When use font-faces i need to put the path to the .ttf file like this: @font-face{ font-family: NosiferCaps-Regular; src: url('../fonts/1942/1942.ttf'); } .myClass{ font:39px/1.2 NosiferCaps-Regular, verdana ; text-shadow:2px 2px 9px gray; } So, how do I refer to "src: url('../fonts/1942/1942.ttf')" inside a style.css file with Spring?

• How to update user info with restful_authentication plugin in Rails?

  Hi people, I want to give the users to change their account info with restful_authentication plugin in rails. Considering that resources are already defined in routes.rb I was expecting it to work easily, bute somehow when I click the save button it calls the create method, instead of update, using a POST http request. Any ideas?

• What is the proper location for a sqlite3 database file?

  Hi, Everyone: I'm using a sqlite3 database to store app's data. Instead of building a database within program, I introduced an existing db file: 'abc.sqlite' into my project and put it under my 'Resources' folder. So, I think this db file should be inside of 'bundle', so at my init function, I used following statement to read it out: NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"abc" ofType:"sqlite"]; if(sqlite3_open([path UTF8String], &database) != SQLITE_OK) ... It's ok that this db can be opened and data can be retrieved from it. BUT, someone told me that it's better to copy this db file into user folder: such as 'Document'. So, my question is: is it ok to use this db from main bundle directly or copy it to user folder then use that copy. Which is better? Thank you very much!

• Windows Server 2008 - one MAC Address, assign multiple external IP's to VirtualBoxes running as guests on host

  Couldn't find any help @ google or here. The scenario: Windows Server 2008 Std x64 on i7-975, 12 GB RAM. The server is running in a data centre. One hardware NIC - RealTek PCIe GBE - one MAC Address. The data centre provides us 4 static external IP's. The first is assigned to the host by default of course. I have ordered all 4 IP's, the data centre can assign the available IP's to the physical MAC address of the given NIC only. This means one NIC, one MAC Address, 4 IP's. Everything works fine so far. Now, what I would like to have: Installed VirtualBox with 1-3 guests running, each gets it's own external IP assigned. Each of it should be an standalone Win Server 2008. It looks like the easiest way would be to put the guests into an virtual subnet and routing all data coming to the 2nd till 4th external IP through to this guests using there subnet IP's. I have been through the VirtualBox User Manuel regarding networking. What's not working: I can't use bridged networking without anything else, because the IP's are assigned to the one MAC address only. I can't use NAT networking because it does not allow access from outside or the host to the guest. I do not wanna use port forwarding. Host-only networking itself would not allow internet access, by sharing the default internet connection of the host, internet is granted from the guest to the outside but not from outside or the host to the guest. InternalNetworking is not really an option here. What I have tried is to create an additional MS Loopback adapter for a routed subnet, where the Vbox guests are in, now the idea was to NAT the internet connection to the loopback 'subnet'. But I can't ping the gateway from the guests. By using route command in the command shell or RRAS (static route, NAT) I didn't get there as well. Solutions like the following do work for the one way, but not for the way back: For your situation, it might be best to use the Host-Only adapter for ICS. Go to the preferences of VB itself and select network. There you can change the configuration for the interface. Set the IP address to 192.168.0.1, netmask 255.255.255.0. Disable the DHCP server if it isn't already and that's it. Now the Guest should get an IP from Windows itself and be able to get onto the internet, while you can also access the Host. Slowly I'm pretty stucked with this topic. There is a possibility I've just overlooked something or just didn't getting it by trying, especially using RRAS, but it's kinda hard to find useful howto's or something in the web. • Where to handle fatal exceptions

  I am considering a design where all fatal exceptions will be handled using a custom UncaughtExceptionHandler in a Swing application. This will include unanticipated RuntimeExceptions but also custom exceptions which are thrown when critical resources are unavailable or otherwise fail (e.g. a settings file not found, or a server communication error). The UncaughtExceptionHandler will do different things depending on the specific custom exception (and one thing for all the unanticipated), but in all cases the application will show the user an error message and exit. The alternative would be to keep the UncaughtExceptionHandler for all unanticipated exceptions, but handle all other fatal scenarios close to their origin. Is the design I'm considering sound, or should I use the alternative?

  I'd like to ensure that certain maintenance tasks are executed "eventually". For example, after I detect that some resources might no longer be used in a cache, I might call: [self performSelector:@selector(cleanupCache) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.5]; However, there might be numerous places where I detect this, and I don't want to be calling cleanupCache continuously. I'd like to consolidate multiple calls to cleanupCache so that we only periodically get ONE call to cleanupCache. Here's what I've come up with do to this-- is this the best way? • How do you handle live video streaming in Flash AS3?

  I've been dabbling with socket servers in Java and now I'm ready to get my feet wet with an idea I had. I would like to use python for my socket server and obviously AS3 for my client. I'm able to create a full chat using my own python socket server but I'm almost clueless what to do now that I want to add in LIVE video (want to make it a live video "chat"). I've found tutorials but they are for FMS and I can not afford that, also Red5 looked nice but couldn't find a live video tutorial off hand (plus I would have to switch to Red5 from my own socket server). So if someone could even nudge me into some resources on the subject (the subject of live video without using FMS) that would be very helpful, Google is failing me right now.

The animation works except I have to hardcode the height or bind to the height of an object in the expander which does not give the desired height. • With Maven, how would I prevent Maven from filtering certain properties but allowing others?

