  • Box2D Static-Dynamic body joint eliminates collisions

    - by andrewz
    I have a static body A, and a dynamic body B, and a dynamic body C. A is filtered to not collide with anything, B and C collide with each other. I wish to create a joint between B and A. When I create a joint (ex. revolute), B no longer collides with C - C passes through it as if it does not exist. What am I doing wrong? How can adding a joint prevent a body from colliding with another body it used to? EDIT: I want to join B with A, and have B collide with C, but not A collide with C. In realistic terms, I'm trying to create a revolute joint between a wheel (B) and a wall (A), and have a box (C) hit the wheel and the wheel would then rotate. EDIT: I create a the simplest revolute joint I can with these parameters (C++): b2RevoluteJointDef def; def.Initialize(A, B, B -> GetWorldCenter()); world -> CreateJoint(&def);

  • Cannot ping static ip on eth1

    - by Calvin Froedge
    I am trying to ping the network interface I have set up for eth1. This is my config: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 broadcast 192.168.1.255 If I ping 192.168.1.2, I get: Ping 192.168.1.2 (192.168.1.2) 56(84) bytes of data. From 192.168.1.3 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable Results of ifconfig tell me that the IPv4 address is 192.168.1.3. I can ping this ip. Bcast and Mask are as expected (same as in definition). I can ping 192.168.1.3 from my macbook. I cannot ping 192.168.1.2 locally or from my macbook. Any ideas why?

  • Structuring a rails application with static data

    - by Morten
    I'm working on a rails application, and so far I've focused on the api and the functionality. But now I'm more and more reaching a point where I will want to add static content, descriptions of the software and help information. Information that is generally in a CMS system. How do I in the best way structure this so I can still work with the application. Yet maintaining the look and feel of the rails application? Do write a CMS in my app? That seems a bit far fetched. Are there any Gems that do this? What is the de facto standard for architecting this scenario?

  • OOP: how much program logic should be encapsulated within related objects/classes as methods?

    - by Andrew
    I have a simple program which can have an admin user or just a normal user. The program also has two classes: for UserAccount and AdminAccount. The things an admin will need to do (use cases) include Add_Account, Remove_Account, and so on. My question is, should I try to encapsulate these use-cases into the objects? Only someone who is an Admin, logged in with an AdminAccount, should be able to add and remove other accounts. I could have a class-less Sub-procedure that adds new UserAccount objects to the system and is called when an admin presses the 'Add Account' button. Alternatively, I could place that procedure as a method inside the AdminAccount object, and have the button event execute some code like 'Admin.AddUser(name, password).' I'm more inclined to go with the first option, but I'm not sure how far this OO business is supposed to go.

  • Static Application Switcher is empty after show dekstop

    - by Jepzen
    Im using the Static Application Switcher to configure my ALT + TAB to cycle trough all applications not grouped. So far so good. Then I press Super + D to "hide all normal windows" (show desktop). This setting is from Keyboard - Shortcuts - Navigation. This also works BUT After hide all normal windows has been activated and I press ALT + TAB nothing comes up. I suspect they have been hidden so well that the Application Switcher does not longer sees them. Anyone know if this can be fixed trough settings somewhere?

  • C++ Building Static Library Project with a Folder Structure

    - by Jake
    I'm working on some static libraries using visual studio 2012, and after building I copy .lib and .h files to respective directories to match a desired hierarchy such as: drive:/libraries/libname/includes/libname/framework drive:/libraries/libname/includes/libname/utitlies drive:/libraries/libname/lib/... etc I'm thinking something similar to the boost folder layout. I have been doing this manually so far. My library solution contains projects, and when I update and recompile I simply recopy files where they need to be. Is there a simpler way to do this? Perhaps a way to compile the project with certain rules per project as to where the projects .h and .lib files should go?

  • Static HTML to Wordpress Migration SEO Implications?

    - by Kayle
    Recently, I migrated a client's site to a new server and a new home within wordpress so they could more easily edit their website and start a blog section. The static site was 10 years old a was showing up at place #3 for it's primary keyword, consistently, according to my client, and has dropped to rank #6-8 following the migration. At launch, we made sure the urls were identical (save the removal of ".htm" which we used 301 redirects to compensate for) and we generated a new XML map and pinged google with the new site. We keep a 404 log to make sure we're not losing any incoming links. We also have Google Webmaster Tools on this site and have zero errors/suggestions, everything seems ok. I was told by numerous sources that Google would not penalize us for the use of 301s, but it's the only thing I can think of right now that is different about the site, other than the platform. Any ideas about what we could be getting docked for?

