  • How to disable "Automatically search for drivers and install" in Windows 7

    I connected my TI-89 to my Windows 7 system, and apparently it is not plug-and-play. There was a link to a Windows configuration setting made available that gave the option to automatically search their windows site for drivers and automatically install them each time i connect an unrecognized device. Well, I selected that link with the intention of it being temporary and just that one time. That didnt work and the location/install of a driver was not successful. How can I reset that setting to not automatically install whatever drivers it thinks might be fitting? I cannot find that configuration setting when I looked for it recently.

  • SharePoint Server Search Not Crawling

    Hi there, we recently moved some sites into a new farm, everything seems to be doing fine, but the search for reasons I can't identify are not crawling the migrated content. We're getting this message in our crawl log for every document: http://xxx/sites/...announcements The object was not found. (The item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.) Of course the first thing I suspected was the crawler access account, so I logged into SharePoint with the account and was able to access via that URL just fine. I tried upping permissions (even all the way up to Admin) but to no avail. Thoughts?

    I have many files on a windows server 2000 machine that is setup to act as a networked disk drive, is there anyway I can index the files and make that index available as a search to more people than just me? Bonus if the index can look inside of documents such as readme.txt? If there is no easy way to do this globaly (for all users) Is there a way I could generate and store an index locally on my computer? If this is the wrong place to ask this question, any advice on community more suited?

  • Firefox location bar search: odd behaviour with Comodo firewall

    I recently installed Comodo firewall, and it changed the behaviour of my Firefox location bar. I used to type something there and it either redirected me to a google search page or it actually redirected me to the site I wanted at once: If I typed 'imdb cloud atlas' it would redirect me to IMDB's page on Cloud Atlas, and the same would happen if I typed 'wiki' or 'wikipedia', redirecting me to Wikipedia's page on it. Now, it redirects me here. I checked this page and everything is according to what they describe, yet it doesn't seem to act the way it should. And there are no Comodo add-ons or extensions installed on Firefox. Can anyone help me?

  • Vim - select text highlighted by search?

    In vim, I often perform searches to hop to a word or phrase instead of navigating there with h/j/k/l. Then I hit n to hop between occurrences. Say I've got this text: Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana. - Groucho Marx I type /an arrow and hit enter. That phrase is highlighted, and I jump to it. Now I want to visually select that text, maybe to change it or delete it. (Yes, I'm aware of the :s substitution command.) Since my cursor is at the letter "a" at the beginning of "an arrow," I can hit v, then press e a couple of times to highlight the entire phrase. But I have a feeling there's a shorter and more semantic way. After all, I've already specified the text I'm interested in. How might I compose a command to say "visually select the current search selection?"

  • Firefox: show bookmarks location in search result

    I've been a user of firefox for years. Like most, I collected a large number of bookmarks, and over time it now contins lots of folders and nested folders... When I add a new bookmark, I would like to place in specific folder as other related ones. The thing is when I use the search functionality in the Bookmarks Library, it does not say what folder each item is in. And I end up manually looking through all folders (very tedious!) Any suggestion on how to do more efficiently?

    Let's say I have a file with a long nested array, that's formatted like this: array( 'key1' => array( 'val1' => 'val', 'val2' => 'val', 'val3' => 'val', ), 'key2' => array( 'val1' => 'val', 'val2' => 'val', 'val3' => 'val', ), //etc... ); what I would like to do is have a way to grep/search a file, and by knowing key 1, get all the lines (the sub-array) it contains. is this possible?

    I have a list of 1285 keywords (database object names) that I have compiled into a TXT file; one keyword per line. I would like to search a directory of files (most have a .aspx or .cs extension) using this list of keywords. My main goal is find out which of the 1285 database objects are being referenced in these files. Can anyone recommend a tool that could accomplish this? Otherwise, I will just create my own. Thanks.

