• Relationships via Email Rather Than User List

  I'm new at Drupal, so I may have missed a solution despite a lot of research: I want users to be able to invite non-users and other users into a named relationship they've set up (using e.g. the Friendlist or User Relationships module) using only email addresses and not the user list. I believe that invitations from both of those modules are done only after the inviter selects the invitee after selecting the invitee from a list of all users. Frankly, I would be surprised if no email solution exists since a large site's user list would be daunting. Does anyone know if this is possible using Organic Groups? Thanks very much.

I have may application which I can run on Windows Server 2003 and I am curious to know If I could run the same on XP or Vista.   Contrary to this question this is for a dotted name (gw.localnet.au), and it doesn't happen straight away. Only after some period of time (quite a long time, possibly days). In fact this is for my ADSL router and its internal IP address which I have named within the router itself and in my Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller DNS Service. Specifically, localnet.au is a Active-Directory-backed primary domain. In fact, an ipconfig /flushdns may fix the problem, but only after a while (about the time it took me to type in this question :-) ). That doesn't explain the root cause though...

• F# script to application

  I have written two small scripts, First one maintains a dictionary of current stock prices for a set of securities. I am using recursion to listen to a named pipe. Whenever there is something available on the name pipe, it updates the security price and goes right back and start listening to the pipe. The second one periodically reads the stock price of some security from the price cache of the first program and performs come calculation. But I have no idea how to make these two programs communicate. I somehow need to make my second programs start the first program and let it run in the background and get the price whenever it needs it. Can someone point me in the right direction? • How do I get PyLint to find namespace packages?

  I have a virtualenv where I've installed two packages, both using the company.project_name namespace. So the first package is importable from company.project_name.one and the second from company.project_name.two. The challenge is that I can't seem to be able to run PyLint on either one of them. If I issue: $ pylint company.project_name.one I get: ************* Module company.project_name.one F: 1, 0: No module named project_name.one(fatal) I suspect that I'm probably doing something wrong. Is there a proper way to do this? Edit: I should have made it clear that company.project_name and company are namespace packages and not regular packages.

• Fluent NHibernate beginner problem: How to convert single column data to custom class?

  I am very new to Fluent NHibernate and I have a problem that I cant find the answer to. I have a string column in my database table, containing a mathematical expression i.e: "10 + 15 * 5". On my entity I have a property that I call Formula and this returns a class that contains the mathematical "formula" (not as a string). I beleive this post http://intellect.dk/post/Implementing-custom-types-in-nHibernate.aspx explains how to solve it for NHibernate. But I am not sure... How do I get this working with Fluent NHibernate?

• Zend Framework Autoloader question.

  In zend framework I register my namespace like this (in application.php): 'autoloaderNamespaces' => array( 'Cms_' ) And after this - I'd expect that Zend would always check that path in addition to Zend and ZendX paths if unknown class is called. But for some reason this doesn't work with for example view helpers. I still have to register a separate path for my view helpers even though view helper scripts are named according to Zend coding standards and are located in: Cms/View/Helper/ And this is how I register helper path in config file: view' => array( 'charset' => 'UTF-8', 'doctype' => 'XHTML1_TRANSITIONAL', 'helperPath' => array( 'Cms_View_Helper_' => 'Cms/View/Helper' ) ), So - I'm not sure why I have to register "Cms" namespace twice first through 'autoloaderNamespaces' and then through View "helperPath"? Shouldn't Cms namespace include Cms/View/Helper namespace? can someone plz clarify this:)

• Proper way to structure a Sync Framework DAL

  I am creating a WPF app that needs to allow users to work in a temporary disconnected state and I plan to use a Local Database Cache. My question's are about my data access layer. Do you typically create the whole DAL to point at the Cache or both and create a switching mechanism? Is Entity's a good way to go for my DAL against the Cache? I am used to L2S but my understanding is that I can't use that against SQLCE, correct? Thanks! PS: Any good resources out there for using Sync, Linq, and WPF ALL TOGETHER? Tutorials, videos, etc?

  Hi everyone, I have a one-to-many relationship between Part and Params (a "Part" has many "Params). I'm trying to do something naive like this: Part sourcePart = em.find(Part.class, partIdSource); Part destPart = em.find(Part.class, partIdDest); Collection<Param> paramListSource = sourcePart.getParamList(); destPart.setParamList(paramListSource); Basically I want to copy all the parameters from sourcePart to destPart. Hopefully the persistence provider will automatically set the right foreign keys in the Param table/entity. The above code will obviously not work. Is there any easy way of doing this, or do I have to do create a new collection, then add each Param (creating new Param, setting attributes, etc) ?

• Core Data produces Analyzer warnings

  Hi I am doing the final touch ups on an app and I am getting rid of every compiler/analyzer warning. I have a bunch of Class methods that wrap my apps access to Core Data entities. This is "provoking" the analyzer. + (CDProductEntity*) newProductEntity { return (CDProductEntity*)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"CDProductEntity" inManagedObjectContext:[self context]]; } Which results in an Analyzer warning: Object with +0 retain counts returned to caller where a +1 (owning) retain count is expected In the method that calls the above Class Method I have this: CDProductEntity *newEntity = [self newProductEntity]; Which results in an Analyzer warning: Method returns an Objective-C object with a +1 retain count (owning reference) Explicitly releasing or autoreleasing a Core Data entity is usually very very bad, but is that what it is asking me to do here? First it tells me it has a +0 retain count and that is bad, then it tells me it has a +1 which is also bad. What can I do to ensure that I am either dealing with a Analyzer hiccup or that I release correctly? Thanks in advance

• Merging branches in tortoiseHg does not seem to work

  In a project, I have a default branch and another named branch. After a merging both branches and committing it, the graph in TortoiseHg shows that both branches have been merged. However, pushing to a remote repository (which is at the stage before branching, it only has the default branch), I get the message "abort: push creates new remote branches". If I'm not mistaken, I'm left with one branch after merging, so why this error message? Note: the graph still shows that I have 2 heads, is it in anyway related to this?

