    I found this command line search and replace example: find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 sed -i 's/find/replace/g' It worked fine except it changed the date and file ownership on EVERY file it searched through, even those that did not contain the search text.   • Can I set a property on an object that is only declared on the instance type, when I don't know the

    Let me explain. I have a List into which I am adding various ASP.NET controls. I then wish to loop through the list and set a CssClass, however not every Control supports the property CssClass. What I would like to do is test if the underlying instance type supports the CssClass property and set it, but I'm not sure how to do the conversion prior to setting the property since I don't know the type of each Control object. I know that I can use typeof or x.GetType(), but I'm not sure how to use these to convert the controls back to the instance type in order to test for and then set the property. Actually I seem to have solved this, so I thought that I would post the code here for others. foreach (Control c in controlList) { PropertyInfo pi = c.GetType().GetProperty("CssClass"); if (pi != null) pi.SetValue(c, "desired_css_class", null); } I hope that this helps someone else as I has taken me hours to research these 2 lines of code.     Hi I am trying to implement the java logging in my application. I want to use two handlers. A file handler and my own console handler. Both of my handlers work fine. My logging is send to a file and to the console . My logging is also sent to the default console handler, which i do not want. If you run my code you will see extra two line sent to the console. I don't want to use de default console handler. Does anyone know how to disable the default console handler. I only want to use the two hadlers i have created.     As a embedded systems programmer I always need to make lots of base conversions (dec to hex, hex to bin and so on...), and I must admit: Windows 7 calculator is a good calc, but too limited in my point of view. I work a lot with communications protocols and it`s common to need some base conversion in this field of knowledge. I`m looking for a calculator software (not a hardware one), to help with base conversions, but it must also support scientific calc. Can anyone help on this?     I have a single table called "Indexes", it contains one nvarchar and three ntext columns (all Full Text Indexes). Index is up to date. CONTAINSTABLE(Indexes, *), 'test', 5) //5 results No matter what I change the above keyword too, it only returns the first 3-5 results. It should roughly return 90-120 results, for the above query.     Ok I've just ran into this and I was only supposed to be checking my emails however I've ended up watching this (and not far off subscribing to TekPub). http://tekpub.com/production/starter Now these app is a great starting point, but it raises one issue for me and the development process I've been shown to follow (rightly or wrongly). There is no conversion from the LinqToSql object when passing data to the view. Are there any negitives to this? The main one I can see is with validation, does this cause issues when using MVC's built in validation as this is somthing we use extensivly. Because we are using the built in objects generated by LinqToSql how would one go about adding validation, like [Required(ErrorMessage="Name is Required")] public string Name {get;set;} Interested to understand the benifits of this methodology and any negitives that, should we take it on, experiance through the development process.

Example: calldate is 2010-03-16 22:43:28 How would I select this using calldate between '$date1' AND '$date2' to wildcard the timestamp after the date?     To test, you'd have to log in to the example page here: http://www.avaline.com /Drinkware/Sport-Water-Bottles/Monterey-DAB20 From there, the Color drop-down swaps out the right color images in IE8, FF3.6(the latest), Chrome4.1(up to date), but not in IE7. I don't get it...but I'm plugging along trying to debug it with visual studio.
