  • Why Does My Website Redirect me to my localhost?

    Alright, my website has some issues that I'm not sure what's causing them. Visit this page http://online-file-sharing.net/tos.html and click one of the bottom footer links... it redirects you to your localhost in the address bar. I have no idea why it does this. I'm hosting this website on my own server, which is this computer, and using Xampp. If this information helps. Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm also using DYNDNS as my nameservers. I've already ask this question on superuser and webapps QnA sites neither could help. They said to come here. Another thing to note is that this website runs on one script and not multiple scripts (upload.cgi). However there are three files that aren't dynamic and aren't part of the upload.cgi file... these are about.html, browse.html and tos.html.     I am building a publicly facing website that does the following. Users log in. And then view a list of their customers. They click on a customer to view their past purchases, order them, change them etc. This is not a shopping site by the way. It is a simple look up tool. Note that none of the data accessed by the website is in anything other than a SQL database - no office documents. Also, the login does not use users Windows credentials on a VPN or something like that. Typically I would build this using a standard ASP.NET MVC website. However the client says they want to use Sharepoint. As I understand it, Sharepoint is used for workflow and websites that are collaboration tools such as the components you can see here http://www.sharepointhosting.com/sharepoint-features.html Here are my questions: Would I be right in saying that WSS is completely inappropriate for this task as it comes with an overhead that provides no benefits? If I had to use it, would I need WSS or MOSS? If I had to use it, would I be right in saying the site would consist of : List item a) Web Parts b) And a custom site layout. How do I create one of these?

OPTIONAL: which are all the methods and sources used by search engines to collect the keywords of a website? there are some high profile websites that aren't optimized on this as well, should I concerned about this anyway?, is there anything more important that I should be concerned about?   • Cannot Resolve Host Or Access Website Through Router

    This is weird. I am on Windows XP with Edimax BR 6204Wg. I have 3 devices - 2 laptops and 1 smartphone. 1st laptop and smartphone are connected through WiFi to router and 2nd laptop is connected through LAN to router. Before firmware upgrade i did not try to access website but after firmware upgrade to latest version: http://www.edimax.eu/en/support_detail.php?pd_id=11&pl1_id=3#02 i had problems resolving host, pinging, tracerting and accessing website. Sometimes ping and tracert work but i cannot access website and sometimes i can access website but ping and tracert do not work. Weird? I downgraded to previous version and no changes. If i can no longer access that website through Internet Explorer, i can access it in Firefox. I tried deleting cookies, clearing cache and that seem not make difference. Switching LAN port did not make difference. When i disconnect router and connect laptop through LAN to internet modem, everything is normal. I tried resetting router, resetting to factory default settings and all did not help. At the moment i can access website on laptop connected through LAN from Firefox and Internet Explorer, but on my smartphone i can access website only with Opera but not with built-in browser and Skyfire. UPDATE: I just could only access with Internet Explorer but not with other browsers on my PC. Minutes later i could access with all browsers. But on smartphone i could only access with Opera and not with other browsers. I am confused. I also determined that sometimes i can access and sometimes can't. What is also weird is that when ping and tracert cannot resolve host, i still am able to access website.

  • Problem with network after malware attack

    Im trying to help some friends with a Win XP machine. I got rid of the malware using Malware Bytes, and HiJackThis. But now they(I) have another problem. When the computer boot into Windows it seems fine. When I start Internet Explorer the browser window opens just fine, but nothing happens for at minute or two. After the two minutes of waiting, the network icon appears in the taskbar next to the clock, and then everything works. The computer is connected to the internet using a Ethernet adapter. I have looked at the Rvent Log and found an error from Perfnet with eventid 2004 <Provider Name="PerfNet" /> <EventID Qualifiers="49152">2004</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> What I have tried so far: In the device manager i have uninstalled the Ethernet adapter and installed it again. I have uninstalled and installed the Windows File and Printer Sharing service. I have verified that both server and workstation services are started. What should I do next?

  • Redundant Router and Load Balancing vs. DDoS attack

    With a small server farm at a hoster with great support and conditions, I worry about the increasing number of DDoS attacks against this hoster (not my web project, but other clients on the same location). I have booked a redundant router and load balancer as managed service with this hoster to share the load with all the dedicated servers. However, I was lost again today because another one's project was attacked with DDoS for hours :-( Each hour means hundreds of dollars loss whenever my adserver and tracking is not reachable. Even time-out advertising have to be paid by me but can not be resold to my clients without the servers being available. All the time, the servers, the load and traffic is OK and health, but no chance to keep this stable/online if the hoster is vulnerable. Anyone has ideas or suggestions how to protect - even against DDoS?