• Storing and retrieving CGPoints inside NSMutableArray

  I've looked through countless questions on here and elsewhere and cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to store an array of CGPoints as NSValues inside of an NSMutableArray named points like so on the iPhone: NSValue *point = [NSValue valueWithCGPoint:firstTouch]; NSLog(@"NSValue *point = %@", point); [points addObject:point]; NSLOG OUTPUT NSValue *point = NSPoint: {120, 221} Everything is going smooth converting from the CGPoint to NSValue. But when I try to retrieve the point I get nothing. NSValue *getPoint = [points objectAtIndex:0]; CGPoint thePoint = [getPoint CGPointValue]; NSLog(@"Point = %@", NSStringFromCGPoint(thePoint)); NSLOG OUTPUT Point = {0, 0} The points should be the same but I'm getting a null result. For testing purposes this is happening in the touchesBegan method. Does anyone have any idea where I'm going wrong? Thanks in advance.

  In an xpage I would like to be able to decide which custom controls have to be rendered or loaded. I have a custom control named 1, another 2, 3 etc When a scoped variable has the value 1, custom control 1 should be displayed/rendered/loaded. A value of 2 , custom control 2 has to be displayed. etc I came up with following sollution : I calculate if that custom control has to be loaded or not depending on the value of the scoped variable. Since I have 8 of these custom controls on 1 page I was wondering ,since only 1 out of those 8 custom controls have to be rendered ,if there isn't a better way with less code to do the same job. Won't my sollution put a lot of load to my server ?

  Hello, I did not see anything that address my particular code problem. I have a bool function in a class; the bool function is named: bool Triplet::operator ==(const Triplet& operand)const And I am trying to call it in Main but having problems just getting the call right. Apparently if I leave out any thing in the wording it gives an error that I have too few aruguments and if I try to use the entire wording of the function, I get the error that I need a semi-colon, but I already have a semi-colon at the end of the call, so I know that something else is wrong and I simply cannot figure out what is wrong!   I have a hierarchy of Directory elements in a WiX script. I also have a component that creates a virtual directory (using IIS:WebVirtualDir), which points to the root of my Directory hierarchy. How do I change a property (e.g. AnonymousAccess) of a subfolder of the virtual directory, e.g. MyVirtualDir <<< this is the virtual directory root MyVirtualDir\MySubFolder <<< this is the subfolder for which I wish to change a property using WebDirProperties Please note that I do not wish to create a new virtual directory for the subfolder. I only wish to change a few security settings. The current script is too big to post here, but take a look at the WiX tutorial: 5.3 Web Directory. Suppose in that example that there was another Directory element named "MySubFolder" nested within the "InstallDir" element. What would then be the next step in order to set properties for "MySubFolder" without turning it into a virtual directory?

• How to handle null {id} on route?

  What if a user hits my site with http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit rather than http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit/1000 In other words, they do not specify a value for {id}. If they do not, I want to display a nice "Not Found" page, since they did not give an ID. I currentl handle this by accepting a nullable int as the parameter in the Controller Action and it works fine. However, I'm curious if there a more standard MVC framework way of handling this, rather than the code I presently use (see below). Is a smoother way to handle this, or is this pretty mush the right way to do it? • How to display CodeRush menu item in VS ?

  I just installed CodeRush to my VS and when I run VS for the first time after installation it showed me a dialog asking if I'm experienced user. While the dialog was visible I could see that there was new menu item in VS named DevExpress. There was a small check box on that dialog saying something about menu items that I probably should have checked. As I did not the menu items disappeared just after I clicked OK. I cannot make that menu item reappear. Can somebody help me with this ?

• MDX filter members in a sum-function

  I have an SSAS cube containing customers and their purchased memberships (let's say magazines). I want to calculate the retention. I.e. how many customers remain a customer. To do this I specify a set (males, 30yrs, 1 january 2011). I want to see if this set - identified by a customer number - is still present in the following months. I named my set MySet2. What I try to do is: sum(measures.amount, [membership].[name].&[X], MySet2, [date].[date].currentmember) However, the result is incorrect. The number is far to low. I suspect it still tries to account for all the males of 30 years old, but after a year they're not 30 anymore. What am I missing? I looked at scope and filter, but I'm not sure how to apply it.

• Find changed properties of a class

  I am using asp.net 3.5 I have a license class containing 10 properties and not marked as serializable. I have to log property changes to the database. License is an entity class,and it is not in my scope to modify it. So I cannot mark it as serializabel neither i can use IpropertyChanged Interface. Now i cannot store it in viewstate as it is not serializable. I wanted to store it so that i can compare it with new values and see which value has changed. How to proceed with this.
