  • Should I move from Java programming to Delphi programming?

    over the years i have been employed in a permanent position with firms that did their development work in Windows SDK, VC++, and most recently Java; in my own eyes, I am language independent. Should I move from Java to Delphi (assuming pay-scale remains unchanged)? I'm concerned because, for the most part, the net presents a relatively bleak picture for this particular skill.

Do you store the sdf file on a storage card? Have you had any issues caused by it?   • Decent profiler for Windows?

    Does windows have any decent sampling (eg. non-instrumenting) profilers available? Preferably something akin to Shark on MacOS, although i am willing to accept that i am going to have to pay for such a profiler on windows. I've tried the profiler in VS Team Suite and was not overly impressed, and was wondering if there were any other good ones. [Edit: Erk, i forgot to say this is for C/C++, rather than .NET -- sorry for any confusion]

    What is the data paypal returns if we make recurring payments through a Subscription button on the website? How can we get transaction_id? It's that we want our users to pay with credit cards with no need to register, but so far we can't get transaction_id to get the information for automatic processes on the website directly.     When I publish a Flash file that contains any sound (such as a WAV file), I can choose the sound compression method (MP3, raw, ADPCM, etc.). My question is about the mp3 compression and it's licence. Flash gives me the option to compress a WAV file as mp3, but is the licence to use the mp3 format included? I have paid for a Flash licence, does it give the right to use mp3 in my SWF files freely or do I have to pay royalties to someone else?

    I seem to recall hearing at some point (I believe it was MIX09) that Microsoft has a licensing model of some sort where a business can consume licenses for up to two years, free of charge, until they reach a point where they are stable position and can pay their licensing at the end of two years.     I have a iAd that seems to be correctly displaying but when push a new view controller into the view i get a warning from the iAd that says it has been: WARNING A banner view (0x490fd0) has an ad but may be obscured. This message is only printed once per banner view. But the ad still runs fine so should i pay attention to this? I just tried adding self.adBannerView = nil; [adBannerView release];` just before i push the viewController but i still get that error
