• Why in the hell is this happening?

  I just can't understand why is my database (mysql) behaving like this! My console shows that the record is created properly (please, notice the "remote_id" value): Tweet Create (0.3ms) INSERT INTO `tweets` (`remote_id`, `text`, `user_id`, `twitter_account_id`) VALUES (12325438258, 'jamaica', 1, 1) But when I check the record, it shows that the remote_id is 2147483647 intead of the provided value (12325438258 in the example above)... This table has many entries, but this field is always written with 2147483647... It was supposed to fill this space with an unique id (which I guarantee you is being generated properly).

  I have a requirement to display the below in a csv file which is generated using UTL_FILE package of PL/SQL. Heading1 Heading2 Heading3 ABCDE 123 987641213 xxx street yyyy For each value in 'Heading1', I get 3 rows for address from a particular table. In the output csv file, I need to display the address in a single cell with data separated by a new line. I tried using a cursor and appending data using chr(10), chr(12), chr(15) but in vain. Kindly help me in getting the output.

  Hello, I have a problem when upgrading a django and mysql app with south. I've tried to make a sql-based upgrade with the code generated by the django sqlall command and I have a similar problem. Here is the sql code: CREATE TABLE `programmations_basissupport` ( `id` integer AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, `value` numeric(6, 0) NOT NULL ) ALTER TABLE `programmations_concert` ADD `basis_support_id` integer AFTER program_status_id; ALTER TABLE `programmations_concert` ADD CONSTRAINT `basis_support_id_refs_id_1e4ed8d7` FOREIGN KEY (`basis_support_id`) REFERENCES `programmations_basissupport` (`id`); An error is raised when adding the FK constraint: ERROR 1005 (HY000): Can't create table 'apidev_mnl.#sql-106e_632b00a' (errno: 150) Does anybody have an idea? Update: DEFAULT values where missing but even if I add the default='' in the django model, the creation of foreign keys fails. Thanks for your help

  Are variadic constructors supposed to hide the implicitly generated ones, i.e. the default constructor and the copy constructor? struct Foo { template<typename...   Within an Access 2007 application, I'm creating a static report in .pdf format. I want to create it, then export the static report (not the data itself) to a Sharepoint Document Library. The intent is for it to be a public repository, no versioning. Each report will carry a unique name. I'm a seasoned vba programmer, but using Sharepoint services is new to me. How do I go about doing this? Assume I can identify the file name and location after I've generated it, and I know the Sharepoint library URL, and have permissions. Where do I go from there?

  RFC1123 defines a number of things, among them, the format of Dates to be used in internet protocols. HTTP (RFC2616) specifies that date formats must be generated in conformance with RFC1123. It looks like this: Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2010 02:31:05 GMT How can I generate an RFC1123 time string from C code, running on Windows? I don't have the use of C# and DateTime.ToString(). I know I could write the code myself, to emit timezones and day abbreviations, but I'm hoping this already exists in the Windows API. Thanks.

• error when trying to import ps file by grImport in R

  I need to create a pdf file with several chart created by ggplot2 arranged in a A4 paper, and repeat it 20-30 times. I export the ggplot2 chart into ps file, and try to PostScriptTrace it as instructed in grImport, but it just keep giving me error of "Unrecoverable error, exit code 1". • Problem with displaying my Image..

  Here is my full problem so if anyone has any ideas or can offer some help, please let me know. I have a Website that will generate a Report and this Report takes some time to create. There is a MyReport.ASPX file that has a form1, Image1, and a ReportViewer control. There is also a MyReport.cs file that has C# code to generated a HTMLText string that the ReportViewer control will display. When I pull the Website up in the browser, the MyReport.cs file creates the Report before MyReport.ASPX ever gets called so my Image1 (which I need to display while the Report is being created) never gets displayed until AFTER the Report is created and displayed. What do you suggest I do here? If I did not supply enough information, please let me know what else you need to know and I will gladly post it. Thanks,

  We are using hibernate, postgres 8.3x Our entities are many to one mapped with eager fetching. We have multiple associations with Many to one mapping. As we added new columns to any other existing entities, We are getting below error: target lists can have at most 1664 entries I searched internet and they say this is due to More number of select statements in sql query (generated by hibernate) Can you any body please let us know if there is any configuration (in postgres) to update max number columns in configuration or any other solution to solve this issue. • How to temporarily change all default user settings without destroying the original?

