  I am trying to build a restful client using jaxrs:client as defined in http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/cxf/trunk/systests/jaxrs/src/test/resources/jaxrs_soap_rest/WEB-INF/beans.xml In my test class I am getting org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'com.abc.service.ExportServiceTest': Injection of autowired dependencies failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire field: private com.bankbazaar.service.ExportService com.abc.service.ExportServiceTest.exportClient; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.abc.service.ExportService] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. Dependency annotations: {@org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired(required=true), @org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Qualifier(value=exportClient)} this is my spring config However exportClient=(ExportService)applicationContext.getBean("exportClient"); this works. • Excel Add-in memory explosion

  I wrote a small .NET add in to excel 2007 that read data from external c++ api and display it inside an excel. The task manager shows that I'm having a memory leak (the memory usage is inflate linearly up to 250MB after whitch it throws an "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources error") but the problem disappears as soon as I minimize the excel window. The api uses delegates to return data and I update it into a dictionary. another thread is updating the excel from the dictionary every second. It is unlikely that the unmanaged code is responsible of the leak. Does anybody have an idea what can cause this? 10x!

• Where do Java Applets live?

  I'm trying to figure out where java Applets that I run from the browser get downloaded to. I'm using Firefox 3.0 on Windows XP with Java 1.6 if that makes any difference. From the Java Control Panel on the toolbar, I can access "Temporary Internet Files - Settings" to find the Java cache. From there I can show the resources and see a file called "dws2010066.dat". Does this resource correspond to a file on disk? I did a search in the Java cache (and my whole computer) but came up empty handed.

• Is it possible to make a PHP script run itself every hour or so without the use of a cronjob?

  I'm pretty sure I've seen this done in a php script once, although I cant find the script. It was some script that would automatically check for updates to that script, and then replace itself if there was an update. I don't actually need all that, I just want to be able to make my PHP script automatically run every 30 minutes to an hour, but I'd like to do it without cronjobs, if its possible. Any suggestions? Or is it even possible? EDIT: After reading through a possible duplicate that RC linked to, I'd like to clarify. I'd like to do this completely without using resources outside of the PHP script. AKA no outside cronjobs that send a GET request. I'd also like to do it without keeping the script running constantly and sleeping for 30 minutes

• Validate data before uploading through SSIS

  I have a SSIS package to upload data from Excel file into an Sql Server 2005 table. The excel file will have varied lines of data ranging from 20k - 30k lines. The upload works fine, when all the data are correct. But obviously fails when there is a small problem even in a single row. Examples like mandatory values presented null, inconvertable values (data type mismatch) etc. I want to validate the excel file before the upload and want to tell the user which row and column has got the error... Any idea as to how to accomplish this, without consuming much time and resources. Thanks

• Replacing TCP/IP pipe with WCF

  So currently my company is using a TCP/IP connection to talk between server and client programs, right now we are building this connection using System.RunTime.Remoting, which is clunky and not that reliable. It was built about 5 years ago and the model keeps getting reused and it's starting to propagate some issues, ports used, refused connections, etc. I'm trying to find some resources on how to change this over to WCF but I'm not really sure what I am looking for or what I should be searching. If you want some more information on what were actually doing with it I can go into some detail, but I'll need to pull up the code and make sure I explain it completely. thanks!

• How to perform "shell" icon embedding in Visual Studio 2010?

  As far as I can tell, there have been (at least?) three types of icon embedding. There's the original style used by shell32.dll and friends, .Net's embedding, and the new type that WPF uses. I'm looking for how to perform the first one, as I want to have a few other icons available as resources for a jumplist, which can only accept that style. However, I can't figure out how to embed in this style, only the other two. How do I do this? All the results I find on google, etc are for adding icons to ResX files or similar. I am using C#, if it matters.

  Hi all, I am using squid like Internet proxy server on RHEL 4 update 6 & 8 with quite heavy load i.e. 8k established connections during peak hour. Without depending much on application provider's expertise I want to achieve maximum o/p from linux. W.r.t. that I have certain questions as following: How to find out if there is scope for further tcp fine-tuning (without exhausting available resources) as the benchmark values given by vendor looks poor! Is there any parameter value that is available from OS / network stack that will show me the results. If at all there is scope, how shall I identify & configure OS tcp stack parameters i.e. using sysctl or any specific parameter Post tuning how shall I clearly measure performance enhancement / degradation ?

  Hello! I want to know how an array of strings is declared? What I do is I declare an array of pointers of pointers to strings. Eg. char *array[]= {"string1","string2","string3"}; I was reading about modifying environment variables in Linux and stumbled upon the pointer char **environ ( http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/resources/courses/2005/17423/doc/libc/Environment-Access.html#Environment-Access ). char **environ is declared as an array of strings. I think it should be a pointer to a pointer. For eg. char *array[]= {"string1","string2","string3"}; environ = array; Am I doing something wrong? I also read somewhere that char *argv[] = char **argv. How is it possible?