  • Comparison between a value with static type Array and a possibly unrelated type Class

    - by Kaoru
    I got this error: Comparison between a value with static type Array and a possibly unrelated type Class. After i modify the class to many classes (before that, everything is on 1 class (all of the functions)), but after i move everything to many classes (all the functions is not on 1 class), that error appear. How to solve this? I am using AS3 and as3isolib Library. Here is the code after i modify the function: if (Constant.dude.y < Constant._numY) { if (Constant.dude.sprites != marioBackClass) { Constant.dude.sprites = [marioBackClass]; Constant.dudeDir = "Up"; } } Here is the code before i change the function to many classes: if (dude.y < ._numY) { if (dude.sprites.toString() != marioBackClass.toString()) { dude.sprites = [marioBackClass]; dudeDir = "Up"; } }

  • Business Objects Web Intelligence-style reporting in a Winform app. Is this possible?

    - by George
    I have a WinForm app that displays results in a Gridview control. If a user right mouse clicks on a row, he can then, from a popup menu, select a command to perform on the row much like windows File Explorer. But now I want to be able to give the user the ability to construct a filter so that he can control which rows are displayed in the grid w/o effecting the functionality of the application. I would also like the user to be able to select the columns/fields that he sees in the grid. For the basis of this question, let's assume that the data displayed in grid comes from a single table. business Objects' Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence applications give me very flexible and powerful reporting capabilities, but I want to integrate this capability into my WinForm application. Does Business Objects, or maybe Crystal Reports provide this sort of functionality? I can construct my own query builder but I'd rather not reinvent sliced bread.

  • Android SQLiteConstraintException: error code 19: constraint failed

    - by Tom D
    I've seen other questions about this exception, but all of them seem to be resolved with the solution that a row with the primary key specified already exists. This doesn't seem to be the case for me. I have tried replacing all single quotes in my strings with double quotes, but the same problem occurs. I'm trying to insert a row into the Settings table of the SQLite database I've created by doing the following: db.execSQL("DROP TABLE IF EXISTS "+Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME + ";"); db.execSQL(CREATE_MEDIA_TABLE); db.execSQL(CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE); Cursor c = getAllSettings(); //If there isn't already a settings row, create a row full of defaults if(c.getCount()==0){ ContentValues cv = new ContentValues(); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_UNIQUE_ID, "'"+Settings.uniqueID+"'"); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID, Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE, Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED, Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS, Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE, Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED, Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X, Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y, Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS, Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS, Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD, Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD_DEFAULT); cv.put(Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB, Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB_DEFAULT); this.db.insert(Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME, null, cv); } The CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE string is defined as the following: private static String CREATE_SETTINGS_TABLE = "CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS " + Settings.SETTINGS_TABLE_NAME + "(" + Settings.SETTING_UNIQUE_ID + " TEXT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, " + Settings.SETTING_DEVICE_ID + " TEXT NOT NULL , " + Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_CONNECTION_PREFERENCE_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_AD_HOC_ENABLED_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_SERVER_ADDRESS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_RECORDING_MODE_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_PREVIEW_ENABLED_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_X + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_PICTURE_RESOLUTION_Y + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_X + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_RESOLUTION_Y + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_VIDEO_FPS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_AUDIO_BITRATE_KBPS + " TEXT NOT NULL, " + Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD + " TEXT NOT NULL CHECK("+Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD+" IN("+Settings.SETTING_STORE_TO_SD_ALLOWED+")), " + Settings.SETTING_STORAGE_LIMIT_MB + " TEXT NOT NULL )"; However, when I execute my insert, I always get: 03-19 19:37:36.974: ERROR/Database(386): Error inserting server_address='0.0.0.0' storage_limit='-1' connection='none' preview_enabled='0' sd_enabled='1' video_fps='15' audio_bitrate='96' device_id='-1' recording_mode='none' picture_resolution_x='-1' picture_resolution_y='-1' unique_id='000000000000000' adhoc_enable='0' video_resolution_x='320' video_resolution_y='240' 03-19 19:45:34.284: ERROR/Database(446): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteConstraintException: error code 19: constraint failed It seems as if all the columns in my insert are not null.   • Override a static library's global function

    - by Jason Madux
    Not sure if this question belongs here or on SO, but posting here for now :) I'm trying to override a global function defined in "StaticLib" for my iOS application but the compiler keeps giving me the duplicate symbol error. Relevant code: #import "MyApplication.h" #import "StaticLib.h" NSData* getAllData() { NSLog(@"myGetAllData"); return nil; } @implementation MyApplication ... @end I've looked into Apple's runtime library but that all seems to be class-oriented. Any suggestions or is it just not possible to override global functions from static libraries?

  • How to find the static ip address of my router?

    - by OSX NINJA
    I bricked my Linksys WRT54GS router when trying to change the firmware on it from dd-wrt to open-wrt. In order to unbrick it, I need to be able to do an ftp transfer to it. The problem is that it isn't using DHCP addressing and I can't just use the default ip address of 192.168.1.1. I have to use the ip address it was set at before it got bricked. The problem is I forgot what that number was. Is there some program or script that can find it out?

  • Are there any negative impact running all services on a single static IP?