  My app is based strongly on a lot of NSUserDefault keys and values. I want to implement a temporary defaults profile which the user can activate to get a special task done easily. For this, some of the user defaults must be changed temporarily so the app adjusts it's interface appropriately. I started to just manually change those NSUserDefaults settings, but this also destroys the user's original settings. Is it possible to keep a backup of the user's NSUserDefault settings and restore them after the user quits the temporary mode or the app? Like I see it, NSUserDefaults actually is just an NSMutableDictionary which is generated out of a plist file. So I would just make a deep copy of that and later assign that copy somehow back to NSUserDefaults?

  If it's important to keep data access 'away' from business and presentation layers, what alternatives or approaches can I take so that my LINQ to SQL entities can stay in the data access layer? So far I seem to be simply duplicating the classes produced by sqlmetal, and passing those object around instead simply to keep the two layers appart. For example, I have a table in my DB called Books. If a user is creating a new book via the UI, the Book class generated by sqlmetal seems like a perfect fit although I'm tightly coupling my design by doing so.

  Hello, I have the following table in the model with a recursive structure (a page can have children pages) class DynamicPage(models.Model): name = models.CharField("Titre",max_length=200) parent = models.ForeignKey('self',null=True,blank=True) I want to create another table with manytomany relation with this one: class UserMessage(models.Model): name = models.CharField("Nom", max_length=100) page = models.ManyToManyField(DynamicPage) The generated SQL creates the following constraint: ALTER TABLE `website_dynamicpage` ADD CONSTRAINT `parent_id_refs_id_29c58e1b` FOREIGN KEY (`parent_id`) REFERENCES `website_dynamicpage` (`id`); I would like to have the ManyToMany with the page itself (the id) and not with the parent field. • use file or class for documenting classes in doxygen?

  Hi all, This surely is a noob question, but I can't find an answer in Doxygen documentation. I'm not sure whether using: @file or @class when documenting my header files. The reason is that if I put file, then all the comments appear in the Files tab only, but not in the Classes tab (per each). For cpp it's ok, I just use file and it's good, but if I use both file and class in the header (file at the beginning and class right before the start of the class declaration) then I get duplicated entries for the class in the generated documentation... What I'm doing wrong? Any suggestions? Ideas? Regards, Alex

  Hello all, I'm writing a program that simulates various random walks (with differing distributions). At each timestep, I need randomly generated, two dimensional step distances and angles from the distribution of the random walk. I'm hoping someone can check my understanding of how to generate these random numbers. As I understand it I can use Inverse Transform Sampling as follows: If f(x) is the pdf of our random walk that has a non-uniform distribution, and y is a random number from a uniform distribution. Then if we let f(x) = y and solve to find x then we have a random number from the non-uniform distribution. Is this a feasible solution?

  Hello, I have a simple query like: from e in endContratoRepository.GetAll() where e.Contrato.idContrato == contrato.idContrato && e.Volume.idVolume == 1 && group e by new { e.dpto.idDepartamento, e.centroCusto.idCentroCusto } into grp select new Entidade { Contagem = grp.Count(), centroCusto = grp.Key.idCentroCusto, dpto = grp.Key.idDepartamento } and the problem: The fields that are in the group by, are duplicated in the generated query. The fields centroCusto and dpto appears twice, so when I try to get the field centroCusto, I get dpto. Anyone know how to solve this? thanks a lot!

