? thanks in advanced, John.

Is this necessary? Do the Request cookies copy to the Response automatically? I'm setting no properties on the cookies and create them this way: Response.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"] = someGuid.ToString(); The intention is that these are temporary header cookies, not persisted on the client any longer than the browser session. I ask this since I don't often write websites.

We are going to have people come from a particular site during a acquisition campaign and was wondering how I could conditionalize a certain section of my site to display a thank you message instead of the sign up form as they would have had the opportunity to fill this out before coming to my landing page. I have seen solutions like: $referal = mysql_real_escape_string($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']); I would like to know if this is the best way to get this to work??? - okay this is what i think might work. The third party website that is referring people to our landing page once the form on that site has been filled out can push into the record a hidden input value of "www.sample.com" or whatever... then I can have something check the for that particular value and fire off the conidtional. Does that even sound right?

  I have a "description textarea" inside a form where user may enter a description for an item. This is validated with javascript before the form beeing submitted. One of the validation-steps is this: else if (!fld.value.match(desExp)){ And desExp: var desExp = /^\s*(\w[^\w]*){3}.*$/gm; Now my problem, this works fine on all cases except for descriptions where the description BEGINS with a special character of the swedish language (å, ä, ö).   I'd like to have a submit button that submits a different value than is displayed on the button. With <input type="submit"> you can't seem to do this. With <button type="submit"> however, these can be two different values. The question is, will it work in all browsers? Trying this test code here: <form method="get" action=""> <input type="text" name="txt"/> <button type="submit" name="btn" value="val">text</button> </form> In FF 3.6 it updates my address bar with both values appropriately (and responds to me pressing enter in the text box). In IE 8, it also accepts pressing enter, displays the text value in the address bar, but it show the button's value as a GET param at all... does that mean it's not submitting it?

• Storing PDFs in MS Access Database using Forms

  I need to store PDF files in an Access database on a shared drive using a form. I figured out how to do this in tables (using the OLE Object field, then just drag-and-drop) but I would like to do this on a Form that has a Save button. Clicking the save button would store the file (not just a link) in the database. Any ideas on how to do this? EDIT: I am using Access 2003, and the DB will be stored on a share drive, so I'm not sure linking to the files will solve the problem.

  I've noticed that when using $.post() in jquery that the default contentType is application/x-www-form-urlencoded - when my asp.net mvc code needs to have contentType=application/json (See this question for why I must use application/json: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2792603/aspnet-mvc-why-is-modelstate-isvalid-false-the-x-field-is-required-when-that) How can I make $.post() send contentType=application/json? I already have a large number of $.post() functions, so I don't want to change to $.ajax() because it would take too much time If I try $.post(url, data, function(), "json") It still has contentType=application/x-www-form-urlencoded. So what exactly does the "json" param do if it does not change the contenttype to json? If I try $.ajaxSetup({ contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8" }); That works but affects every single $.get and $.post that I have and causes some to break. So is there some way that I can change the behavior of $.post() to send contentType=application/json?

  I have an MVC3 application in Visual Studio 2010. I have a view with several dropdowns that do javascript calls to populate dropdowns based on the selected value, some of which are disabled initially. That all works great with the initial state of nothing. If I however pass routevalues to the dropdowns from a redirect to this action, I do get the value set correctly but it's not enabled like it should be on the dropdown for example and when I post the form, the ones that are greyed out are not passed back on the form. How can I correct this?

  We want to have a form which contains lots of fields one over another. All of them are passed as parameters to the form. There are many condition formulas which determine whether one element is shown or not. Depending on how many fields are shown the result will get a different number of pages. The problem is, that the designer will only allow us to design on on single page with a fixed height. But we need more space to place fields there, because they are too many of them. Is there a way to enlarge the designer working area? Sure, a possible workaround is to choose a large paper format when in dessiger which will enlarge the working area and then reset it to A4 (Standard paper format), but even this will not be enough for us in some cases. Does nobody know an answer?
