  • sporadic routing to another website when opening a common url

    I have a strange problem in our office: Sometimes when opening a url from one of our projects random url in any browser not the right website shows up but some other website. In most of the cases it redirects to google.com with some parameters like https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=krOOU8_kGcSKswadyYDQBw&gws_rd=ssl or just the ugly google 404 page). But today it remains on the origial url but shows up the the content of http://debug.netdna-cdn.com/. This happens about 1 time a week and for no apparent reason. Even stranger it only occurs on a single pc in the network. It now happens on two different computers in the network. Both use windows 8. The problem cannot be fixed by clearing the browser cache but by rebooting the pc or using ipconfig /flushdns. So I think it has something to do with the dns cache of the machine. But I have no idea what the reason is for this and how i can figure out how to solve it. Any ideas?

  • Copying first 1000 PDF files having single, double quotes in their name to another folder

    I am having this folder with PDFs into it and I need to process 1000 at a time. So I need to move them into another folder, process them and delete them. For this I tried using $ find . -maxdepth 1 -type f |head -1000|xargs cp -t $destdir It gives error on single and double quotes in filename. There are thousands of files and I have no idea how many of them has these quotes in them. Can anyone help me find a solution? And I tried with the -0 option, it did not work

  • Mac OS X set terminal name that persists after SSHing somewhere else

    I try advice like this that recommends adding the following to your .profile: function tabname { printf "\e]1;$1\a" } So you can type tabname brokenbox to name your tab. The problem is as soon as I also type ssh [email protected] and log in, it wipes the tab name. I want a tab name that's as persistent as the tab, not the level of session I happen to be in. Is this possible? I don't even know what layer that data lives in.

    My mac'c machine name is something like this: hostname.company.com but whenever I connect to VPN, it becomes something like vpn-xxxx.company.com where xxxx are some random numbers. Because of this, some of my scripts which are dependent on host name gets blocked. We use the standard mac's vpn setup which comes with OS X Lion (under network preferences). How can I resolve to the correct mac's name even if I am on vpn ? That is even if I am connected to VPN, my machine name should resolve to hostname.company.com and NOT to vpn-xxxx.company.com. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    I bought a new VPS, and configured two applications test1.com and test2.com on ngix server, now I can access both the application inside VPS, Now I need to invoke the application from other machines. MY domain is registerd with Enom, So I added 'A' name pointed to IP address of the VPS, Currently my VPS is not providing any Name Server, So what steps need to be done to resolve the issue regarding Name Server so that i can externally invoke the domains like www.test.com and www.test2.com from other machines?   • 1TB HDD making strange noise (not a common one)

    I built a new PC some days ago, and everything seems perfect, except that the 1 TB HDD I cloned from my old 500 GB HDD is making a deep weird sound. First of all, every time I access the disk, I hear a deep sound, and when the PC is turning on, I hear some clicking (the rapid clicking is my mouse, I'm opening and closing folders to trigger the vibrating deep weird sound I'm describing). I'm using this 1TB disk for data mainly (I use a SSD as the OS). As background information, the disk is a seagate barracuda 7200 rpm which was RMAd and replaced with a refurbished one. Maybe the refurbished disks make these noises? should I worry about my data? (although the disk is working normal and passed a seagatetools short generic test? Thanks!     Is anyone aware of a public wildcard domain name that resolves to IP address 127.0.0.1. For example if I wanted to test a URL locally such as mywebsite.localhost.com or example.localhost.com but I don't have control of DNS settings (hosts file or whatever) then I would use this public DNS to resolve to 127.0.0.1. It needs to be wildcarded so that no matter whatever comes before localhost.com it still resolves to 127.0.0.1.

  • Problem deploying portlets on JBoss Portal 2.7.2: Not a canonical value

    I just downloaded the JBoss Portal Server 2.7.2 (JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2.3 bundle to be precise) and tried deploying portlets just as the SimpleHelloWorld provided in the samples. The portlet gets deployed fine but when I put it on a page I get the following exception. I tried adding other Portlets as well (such as the booking MVC portelt supplied with Spring WebFlow dist) but the same problem happens. The problem happens when the new instances are created by me, example when i create a new instance of CMS Portlet, I get the same error. If I use an existing instance it works. If I deploy a portlet that creates an instance using the "portle-instances.xml" then it works fine, but creating additional instances using the Admin and deploying them on page fails due to the following error. What am I doing wrong?     NSIS has a Name variable that you define in the script: Name "MyApp" It defines the name of the installer, that gets displayed as the window title, etc. Is there a way to pull the .NET Version number out of my main EXE and append it to the Name? So that my installer name would automatically be 'MyApp V2.2.0.0" or whatever?

    Hi I'm working on a project where I have code like the following: #define NAME() Array inline NAME()* NAME()_init (void* arg0){return (NAME()*)Object_init(arg0);} But I get the following result: inline Array* Array _init (void* arg0){return (Array*)Object_init(arg0);} With a space between the "Array" and the "_init" Because this is a function name, I obviously do not want the space.   • Refactoring multiple interfaces to a common interface using MVVM, MEF and Silverlight4

    I am just learning MVVM with MEF and already see the benefits but I am a little confused about some implementation details. The app I am building has several Models that do the same with with different entities (WCF RIA Services exposing a Entity framework object) and I would like to avoid implementing a similar interface/model for each view I need and the following is what I have come up with though it currently doesn't work. The common interface has a new completed event for each model that implements the base model, this was the easiest way I could implement a common class as the compiler did not like casting from a child to the base type. The code as it currently sits compiles and runs but the is a null IModel being passed into the [ImportingConstructor] for the FaqViewModel class.
