  • How can I have only two specific keyboard layouts in my system without 'us'?

    I want only two keyboard layouts in my system: us altgr-intl (USA International (AltGr dead keys) ) and gr (Greece), so this is what I've selected in System ? Preferences ? Keyboard ? Layouts. However, every time I begin a new Gnome session (reboot, logout/login), the us keyboard layout is automatically inserted at the top of the list. I created a small script called fixlang that ensures the desirable result: layouts='[us altgr-intl,gr]' # tab between us and altgr key=/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts active_layouts="$(gconftool -g $key)" if [ "$active_layouts" != "$layouts" -o "$1" == -f ] then gconftool -t l --list-type=str -s $key "$layouts" fi which I run on login. However, this is a kludge. How can I ensure that Gnome does not mess with my keyboard layout selection?

    I am trying to download kcachegrind after a reinstallation of my OS. But I keep getting "dependency" failures. I have tried going through the Ubuntu software manager (which worked perfectly before...) and Synaptic. With synaptic, I got specific package failures and when I searched for the packages I got more package dependencies. After the 5th time of this I gave up because there must be something else going on. Please help?

  • Xubuntu 14.04, Power Manager, Screensaver

    When my computer is inactive, I keep getting a black screen and the screen goes into locked mode asking for a password, even though in Power Manager I have "Never" set for actions and monitor and Extended "Lock Screen" is unchecked. I don't see a screensaver, but perhaps that is the issue? Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a bug? Is there a temporary workaround? I did not see this issue in 12.xx, 13.xx.

  • Use android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1 with a light theme

    I have learned that when using android:entries with a ListView, it uses android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1 as the layout for a list item and android.R.id.text1 as the ID of the TextView inside that layout. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Knowing this, I wanted to create my own adapter but use the same layout resources, in order to provide UI consistency with the platform. Thus, I tried the following: mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter( getApplicationContext(), android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, mSites, new String[] { SitesDatabase.KEY_SITE }, new int[] { android.R.id.text1 } ); Unfortunately, because I am using a light theme (I have android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light" in my <application>), the list items appear with white text, making them unreadable. However, when using android:entries to specify a static list of items, the items appear correctly, with black text color. What am I doing wrong? How can I make my dynamic adapter use the standard layout but work with a light theme?

So based on my understanding I've decided to update the layout of onepage checkout in Magento. I've created my own layout and in the config file set that my layout updates the checkout module layout. But the problem is it's actually does not update the base layout, it replaces it self with base layout! Should it be act like this or am I wrong?!

    Hello, I'm working on PowerPoint Add-In and I was faced with trouble I couldn't solve myself. The point is I need to change the slide Layout programmaticaly with C# (the Add-In Express 2009 for Office and .NET is used). If the new layout is a predefined one everything is fine but I need to set a custom layout as a new one (without slide recreating). Unfortunately, I didn't find any information on how to do it, PowerPoint object model reference documentation didn't answer me as well. There is just the ability to create a new slide that uses custom layout. I've done an experiment seria and have ensured that the Slide object stayed being the same while I have been changing layout both predefined and custom ones. I don't want to create a new slide when I need just switch the layout. Is it possible at all? Please help me to find a way of doing it. Thanks in advance.

    I'm having trouble adding a button to a layout that I've created in XML.     Hi, I had created a web part on MOSS 2007 which displays a organizational chart by searching (Full Text) the user profiles. To identify the subordinates of a user, I used to search for users with the particular user in Manager property. The query looked like this: SELECT AccountName, PreferredName, Manager, WorkEmail FROM scope() WHERE ("SCOPE" = 'People') AND Manager = 'domain\parent_user' But, the same query does not run in SharePoint 2010 as Manager crawled property does not exists. So, I created a new crawled property and mapped it to People:Manager(Text) now, the Manager property is always empty. Even a full crawl after clearing the indexes also not helping. Can anyone please help me in getting manager information in Full Text Search? Thanks in advance!

  • On Windows and Windows 7's Task Manager, why Memory is 1118MB Available but only 62MB Free? [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: Windows 7 memory usage What are the "Cached", "Available", and "Free" memory in the following picture (From Windows 7's Task Manager). If it is 1118MB Available, then why isn't it Free (to use)? As I understand it, if a bowl of noodle is available, that doesn't mean it is free... it may still cost $7. But what about in the Task Manager, when it is Available, it is also not Free? Does it cost $2 per MB? What about the "Cached"... What exactly is the Cached Memory? We may put some hard disk data in RAM and so we cache the data in RAM, for faster access (that's the operating system's job). So the Total Physical RAM is 6GB, what is the 1106 Cached? Cached in where? Caching physical RAM in ... some where? It is also strange that the Cached value is sometimes higher and sometimes lower than the Available value. Can somebody who is knowledgeable about this shred some light on these meanings?

  • Access Windows Boot Manager selector when timeout is set to 0?

    I've installed Wubi onto a Windows Vista computer. I've also set the boot timeout to 0: bcdedit /timeout 0 However, now I can't figure out how to get the menu to come up at all! I read on the internets that I had to hold F8 or space when starting up, but they doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a different key or setting I've overlooked? The computer itself is a Dell that's a few months old. The keyboard is USB, but I don't think that's the problem as I can get into the BIOS just fine. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Am I supposed to hold the keys or rapidly tap them (I've tried both)?     I'm developing a project in .NET (using C# to be more specific). Using Visual Studio as an IDE. Using Mercurial for version control. I'll be using some third-party libraries: ThirdParty.Foo.dll ThirdParty.Bar.dll ThirdParty.Baz.dll And some in-house libraries: Company.A Company.B Company.C Company.D (References third party libraries) Company.E (References Company.A) The project itself will have the following components: Project.Core Project.DataModel (references in-house/third-party libraries) Project.GUI (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) Project.PluginOne (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) Project.PluginTwo (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) * can be an arbitrary number of plugins * I'm quite new to Mercurial, so I don't really know the best way to structure my repositories for a project like this, with a lot of interconnected components. The in-house libraries are fairly distinct, so I would say that each one of them should have its own repository. However, some of them use functionality provided by others. How should these dependencies be managed? The project plug-ins should be distinct from eachother, so I'd imagine that each would have its own repository. How should the dependencies on the in-house/third-party libraries and the rest of the project (Project.DataModel and Project.Core) be managed, with regards to the solution layout and the repository layout? So basically, for a project like this, what are the best way of structuring: (a) my visual studio solutions (b) my source control repository/repositories