    - by Jake
    I need to setup a VPN trunk (with remote branch office location), Video Conference and Web Server on-premise in the office. I am used to ISP providing blocks of 8 or 16 IPs. But I have a new ISP which says they only can provide a single IP. Are there any issues with running all services on a single IP? I don't think this has any thing to do with bandwidth..? I'm not using SSL certificates... I can do port forwarding to different machines... What else...? Disclaimer: I am a programmer by training. Sorry for noob question.

  • Dynamic ARP Entries turning into Static ARP entries

    - by Zach
    I recently acquired a client that has a strange ARP caching issue on one of thier servers. I have a server that will eventually start turning it's dynamic ARP entries into static ARP entries. This causes problems because when the machine that has a static ARP entries on this server receives a new IP via DHCP, then the server is not able to communicate with the clients. Clearing the ARP cache resolves the issue and the server is fine for about a week and then it starts slowly turning ARP entries into static ARP entries. I haven't narrowed it down to when or how many it starts to do, but slowly you start seeing 1 static ARP and then 5 and then 10. The server in question is a Windows Server 2003 SP2. It is a DC, DHCP, and DNS server. I've checked the DHCP scope options and there's nothing in there that would indicate anything to do with static ARP entries. The only thing different between this DNS server and our other DNS server is that the 'Dynamically Update DNA A and PTR records for DHCP clients that do not request updates' is checked on the problematic server. I've done a bit of research about this and it seems that this may happen if any PXE type services are running, from what I can tell, there is nothing running a PXE server. I'm a bit lost as I have never seen dynamic ARP entries start to turn into static ARP entries. Right now my solution is a schedule task that runs every 24 hours to clear the ARP cache (arp -d *). I would like to not rely on this schedule task. Has anybody seen this before or have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

  • Why is awstats reporting my static IP instead of Domain Name?

    In AWStats under: "Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)" it has generated a list of pages that had linked to my page. • Static when metal USB plug touches my case, and other electrical problems.

    - by Archagon
    I have an aluminum PC case. Whenever the metal USB plug from my external drive contacts the front, I get crackling from my speakers, which are connected to an external USB soundcard. (This crackling happens even if they're not connected to the actual output jack.) A few possibly related problems: my audio occasionally starts popping once every few minutes, and my USB devices sometimes play the "connected" sound in Windows even though they're already connected, as if they're briefly disconnecting. My guess is that this has to do with the grounding, but I'm not sure exactly what to do. My case has a round grounding wire, but I don't know where to attach it, and fiddling with it didn't seem to have any effect. Suggestions?

  • Improving performance by using an additional static file server

    - by Max
    Hello there, I´m planning for a large website that includes many static assets (js, css, images and thumbnails) in the generated pages. That website will use TYPO3 as CMS (is is a customer requirement). I guess I could seriously improve performance / page load times by using a two server setup. One server where the main application (PHP) runs and another one where the static files sit being served by a trimmed down version of apache or something like lighthttpd. Including e. g. js or css files from the file server is of course no big deal. Just use an absolute url http://static.example.com/js/main.js and be done with it. But: that website will have pages with MANY thumbnails of e. g. product images on it. So I see two problems when the main application tries to create a thumbnail of some image: the original image like products/some.jpg is uploaded on the static file server and therefore not on the same server as the PHP application which tries to create the thumbnail. TYPO3 writes created thumbnails to a temp directory which is expected to be on the same server. Therefore, hundreds of thumbnails will be written and served from that temp directory which is on the same server as the main application - the static file server is in that case basically useless, all thumbnails will be requested from the server of the main application. So, my question is: how to overcome this shortcomings? Is it possible to "symlink" some directories to another server? So, for example, if PHP tries to open the original products image for thumbnail creation with imagecreate("products/some.jpg") the products folder actually "points" to the products folder on the static image server? I know something like this can be done with .htaccess but is it possible on file system level?

  • Configure Apache + Passenger to serve static files from different directory

    - by Rory Fitzpatrick
    I'm trying to setup Apache and Passenger to serve a Rails app. However, I also need it to serve static files from a directory other than /public and give precedence to these static files over anything in the Rails app. The Rails app is in /home/user/apps/testapp and the static files in /home/user/public_html. For various reasons the static files cannot simply be moved to the Rails public folder. Also note that the root http://domain.com/ should be served by the index.html file in the public_html folder. Here is the config I'm using: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName domain.com DocumentRoot /home/user/apps/testapp/public RewriteEngine On RewriteCond /home/user/public_html/%{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f RewriteCond /home/user/public_html/%{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ /home/user/public_html/$1 [L] </VirtualHost> This serves the Rails application fine but gives 404 for any static content from public_html. I have also tried a configuration that uses DocumentRoot /home/user/public_html but this doesn't serve the Rails app at all, presumably because Passenger doesn't know to process the request. Interestingly, if I change the conditions to !-f and !-d and the rewrite rule to redirecto to another domain, it works as expected (e.g. http://domain.com/doesnt_exist gets redirected to http://otherdomain.com/doesnt_exist) How can I configure Apache to serve static files like this, but allow all other requests to continue to Passenger?
