  I am trying to make an chat application using python and django.   Depending on where I use my Class, I want to be able to show a different DisplayName. I have the following class: [MetadataType(typeof(PortalMetaData))] [System.Web.Mvc.Bind(Exclude = "PortalId")] public partial class Portal { public Portal() { this.Created = DateTime.Now; } } public class PortalMetaData { [Required(ErrorMessage = "Portal name is required")] [StringLength(50, ErrorMessage = "Portal name must be under 50 characters")] public object PortalName { get; set; } [Required(ErrorMessage = "Description is required")] public object Description { get; set; } } I have a corresponding Table in the database Portal I use the Portal table with a PortalController for the Site Admin to update the records in the Portal Table. I want another user with a different Role (AsstAdmin) to be able to update this table as well. To facilitate that I am thinking of creating a separate partial class that somehow links back to the Portal Model. This would allow me to display limited Fields for update by the AsstAdmin and I can display a different name for the Field as well. How can I accomplish this task? • Update Manager unable to get updates

  In last few days my Ubuntu 11.10 update manager is unable to get new updates. When I checked update log I saw that for couple of updates it says "Network isn't available". For other updates it downloaded logs and and internet connection also works fine. Unable to attached screenshot due to SPAM prevention policy. But for below Release gpgv:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/extras.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_oneiric_Release.gpg it says "Network isn't available" For all other Releases it is downloading fine. • How do I get security updates for restricted/partner packages?

  I want to perform just security updates on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, keeping the rest of the system unchanged. I need to do this from the command line, no the GUI update manager. I have implemented the solution described here, which seems to work great for this purpose. I merely substituted 'precise' for 'lucid' given that I am on 12.04. My question is: by using apt pinning as described in that answer, will I still receive security updates for packages distributed through the "other" repositories - partner, restricted, multiverse, etc? Or will it only get me updates for the packages in the "core" distribution? thanks! ~l

• Django: How can I add weight/ordering to a many to many relationship?

  I'm having Pages with TextBlocks on them. Text Blocks may appear on different pages, pages may have several text blocks on them. Every page may have these blocks in an ordering of it's own. This can be solved by using a separate through parameter. Like so: class TextBlock(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=255) text = models.TextField() class Page(models.Model): textblocks = models.ManyToManyField(TextBlock, through=OrderedTextBlock) class OrderedTextBlock(models.Model): text_block = models.ForeignKey(TextBlock) product_page = models.ForeignKey(ProductPage) weight = models.IntegerField() class Meta: ordering = ('weight',) But I'm not very enthousiastic about the violations of DRY for my app. (There's a lot of ordered ManyToMany relations). • Apt-Get Update: failure to fetch; can't connect to any sources

  I realize there are dozens of "apt-get update: failure to fetch" questions (I read through all I could find), but my present circumstance is unique to 12.04 and it affects all sources; not just launchpad. Additionally, I've tried several different servers in Europe and the U.S. as well as the "main server" (wherever that is) and they all yield the same result: I can't connect to any software sources. Additionally, I'm fairly certain the problem stems from the upgrade from 11.10-12.04 I performed this morning, as updates worked immediately before. Updates from the Update Manager worked fine and I could download some things (mutter) from the Software Center without incident, which makes me think I can connect to some subset of the Ubuntu servers (however, several other Ubuntu servers--like extras--and some canonical servers are listed as 'unable to connect'). • 12.04: Apt-Get Update: failure to fetch; can't connect to any sources

  I realize there are dozens of "apt-get update: failure to fetch" questions (I read through all I could find), but my present circumstance is unique to 12.04 and it affects all sources; not just launchpad. Additionally, I've tried several different servers in Europe and the U.S. as well as the "main server" (wherever that is) and they all yield the same result: I can't connect to any software sources. Additionally, I'm fairly certain the problem stems from the upgrade from 11.10-12.04 I performed this morning, as updates worked immediately before. Updates from the Update Manager worked fine and I could download some things (mutter) from the Software Center without incident, which makes me think I can connect to some subset of the Ubuntu servers (however, several other Ubuntu servers--like extras--and some canonical servers are listed as 'unable to connect').   Hi fellows, I want to create a professional website for my company. I'm not a designer. I know some html/css, but I don't have much experience making up advanced pages and layouts. I'd expect public area, with various articles, and a "customer zone", accessible via username and password, where clients will be able to track their orders and download files. It needs to look very modern. I don't want to use website templates, because they're too simple. I know some Wordpress, but that's mostly for blogs, and anyways you need to find a right theme besides the CMS itself... Is there any alternative solution, some kind of framework for building such portals? Preferably a system that doesn't require designer skills. Thanks!