  The problem is that I'm trying to build a project that has in its resources a build.xml file. Basically, I package my project as a jar with Maven2, and then use ant installer to install my project. There is a property in the build.xml file that I need to filter called build.date, but there are other properties that I don't want to filter, like ${basedir}, because it's used by the ant installer but gets replaced by Maven's basedir variable. So, I need to somehow tell Maven to filter ${build.date}, but not ${basedir}. I tried creating a properties file as a filter with "basedir=${basedir}" as one of the properties, but I get the following error: Resolving expression: '${basedir}': Detected the following recursive expression cycle: [basedir] Any suggestions would be much appreciated. • Using delayed_job to process file uploads across multiple servers

  Does anyone have any good resources on how to do this? Basically, I'm working on a project (in Rails) where people can upload files. They might be big. I'd like to process them using delayed_job before sending them to S3. I'd also like to do this processing on a separate job queue server, rather than on the webserver itself. I'd rather not have to upload the files to the webserver, then transfer them to the job queue server, and then upload them to S3 if I don't have to. Thanks.

• Spawning Process Never Finishes on ASP.NET Page

  The code below spawns the process and sits forever, never finishing. It doesn't matter what process I run. If I use delegates it doesn't work either. It just hangs up in my dev and on the test enviornment. Also, if I use Shell with Wait it does the same thing. If I set wait to false in either approach it works just fine. It's ASP.NET 2.0 VB.NET DotNetNuke 4.0 on Windows Server 2003. I can't even phathom why this would hang up. UPDATE: It causes the CPU to throttle up but it's not running anything. It's like there's something weird going on in the threading. • Select a data template by item type programatically in WPF

  Hi all, unfortunately the WPF ToolbarTray does not support binding to a collection of ToolbarViewModels (Correct me, if I'm wrong). Thus I want to create the Toolbars programmatically. So there are two tasks, which I don't know how to do: Select the data template based on the item type. Instantiate the data template as toolbar Both should do the same as WPF does, when we use ItemsControl with an enumerable content and empty template. I used reflector to anaylse what WPF does. Task 1 is done by FrameworkElement.FindTemplateResourceInternal, but this is internal, and I couldn't find any public methods to acomplish the task. Of course one could enumerate all resources and match the data template data type property, but this seems sub-optimal. Who know's how to acomplish these tasks?

• Can't remove Default.png?

  Weird one... I had been fooling around with an initial splash screen but decided not to use it. But now, although I deleted Default.png from Resources, the splash screen still appears in the Simulator when I start the app. Default.png isn't in the project folder, I close and reopen Xcode, splash screen still there. Close ands reopen Simulator, splash screen still there. I remove the app from the Simulator, build, and the splash screen is still there Default.png. Any ideas?

• Tab widget example not running

I'm not really sure what's the problem, I got no errors while compiling, but i cannot see the application on the emulators screen. • UISegmentedControl is hidden under the titleBar

  i have been programming in C/C++ for my academic courses a lot and was under the impression i had a pretty good grasp of it. but lately i had to work in a bluetooth application that had a server and client implementation in a Linux box and an embedded system. i learned bluez bluetooth API, socket/network programming and coded it. however i ran into a lot of problems with memory leaks and segmentation faults and other memory related errors along the way.as the code grew more complex i all but lost control of the pointers and threads and sockets. this got me wondering that i had a lot to learn that they didn't say in the basic C/C++ books. so i wanted to ask for the resources that are available that'll help be code better in a professional way in C/C++ .especially for the Linux/Mac environment (gcc compiler).

• Problem with Eclipse and a Maven multi-module project

  I have created a Maven project with the following structure: + root-project pom.xml (pom) + sub-projectA (jar) + sub-projectB (jar) I have done the following steps: mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=root-project mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=sub-projectA mvn archetype:create –DgroupId=my.group.id –DartifactId=sub-projectB So I have, obviously, in the top-level pom.xml the following elements: <modules> <module>sub-projectA</module> <module>sub-projectB</module> </modules> The last step was: mvn eclipse:clean eclipse:eclipse Now if I import the root-project in Eclipse, it seems to look at my projects as resources and not like java projects. However if I import each of child projects sub-projectA and sub-projectB, it looks them like java projects. This is a big problem for me because I have a deeper hierarchy. Any help would be appreciated!

  I've been trying to integrate deploying java .war's in Glassfish V3 through Maven. While I have found a few plugins, none of them look to be very active: Maven Glassfish Plugin Eskato's Wordpress Blog on Maven And I got the most information out of Eskato's Blog, it was written March 2008, so I don't know what the state of Glassfish Maven integration is, nor can I find a suitable plugin to work with. With the Maven Glassfish Plugin I have had some success, but it still doesn't work entirely well for all goals it says it supports, which makes some of the commands ineffective. Has anyone else been able to integrate Glassfish V3 and Maven successfully? If so, what resources did you use to get it done?

  Hello, In my app I am using the ym4r-gm plugin, which allows you to play with the Google Maps API... I put the map "setup" in the controller: @map = GMap.new("div_map") @map.control_init(:large_map => true, :map_type => true) @map.center_zoom_init([47.0, 26.0], 7) ... And only render @map in the view. So my first question is whether I am using the right approach of "diving" this code? And the second question is: I have to models, which are rendering the same map (only the resources are different). Where should I put my refactored method that renders the map? In the application controller, maybe? Thanks in advance, I hope you will understand me!
