• Easiest way to render Wiki Syntax (for example MoinMoin Wiki)

  I enjoy using to Wikis to document all kind of stuff (recently I used MoinMoin, so I am used to that syntax). No I am looking for a more light weight solution, for documents were setting up a moinmoin server is to much hassle. What is the "easiest" way to render a .txt file in Wiki syntax. (for example by displaying it, or converting it to HTML). it should work on Linux, but the more platform in-dependent, the better. Maybe there is even a Javascript based solution?

  Hi, i'm have not much experience in table design. My goal is a product table(s), it must design to fix some requirement below: Support many kind of products (TV, Phone, PC, ...). Each kind of product has different set of parameters like: Phone will have Color, Size, Weight, OS... PC will have CPU, HDD, RAM... Set of parameters must be dynamic.   Firstly i changed color borders of my sheet to white, because i want to have a white sheet. Then i made some headers and want to make border around it. The Problem is it made borders between the values in header but top, down are not seenable.   How do I transpose rows and columns in Access 2003? I have a multiple tables that I need to do this on. (I've reworded my question because feedback tells me it was confusing how I originally stated it.) Each table has 30 fields and 20 records. Lets say my fields are Name, Weight, Zip Code, Quality4, Quality5, Quality6 through Quality30 which is favorite movie. Let's say the records each describe a person. The people are Alice, Betty, Chuck, Dave, Edward etc through Tommy.. • Why won't my DIV height grow? Is it because I am using floats?

  Please help! I am trying to create some div sections and some of these div sections have some other divs that are floated. All of which I have cleared. But the sections are not growing to accomodate the content inside of them. Both of these are floated left and cleared. The rows of the left and right table have a field and value which are also floated left and right and cleared. At this point, I expect "first section" to grow as the content inside of it grows. But instead the height is stuck at 22px, the same height as the section title! What is going on? I tried overflow:auto for div.section and that worked. But when I tried to set this style for div.settings in "first section": div.data div.first div.settings { position: relative; top: 1em; } I end up with these scroll bars, instead of the height growing to fit the new changes. And everything was out of whack. I am really at my wit's end trying to figure this out. If anyone can give me any suggestions on what I am doing wrong, it would be a great help. Thanks.

With following code i'm setting widget in definite cell: view = QTableView() label = QLabel( <some html text> ) ... view.setIndexWidget(index, label) I used html to make label's text clickable, but links became blue with underline and moreover by clicking on it with right mouse button appears popup menu with "Copy Link Locaion" option, where i wanted to place some hidden information instead of url and of course do not let user see this info. I'm looking for light-weight widget, i thought that insertion of QGraphicsView in each cell will lead to big computer loads, but can't think of any other solution.   Reading about how Google solves the translation problem got me thinking. Would it be possible to build a strong chess engine by analysing several million games and determining the best possible move based largely (completely?) on statistics? There are several such chess databases (this is one that has 4.5 million games), and one could potentially weight moves in identical (or mirrored or reflected) positions using factors such as the ratings of the players involved, how old the game is (to factor in improvements in chess theory) etc. Any reasons why this wouldn't be a feasible approach to building a chess engine?

• Kohonen SOM Maps: Normalizing the input with unknown range

  According to "Introduction to Neural Networks with Java By Jeff Heaton", the input to the Kohonen neural network must be the values between -1 and 1. It is possible to normalize inputs where the range is known beforehand: For instance RGB (125, 125, 125) where the range is know as values 0 and 255: 1. Divide by 255: (125/255) = 0.49 (0.49,0.49,0.49) 2. Multiply by two and subtract one: ((0.49*2)-1)=-0.02 (-0.02,-0.02,-0.02) The question is how can we normalize the input where the range is unknown like our height or weight. Also, some other papers mention that the input must be normalized to the values between 0 and 1. Which is the proper way, "-1 and 1" or "0 and 1"?

• How can i open Thickbox from a form and feed it with data ?

