  • MS-Access to SQL Server 2000 problem with datetime

    - by 0plus1
    I'm trying to transfer some data from Access to SQL Server 2000 (there are no other way to do this sadly), I'm using Access to mssql to do the job. The program fails everytime it finds a datetime in this fashion: 03/07/2009 10.17.00 While it imports date like this: 29/12/2008 I don't understand where this problem come from so I ask you for your help. Thank you very much.

  • Sql Shorthand For Dates

    - by vigilant
    Is there a way to write a query equivalent to select * from log_table where dt >= 'nov-27-2009' and dt < 'nov-28-2009'; but where you could specify only 1 date and say you want the results for that entire day until the next one. I'm just making this up, but something of the form: select * from log_table where dt = 'nov-27-2009':+1;

  • Why does using ASP.NET OutputCache keep returning a 200 OK, not a 304 Not Modified?

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, i have a simple aspx page. Here's the top of it:- <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Foo.aspx.cs" Inherits="Foo" %> <%@ OutputCache Duration="3600" VaryByParam="none" Location="Any" %> Now, every time I hit the page in FireFox (either hit F5 or hit enter in the url bar) I keep getting a 200 OK response. Here's a sample reply from FireBug :- Request Headers:- GET /sitemap.xml HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost.foo.com.au User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-au,en-gb;q=0.7,en;q=0.3 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: <snipped> If-Modified-Since: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:17 GMT If-None-Match: "" Cache-Control: max-age=0 Response Headers:- HTTP/1.1 200 OK Cache-Control: public Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Expires: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 08:35:17 GMT Last-Modified: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:17 GMT Etag: "" Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 X-Powered-By: UrlRewriter.NET 2.0.0 X-AspNet-Version: 4.0.30319 Date: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:20 GMT Content-Length: 775 Firebug Cache tab:- Last Modified Tue Jun 01 2010 17:35:20 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Last Fetched Tue Jun 01 2010 17:35:20 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Expires Tue Jun 01 2010 18:35:17 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Data Size 775 Fetch Count 105 Device disk Now, if i try it in Fiddler using the Request Builder (and no extra data) I also keep getting the same 200 OK reply.   • B-V to Kelvin formula

    - by PeanutPower
    Whilst looking for a "B-V color index to temperature conversion formula" I found this javascript: var C1 = 3.979145; var C2 = -0.654499; var C3 = 1.74069; var C4 = -4.608815; var C5 = 6.7926; var C6 = -5.39691; var C7 = 2.19297; var C8 = -.359496; bmv = parseFloat(BV); with (Math) { logt= C1 +C2*bmv +C3*pow(bmv,2) +C4*pow(bmv,3) +C5*pow(bmv,4) +C6*pow(bmv,5) +C7*pow(bmv,6) +C8*pow(bmv,7); t=pow(10,logt); } Which is supposed to convert B-V color index to temperature. Does anyone understand how this is working and if the output value is an approximation for temperature in celcius or kelvin? Is it something to do with products of logarithms?

  • Casting a non-generic type to a generic one

    - by John Sheehan
    I've got this class: class Foo { public string Name { get; set; } } And this class class Foo<T> : Foo { public T Data { get; set; } } Here's what I want to do: public Foo<T> GetSome() { Foo foo = GetFoo(); Foo<T> foot = (Foo<T>)foo; foot.Data = GetData<T>(); return foot; } What's the easiest way to convert Foo to Foo<T>? I can't cast directly InvalidCastException) and I don't want to copy each property manually (in my actual use case, there's more than one property) if I don't have to. Is a user-defined type conversion the way to go?