I am wondering how big application/ platform break down there application in to multiple module and how they able to manage modules dependencies. For example in some E-commerce application they tend to break down it in various modules like pricing,promotions,shipping.import/export and many more. when we develop those application we hardly think about the underlying modules and how they have been designed to provides functionalists. Most of those module are not web-applications but are standalone module and not deployed in the web-app as jar files. can any one help me to understand how they break up things or is there any standard way to do this.any help/resources to get insight will really be helpful

• Ideas for loading initial data in an iPhone application?

  Hi all, In my app I want to load some initial data to show the user how it works. The app uses a CoreData managed sqllite db. SO far I've thought of 3 options: Write code into a class to programmatically create the data. Create a xml file in the apps resources and load through a NSXmlParser whose delegate creates the entries in the sqllite db. Same as option #2, but use a json file and bring in a 3rd party lib to read it. Are there other options I have not found yet? and given that I'm talking about perhaps 6 records per table when there are 3 tables, which would you choose?

• Question about finding third party website APIs.

  I have a client that works with several well established 3rd party sites to sell his product (in this case hotel rooms, but the question is more general). Every time he gets a reservation he has to go to each site and manually make changes. I've done a quick search to see if there are APIs or any developer resources for these sites but have come up with nothing. I've emailed his contacts for each site but have yet to receive a response. I don't have a lot of experience working with third party sites like this but in the past when I've looked for APIs I usually come up empty handed. Are these types of APIs rare or am I just looking in the wrong places? It seems like an obvious thing to have for a company that has an affiliate program. Any suggestions on where to look for APIs or am I at the mercy of my "contact"?

  Hi, I need to create a handover document for a fairly large system consisting of all the stuff you'd expect from a telecom deployment: many servers, database clusters which copy some data between them in specific ways, tons of log files, both off-the-shelf and locally developed software, scripts, network configurations, local know-how, etc. It's really got as many sysadmin-typical elements, as development ones. The target of this document are in the first place sysadmins who take over the day-to-day operation tasks and some problem resolving, and in the second place people who want to learn about the system in general. Is there some place I can learn about how to write something like that? It could just as easily be a 10 page "what's where", as a 500 pages book about "all things telephony". Maybe it should be more than one document really. Please link some useful resources / books I could use for this task. PS: this is intended to be internal only, customer interactions etc. are out of scope here

• Rails: Routing to a different controller based on request format

  I'm writing an app where I want all requests for HTML to be handled by the same controller action. I have some other routes that are JSON-specific. Here's what my routes look like: Blog::Application.routes.draw do constraints format: :json do resources :posts end match "(*path)" => "web#index" end The problem is that constraints is being interpreted as "this route only works with the specified format" rather than "skip this route and try the next one if the request is not in the specified format." In other words, navigating to /posts in the browser gives me a 406 Not Acceptable because the URL is constrained to the JSON format. Instead, I want it to fall through to web#index if the request is for HTML, and hit the resourceful route if the request is for JSON. How can this be achieved? (Using Rails 3.2.9.)

After reading, I have found how to add resources, but I don't want the resource to be an attachment, I want it to be the actual text. • Why is my form triggering the wrong controller action?

  This form has multiple submit buttons, when clicked, it calls a simple JavaScript function to change the value of a hidden input (function is called "setHidden". This worked before, after some other not relevant code, it has ceased working. Essentially, the action it is supposed to call is never called, instead it seems to default back to a previous URL. I have taken a look at how the JSON library is structured and believe it was a good approach. JSON for Javascript. So they start off creating an instance of the class: if (!this.JSON) { this.JSON = {}; } Then they do this: (function () { if (typeof JSON.stringify !== 'function') { JSON.stringify = function (value, replacer, space) { This is works perfect if you just want to do JSON.[function_name], but what if I want to have a more structured library such that I want: JSON.[subgroup].[function]. On my local machine works fine, but on testing environment (when I deploy the application with aspnet_compiler) the application could not found Login.aspx view. So the question is how to deploy such applications? There is a directive from aspnet_compiler to tell the compiler that there are some embedded resources? Thanks

  I've seen some limited resources on checking for cookies with Nginx, but I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for, hopefully some of you Nginx masters can give me a hand. • Proper way to structure a Sync Framework DAL

  I am creating a WPF app that needs to allow users to work in a temporary disconnected state and I plan to use a Local Database Cache. My question's are about my data access layer. Do you typically create the whole DAL to point at the Cache or both and create a switching mechanism? Is Entity's a good way to go for my DAL against the Cache? I am used to L2S but my understanding is that I can't use that against SQLCE, correct? Thanks! PS: Any good resources out there for using Sync, Linq, and WPF ALL TOGETHER? Tutorials, videos, etc?

  I'm diving into web development and I built my personal website using Ruby on Rails 3.1 and I'd like to add a blog to it. Octopress sounds really awesome, and it's written in Ruby, but I can't find a single resource online that discusses integrating Octopress into a Rails app. I know that's not what it was designed for, but I'm amazed there's no discussion on it considering the popularity of these two technologies. The only resources I can find are discussions on using Octopress to create a stand-alone blog website. How can I integrate Octopress into my existing Rails 3.1 app?