    Hello. I am trying to submit a form with method GET and action "index.php?id=3". The problem is that it jumps to the url specified but it cuts off "?id=3" part. I need that so I can identify an user. Any ideas on how I could submit the whole url ? I don't want to change this method, by design is much complex than I told you here. It's a simple version.     Hi guys, I just posted a similar question, but deleted it because I realized I was working with an old file...doh! I am just trying to get my XAMPP setup working for me. I have a live site that navigates to a login page at http://www.monkeycalendar.com/arvindkt/login.php That login page includes a root.php file that is found at http://www.monkeycalendar.com/arvindkt/root.php Live site works great. My localhost is set up so my sites are a folder in localhost: IE: http://www.example.com = localhost/example.com I'm having problems figuring out how to make my root folder point to the right directory.   • QFileDialog and german umlaute within a path

    Hey Everybody, i am working on a project, which i am developing with Python and PyQT4. I have stumbled upon a somewhat odd behaviour of the QFileDialog, that is not occuring when running the project within in my IDE (Eclipse). The problem is that QFileDialog in ExistingFiles-mode does fail to return the list of selected files, when one of the file paths is containing a german umlaut (ä,ü,ö, etc.) The QFileDialog is not offering options or parameters to make it sensible regarding this scenario. Does anyone have any ideas of how to tackle this issue?

  • 8-direction path finding algorithm

    I'm having trouble finding the right pathfinding algorithm for some AI I'm working on. I have players on a pitch, moving around freely (not stuck to a grid), but they are confined to moving in 8 directions (N NE E etc.) I was working on using A*, and a graph for this. But I realised, every node on the graph is equally far apart, and all the edges have the same weight - since the pitch is rectangular. And the number of nodes is enormous (being a large pitch, with them able to move between 1 pixel and another) I figured there must be another algorithm, optimised for this sort of thing?

  • Google groups not finding discussion thread but regular google search does?

    I'm having a problem with google groups and finding my own discussion threads. I go to the google group (in my case Android developer group) web view and try to search for my thread by entering the extact title of my thread. But it doesn't appear in the search results. On the other hand, when I search for the same title in the regular google web search, I get the thread right on top of the result list. I thought it might take a while until the groups index all new threads, but still after a few days, it still wouldn't show up.     I am using a simple search that displays search results: @adds = Add.search(params[:search]) In addition to the search results I'm trying to utilize a method, nearbys(), which displays objects that are close in proximity to the search result. The following method displays objects which are close to 2, but it does not display object 2. How do I display object 2 in conjunction with the nearby objects? @adds = Add.find(2).nearbys(10) While the above code functions, when I use search, @adds = Add.search(params[:search]).nearbys(10) a no method error is returned, undefined methodnearbys' for Array:0x30c3278` How can I search the model for an object AND use the nearbys() method AND display all results returned?

In development (Debug inside Visual Studio), everything look nice, all images show, all javascript works and all CSS display perfectly. When we do a package and install everything with IIS all images from Javascript or CSS doesn't display and. Question is : Since we cannot use the tilde (~) in javascript or in CSS what is the way to display those resources?

    Hi, I'm running a Mac OS X environment and am used to using ~/ to provide the access to the current user's directory. For example, in my python script I'm just trying to use os.chdir("/Users/aaron/Desktop/testdir/") But would like to use os.chdir("~/Desktop/testdir/") I'm getting a no such file or directory error when trying to run this. Any ideas?

I'm putting a working live site onto my localhost for dev work. so my site can be seen at the url: example.com or at: localhost/example.com OK. I Have a page at example.com/video/pageone.php On that page, I'm linking to a header by navigating to: <?php include '/home/myserver/public_html/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> For some reason, This will not work (on the live site): <?php include 'http://www.example.com/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> Can anyone tell me why 1) The above http address will not work, and 2) how can I make this work in localhost?     Hi, I have the following file structure: C:/wamp/myproject/admin/webroot/images I have an index.php file lying inside the admin folder which calls a header.inc.php file lying in the same folder. header.inc.php has the following code- <td align="left" valign="top" class="header-bg"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> index.php calls a css file (css.css) through the following code: <link href="<?php echo (WS_DIR_CSS); ?>/css.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> The css lies in the following location: C:/wamp/myproject/admin/webroot/css The css files has a class which has the following code: .header-bg { background:url(../images/header_bg.jpg) left top repeat-x; height:77px; } The image header_bg.jpg is not being displayed in the browser. Help anyone?