  I have a simple search php script, within that script there is some html and javascript to make a search input field and a button. What i am trying to do is when someone enters a search, and presses submit, thickbox opens, and the results will be displayed in the thickbox. What i have so far is the search field and button, when i press submit, it briefly shows the thickbox, and than is overloaded by the result page, but than with no search results.   Hey. Another WPF question. In my XAML code I have a border: <Border x:Name="myBorder" Background="AliceBlue" Width="200" Height="200" BorderThickness="10" BorderBrush="Black"> </Border> and somewhere in code I increase the BorderThickness double thickness = myBorder.BorderThickness.Bottom + 2; myBorder.BorderThickness = new Thickness(thickness); and the result is that the border's weight increases but not outside the 200x200 width-height, but inner, decreasing the dimension. Is there a way to do the opposite?

I thought it would have a virtual COM port driver but instead, it uses HID drivers. • Visual studio winform designer shows design errors as text rather than html

  All of the sudden, visual studio displays designer errors as plain html text, for example: <DIV id="div1" class="ErrorStyle" width="100%"><span style="font-weight: 600"><br>Object reference not set to an instance of an object. </span><br><a href="" instead of displaying the usual html formatted. I haven't been able to find anything similar to it on google. Before getting this problem, when I tried opening the winform designer, I would get the run/save/cancel dialog of internet explorer for a .tmp file, instead of the designer window. That went away when I found out that I had notepad assigned to the .tmp file type and removed that. Any ideas how to fix this?

• Recommended Model Based Testing Tools

  Does anyone have any suggestions on what Model Based Testing Tools to use? Is Spec Explorer/SPEC# worth it's weight in tester training? What I have traditionally done is create a Visio Model where I call out the states and associated variables, outputs and expected results from each state. Then in a completely disconnected way, I data drive my test scripts with those variables based on that model. But, they are not connected. I want a way to create a model, associate the variables in a business friendly way, that will then build the data parameters for the scripts. I can't be the first person to need this. Is there a tool out there that will do basically that? Short of developing it myself.

  I'm having trouble finding the right pathfinding algorithm for some AI I'm working on. I have players on a pitch, moving around freely (not stuck to a grid), but they are confined to moving in 8 directions (N NE E etc.) I was working on using A*, and a graph for this. But I realised, every node on the graph is equally far apart, and all the edges have the same weight - since the pitch is rectangular. And the number of nodes is enormous (being a large pitch, with them able to move between 1 pixel and another) I figured there must be another algorithm, optimised for this sort of thing?

  I am facing issues with text box size when veiwing in Fire Fox 3.6. < input class="dat" type="text" name="rejection_reason" size="51" maxlength="70" onchange="on_change();" style is as: .dat { font-family : verdana,arial,helvetica; font-size : 8pt; font-weight : bold; text-align : left; vertical-align : middle; background-color : White; } Text box size in Fire Fox is bit smaller than IE6. Not sure why IE6 and FireFox displaying text box of diff size.

  Hello there, I'm trying to write some code to make a small application for searching text from files. Files should be crawled, and I need to put an inverted index to boost searches. My problem is that I kind of have ideas about how the parser would be, I'm willing to implement the AND, NOT, OR in the query. Whereas, I couldn't figure out how my index should be... I have never created an inverted index so if any body could suggest a feasable way to do it I would be very grateful... • What are the pros and cons of using an in memeory DB rather than a ThreadLocal

  we have been using ThreadLocal so far to carry some data so as to not clutter the API. However below are some of issues of using thread local that which I dont like 1) over the years the data items being carried in thread local has increased 2) Since we started using threads (for some light weight processing), we have also migrating these data to the threads in the pool and copying them back again I am thinking of using an in memory DB for these (we doesnt want to add this to the API). I wondering if this approach is good. What r the pros and cons. thx in advance.

• Exception design: Custom exceptions reading data from file?

  I have a method that reads data from a comma separated text file and constructs a list of entity objects, let's say customers. So it reads for example, Name Age Weight Then I take these data objects and pass them to a business layer that saves them to a database. Now the data in this file might be invalid, so I'm trying to figure out the best error handling design. For example, the text file might have character data in the Age field. Now my question is, should I throw an exception such as InvalidAgeException from the method reading the file data? And suppose there is length restriction on the Name field, so if the length is greater than max characters do I throw a NameTooLongException or just an InvalidNameException, or do I just accept it and wait until the business layer gets a hold of it and throw exceptions from there? (If you can point me to a good resource that would be good too)
