  • Namespace with index action in Rails

    I have an admin controller located inside /controllers/admin/admin_controller.rb I also have a pages controller located inside /controllers/admin/pages_controller.rb In my routes.rb file, I have the following: map.namespace :admin do |admin| admin.resources :pages end When the user goes to localhost:3000/admin, I'd like the user to see a page with a link to /admin/pages (Pages CRUD) and to / (To go back home). Since I am using a namespace, I cannot have an index action for /admin. How would I get this done and still have my controllers located inside my /controllers/admin folder (rather than using admin as a map.resources component and a has_many association to pages). Please note I am only interested in the show action of admin. Thank you!

    Hi. When I apply some animation to the view, which is out of window, the animation not start immediately. And then, I scroll the screen to show the animation target view, the animation will start. I hope to the animation will start immediately when it apply. Any ideas? Bellow is sample code.     I am supposed to be using test-driven development but in this particular case, as I am having trouble, I implemented the action method first.     Hi, In an app I have the following: def new @property = Property.new(:country_id => 1, :user_id => current_user.id, :status_id => 'draft') end def create @property = Property.new(params[:property]) if @property.save flash[:success] = t('The_property_is_successfully_created') redirect_to myimmonatie_url else flash.now[:error]=t("The_property_could_not_be_created") render :action => 'new' end end When an error accors, the line render :action = 'new' gets executed, but the my form gives an error: user blank country blank These cannot be blank (defined in model), meaning this code: @property = Property.new(:country_id => 1, :user_id => current_user.id, :status_id => 'draft') is not executed anymore. What is the reason and solution? Thanks!

  • Using Solaris zfs + iscsi targets with Oracle VM

    I was playing with my Oracle VM setup and needed some shared storage that was block based. I did not have a storage array available but I did have a solaris box, that I use for Oracle VDI, available. I set up a few iscsi targets on this solaris server and exported them to my 2 Oracle VM servers. Here's how I did this : (1) On the solaris side : # zpool list NAME SIZE USED AVAIL CAP HEALTH ALTROOT rpool 544G 129G 415G 23% ONLINE - I just have a simple zpool, called rpool, on this box. It has plenty of space available for my needs. I am setting up an 11gR2 rac template (the cool stuff Saar did) so I am using my devices to create a 2 node RAC cluster with phy: devices.

  • How to calculate shot angle and velocity to hit a moving target?

    I am developing a 2D Android game and I am making an aiming algorithm for AI projectiles to hit enemies either following a path, or free moving. At the moment it just calculates where the target will be after a distance and fires a projectile to meet it at that distance. Of course this means varying the projectile speed to meet the target. Does anyone have any tips for a simple-ish algorithm (optimal-ish) to calculate when the projectile needs to fire and where it needs to aim if it can only travel at a constant velocity? Say the projectile goes twice the speed of the target? The only way I can think of involves searching and seems quite large.

Creating a bzip2 file using tar cjf archive.tar.bz2 directory/* fails because there is not enough space for the tar. Does anybody know a way to create a tar file and "stream" it to a local file on my PC? Through putty or any other SSH tool?

    I'm running some web applications on an debian server and have to struggle with ddos attacks sometimes. It's eating up all my resources and I can't ssh anymore into the server. An idea was to drop all connections if the load avg is too high, so there are still resources for me and accept new connections if the load avg is low enough. Since this has to work under heavy load I'm afraid a cronjob wouldn't be fast enough or take too much resources. tl;dr: Is there a way to configure the behavior if the load avg is above a specific threshold?

    I'm having trouble with actors and actions. I have a list of actors, they all have either no action, or 1 sequence action This sequence action has either : a couple of actions (some are instant, some have duration 0) a couple of actions followed by a parallel action. My problem is the following: some of the instant actions are used to set the position and the alpha of the actor. So when one of the action is "move to x,y and set alpha to 0" the actor is visible for one frame at position 0,0 , move instantly to x,y for the next frame, and then disappears. Though this behaviours is to be expected, I want to avoid it. How can I achieve that? I tried to intercept the actions before I put actors in the stage but I need the stage width/height for some actions. So something like : Action actionSequence = actor.getActions().get(0); Array<Action> actions = ((SequenceAction) actionSequence).getActions(); for(Action act : actions){ if(act.act(0)) System.out.println("action " + act.toString() + " successfully run"); else System.out.println("action " + act.toString() + " wasn't instant"); } won't work. It gets even more complicated when an actor can also have a repeat action in stead of the sequence action (because you have to only run the actions that have duration 0 once without repeat, and then start the repeat). If I use a Html.TextArea without replacing with FCKeditor it works correctly, and if I use a standard Post form submit inplace of AJAX all works as expected. Am I doing something wrong? If not is there a suitable/straight-forward workaround for this problem?

    I want to run a batch file, which I do via the following: <CustomAction Id='InstallFilter' FileKey='install' ExeCommand='' Execute='deferred' /> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action='InstallFilter' Before='InstallFinalize' /> </InstallExecuteSequence> This will execute the batch file, but it runs in C:\Windows\System32 (or something like that). I want it to run in the directory that the file is found in. It won'et let me specify a Directory attribute with a FileKey attribute. How can I tell the installer to run out of a specific directory, preferably by the directory ID. Also, when I try to uninstall my app with script, I get an error message saying "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program required for the install to complete could not be run." This makes sense, as by the time the script gets run, the files have been removed. The question is: How do I specify that my action should only be run on install, not uninstall? How do I uninstall this current copy?