  • Regex validate dates like "Sun, 20 Jun 10"

    - by Trindaz
    Hi, I'm working on a regular expression that will only return true when a date string is in a format something like 'ddd, dd mmm yy'. Valid matches would be values like "Sun, 20 Jun 10" or "Mon, 21 Jun 10" but not "Sunday, 20 Jun 10" or "20 Jun 10". This will be used with mb_ereg in PHP. My attempts so far have only got me half way there. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Dave

  • Using PHP's IMAP library triggers Kaspersky's Antivirus

    - by TMG
    Hello, I just started today working with PHP's IMAP library, and while imap_fetchbody or imap_body are called, it is triggering my Kaspersky antivirus. The viruses are Trojan.Win32.Agent.dmyq and Trojan.Win32.FraudPack.aoda. I am running this off a local development machine with XAMPP and Kaspersky AV. Now, I am sure there are viruses there since there is spam in the box (who doesn't need a some viagra or vicodin these days?). And I know that since the raw body includes attachments and different mime-types, bad stuff can be in the body. So my question is: are there any risks using these libraries? I am assuming that the IMAP functions are retrieving the body, caching it to disk/memory and the AV scanning it sees the data. Is that correct? Are there any known security concerns using this library (I couldn't find any)? Does it clean up cached message parts perfectly or might viral files be sitting somewhere? Is there a better way to get plain text out of the body than this? Right now I am using the following code (credit to Kevin Steffer): function get_mime_type(&$structure) { $primary_mime_type = array("TEXT", "MULTIPART","MESSAGE", "APPLICATION", "AUDIO","IMAGE", "VIDEO", "OTHER"); if($structure->subtype) { return $primary_mime_type[(int) $structure->type] . '/' .$structure->subtype; } return "TEXT/PLAIN"; } function get_part($stream, $msg_number, $mime_type, $structure = false, $part_number = false) { if(!$structure) { $structure = imap_fetchstructure($stream, $msg_number); } if($structure) { if($mime_type == get_mime_type($structure)) { if(!$part_number) { $part_number = "1"; } $text = imap_fetchbody($stream, $msg_number, $part_number); if($structure->encoding == 3) { return imap_base64($text); } else if($structure->encoding == 4) { return imap_qprint($text); } else { return $text; } } if($structure->type == 1) /* multipart */ { while(list($index, $sub_structure) = each($structure->parts)) { if($part_number) { $prefix = $part_number . '.'; } $data = get_part($stream, $msg_number, $mime_type, $sub_structure,$prefix . ($index + 1)); if($data) { return $data; } } // END OF WHILE } // END OF MULTIPART } // END OF STRUTURE return false; } // END OF FUNCTION $connection = imap_open($server, $login, $password); $count = imap_num_msg($connection); for($i = 1; $i <= $count; $i++) { $header = imap_headerinfo($connection, $i); $from = $header->fromaddress; $to = $header->toaddress; $subject = $header->subject; $date = $header->date; $body = get_part($connection, $i, "TEXT/PLAIN"); }

  • Standard Place for an Empty String Array in the JDK

    - by Simon B
    Hi is there a standard place for accessing empty array constants in the JDK 1.5. When I want to do a conversion from a String Collection (e.g. ArrayList)to a String Array I find myself using my own which is defined in my own Constants class: public static final String[] EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY = new String[0]; And then in my client code something like: String[] retVal = myStringList.toArray(Constants.EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY); return retVal; I was wondering if this is the "idiomatic" of doing it or if I'm missing something I get the impression from the brief search I did that this kind of thing is prevalent in many people's code. Any ideas, answers, comment (aside from that I shouldn't really use String Arrays) greatly appreciated, Cheers Simon

  • Choosing random action, Flash AS3

    - by esryl
    I have 2 actions in a Flash file that I would like to test for conversion. One is opening a link in a tab/window, the other loading the content in a Colorbox iframe over the page. How do I randomly choose one of the following actions? I currently listen for a click on a button: clickJoin.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,toJoin); My two actions are: navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.google.com/"), '_blank'); and ExternalInterface.call('$.fn.colorbox({ href: "http://www.google.com/", width:"80%", height:"80%", iframe:true, onLoad:function(){ $("#player").css({"visibility":"hidden"}); }, onClosed:function(){ $("#player").css({"visibility":"visible"}); }}) ');

