  • How do I create email addresses for DotNetNuke users using my domain ([email protected]

    My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

  • XML Postback issue

    I have a script that is designed to parse XML postbacks from Ultracart, right now just dumps it into a MySQL table. The script works fine if I point it to a XML file on my localhost but using 'php://input' it doesn't seem to grabbing anything.     I have a method whose callers require different datatypes. I could repeat the requisite conversions a dozen times by putting them in each of the callers, but it seems much more efficient to do it once in the called method. public String myMethod(String myArg) { return DoSomething(myArg); } public Int32 myMethod(String myArg) { return Convert.ToInt32(DoSomething(myArg)); } private String DoSomething(key) { return SomeList[key]; } If I have multiple methods that pull data from SomeList and have to utilize different data types then in each I have to do a type conversion. Examples might be session variables or query or form requests or any other number of things.   • Is JAX-RS suitable as a MVC framework?

    JAX-RS has some MVC support, but I wonder if JAX-RS is really a good choice to build web application for human use. If a user enters wrong or incomplete information in a form, it should be displayed again like with Grails or Wicket. Is there a comfortable way to do this with JAX-RS? As far as I know the URI mapping doesn't work correctly, if not all required parameters are given or there are type conversion problems (with Date for example). Is that correct? Is there support for internationalized templates?

    I have textbox and lable in update panel witch i refresh with javascript __doPostBack(upEditReminder,id); then i set both label and textbox text to current datetime protected void upReminder_Onload(object sender, EventArgs e) { lbTest.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString(); tbReminder.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString(); Problem is that lable is updated but textbox date is updated only once when the page is loaded but not when __doPostBack(upEditReminder,id); is triggered.   • Including non-standard C headers in C++

    I needed to include a few c headers ( non standard header files ) in my C++ code to be compiled by gcc. The C header (foo.h) has support for : #ifdef __cplusplus extern "C" { #endif and similarly at the end for }. The c++ code has the include "foo.h" I believe I should be able to just include the header (foo.h) and create instances of structs defined in the .h file. I am not able to compile the source code. It seems like the compiler looks at the c code as if it were c++ code. I see error such as error: expected constructor, destructor or type conversion before "(" Did I do something wrong ? I took advise from : http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/mixing-c-and-cpp.html What else do i need to do, to tell the c++ compiler "expect and compile as c code" ?

    In Ror or Django or web2py you can "describe" a database (as a set of classes that remaps to tables) and the framework (having being provided with a connection string to the desired database) generates the tables, fields, relations and in the case of RoR and web2py it also keeps it up-to-date (eg, removing a class drops the table, adding a property to the class triggers an "alter table add" etc). Is there any Perl module that does the same? Eg, it takes the YAML/XML/JSON description of a database as input and modifies/generates the database schema accordingly?

    I've got this class: class Foo { public string Name { get; set; } } And this class class Foo<T> : Foo { public T Data { get; set; } } Here's what I want to do: public Foo<T> GetSome() { Foo foo = GetFoo(); Foo<T> foot = (Foo<T>)foo; foot.Data = GetData<T>(); return foot; } What's the easiest way to convert Foo to Foo<T>? I can't cast directly InvalidCastException) and I don't want to copy each property manually (in my actual use case, there's more than one property) if I don't have to. Is a user-defined type conversion the way to go?

    I'm inserting a batch of 100 records, each containing a dictonary containing arbitrarily long HTML strings, and by god, it's slow. On the iphone, the runloop is blocking for several seconds during this transaction. Is my only recourse to use another thread? I'm already using several for acquiring data from HTTP servers, and the sqlite documentation explicitly discourages threading with the database, even though it's supposed to be thread-safe... Is there something I'm doing extremely wrong that if fixed, would drastically reduce the time it takes to complete the whole operation? Does anyone understand how this is working and if the output value is an approximation for temperature in celcius or kelvin? Is it something to do with products of logarithms?