• Django m2m adding field in the secondary table

  I have a model in wich i'm using m2m Django ORM feature, in order to create an aditional table to hold my 'classrom members'. My problem is: the membership to a classroom must be accepted by the invited one, so i need a boolean field :1=accepted, 0=refused/unseen yet.   Hi I'm trying to understand how to best implement a polymorphic one-to-many in hibernate. Eg: @MappedSuperclass public class BaseEntity { Integer id; // etc... } @Entity public class Author extends BaseEntity {} @Entity public class Post extends BaseEntity {} @Entity public class Comment extends BaseEntity {} And now, I'd like to also persist audit information, with the following class: @Entity public class AuditEvent { @ManyToOne // ? BaseEntity entity; } What is the appropriate mapping for auditEvent.entity? Also, how will Hibernate actually persist this? Would a series of join tables be generated (AuditEvent_Author , AuditEvent_Post, AuditEvent_Comment), or is there a better way? Note, I'd rather not have my other entity classes expose the other side of the join (eg., List<AuditEvent> events on BaseEntity) - but if that's the cleanest way to implement, then it will suffice.

  Is it possible to write a linq-to-sql statement that will return two different COUNTs that have been put into a single dataset using UNION ALL? I know this is syntactically wrong but here's what I'm trying to do: (from t1 in TableOne select t1).Count().Union( (from t2 in TableTwo select t2).Count() ) Here's the sql I would like would like to have generated: select count(*) from TableOne union all select count(*) from TableTwo I realize that Count() returns an int and does not have a Union method on it and therein lies my question. Can Linq-to-Sql be written that will achieve what I'm after?

• Rails botches the SQL on a complex save

  Hi, I am doing something seemingly pretty easy, but Rails is messing up the SQL. I could just execute my own SQL, but the framework should be able to handle this. Here is the save I am trying to perform: w = WhipSenVote.find(:first, :conditions => ["whip_bill_id = ? AND whip_sen_id = ?", bill_id, k]) w.votes_no = w.votes_no - 1 w.save My generated SQL looks like this: SELECT * FROM "whip_sen_votes" WHERE (whip_bill_id = E'1' AND whip_sen_id = 7) LIMIT 1 And then: UPDATE "whip_sen_votes" SET "votes_yes" = 14, "updated_at" = '2009-11-13 19:55:54.807000' WHERE "id" = 15 The first select statement is correct, but as you can see, the Update SQL statement is pretty wrong, though the votes_yes value is correct. Any ideas? Thanks!

• How to add an existing file to a project in VS2008 Add-in?

  I'm trying to create an add-in for VS2008 to automate the unit tests. The test classes are located in a different project of the same solution. After the test class file is generated, I want to add it to that project automatically and make it active document. I could easily locate the test project, and I also found that testProject.DTE.ItemOperations.AddExistingItem(fileName) can be used to add an existing item to a project. However, this call always adds the item to the current project, instead of the testProject. I'm sure there must be an easy way to do it, but I couldn't figure it out. Your help is much appreciated.

• pre tag is being formatted strangely in page

  I am outputting some code in one of my pages, using a <pre> tag. The code is being output correctly, but for some strange reason, the first line of the code is indented (i.e. shifted to the right, by quite a large amount). I am not applying any style to that element, and I checked in FF Firebug and no styling is being applied, so I have no idea why the first line is shifted by so much to the right - any ideas? the code that generates the tag looks like this: <pre> <?php echo $script_code; ?> </pre> The generated code looks like this: <iframe src="http://www.example.com"> </iframe> Any ideas what may be going wrong?

• Using a custom URL parameter in Wordpress (with permalinks)?

  Hello - Is there a way to perhaps edit .htaccess to add a custom URL parameter to Wordpress, so that the parameter is not stripped out by permalinks? I have a Wordpress site with a page that queries a separate (non-Wordpress) database. I passed the URL parameter "pubID" to display individual books and it is working OK. Example: http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/?pubID=63 But the individual books are not showing up properly in Google - maybe because they all have the same auto-generated "canonical" URL meta tab - one with the "pubID" parameter stripped out.   I'm developing silverlight app with WCF Ria service. I'm using MS SQL database and Entity Framework as ORM framework (Database first method). Model with domain service are in separate project - App1.Data. Silverlight and generated model proxy classes are in App1 project. I want to add property to model entity class EntityClass to get this property on client side. So I did it that way - added this class to project App1.Data: public partial class EntityClass { [DataMember] public List<EntityClass2> PropertyName {get; set;} } After rebuilding EntityClass proxy on client side doesn't have this new property. Where is my mistake?