  • Convert JSON String to Java Object or HashMap

    - by Priyank
    Hi. I am writing an android app. I want to pass some data across the intents/activities and I feel that a conversion to and from JSON is probably a more optimal way at this point. I am able to convert a java hashmap to a json string successfully using JSONObject support. However i need to convert back this JSON string to a java object or a hashmap. What is the best way to go about it. Is parcelable really a change worth doing; if I have simple 5 field object? What are the other ways to transfer data between intents. Cheers

  • varchar comparison in SQL Server

    - by Ram
    I am looking for some SQL varchar comparison function like C# string.compare (we can ignore case for now, should return zero when the character expression are same and a non zero expression when they are different) Basically I have some alphanumeric column in one table which needs to be verified in another table. I cannot do select A.col1 - B.col1 from (query) as "-" operator cannot be applied on character expressions I cannot cast my expression as int (and then do a difference/subtraction) as it fails select cast ('ASXT000R' as int) Conversion failed when converting varchar 'ASXT000R' to int Soundex would not do it as soundex is same for 2 similar strings Difference would not do it as select difference('abc','ABC') = 4 (as per msdn, difference is the difference in the soundex of 2 character expressions and difference =4 implies least different) Is there any other way of doing it ?

  • Experiences with "language converters"?

    - by Friedrich
    I have read a few articles mentioning converters from one language to another. I'm a bit more than skeptical about the use of such kind of tools. Does anyone know or have experiences let's say about Visual Basic to Java or vs converters? Just one example to pick http://www.tvobjects.com/products/products.html, claims to be the "world leader" or so in that aspect, However if read this: http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/active-grid.html There the author states: "The consensus of MySQL users is that automated conversion tools for MS Access do not work. For example, tools that translate existing Access applications to Java often result in 80% complete solutions where finishing the last 20% of the work takes longer than starting from scratch." Well we know we need 80% of the time to implement the first 80% functionality and another 80% of the time for the other 20 %.... So has anyone tried such tools and found them to be worthwhile?

  • Model Validation for record creation in rails

    - by Elliot
    Hey Guys, Lets say the model for books is: created_at user_id (int) author_id (int) genre_id (int) pages (int) I want to let people change the "created_at" field upon record creation. I also want to make sure that a record can't have the exact same created_at, user_id, and author_id as any other record (i.e. each needs its own date). Whats the best to perform this type of validation, and how should I go about doing it? Best, Elliot

  • Accessing the feed/entry/id field of an ATOM 1.0 feed with the ROME library

    - by PartlyCloudy
    Hi, I feel a bit stupid asking this question, but I don't know how I can access the ID field of an entry when using ROME to parse an Atom feed. ROME provides it's own meta level of feeds/items, i.e. SyndFeed and SyndEntry. Being an abstraction over RSS and ATOM they only contain elements both formats support. Thus, there is no method to get an ID of an entry. There also exist low level packages for the distinct formats, and the Atom package contains com.sun.syndication.feed.atom.Entry, which provides getId(). However, I don't know how can I convert my SyndEntry into an Entry. I have not found a way to convert it. The (outdated) tutorials show a conversion, but that's only for output though. So how can I easily access the ID field? Thanks in advance.

  • How to improve my LDAP schema?

    - by asmaier
    Hello, I have a OpenLDAP Database and it holds some project objects that look like dn: cn=Proj1,ou=Project,ou=ua,dc=org cn: Proj1 objectClass: top objectClass: posixGroup member: 001ag member: 002ag System: ABEL System: PCx Budget: ABEL:1000000:0.3 Budget: PCx:300000:0.3 One can see that the Budget attribute is a ":"-separated string, where the first part holds the name of the system the budget is for, the second part holds some budget (which may change every month) and the last entry is a conversion factor for the budget of that system. Seeing this, I thought this is bad database design, since attribute values should always be atomic. But how can I improve that in LDAP, so that I can do a direct ldapsearch or a direct ldapmodify of the budget of System "ABEL" instead of writing a script, that will have to parse and split the ":"-separated string?
