  • Get a list/tuple/dict of *all* the arguments passed to a function?

    - by Phillip Oldham
    Given the following function: def foo(a, b, c): pass How would one obtain a list/tuple/dict/etc of the arguments passed in? Specifically, I'm looking for Python's version of JavaScript's arguments keyword or PHP's func_get_args() method. What I'm not looking for is a solution using *args or **kwargs; I need to specify the argument names in the function definition (to ensure they're being passed in) but within the function I want to work with them in a list- or dict-style structure.

  • How do i provide a custom session ID getter/setter in asp.net

    - by Monsters
    I want to pass the sessionID as a json parameter, I can see how to override SessionIDManager and such, but this just covers custom creation/validation of sessionID's as opposed to where it actually gets the sessionID from. There is of course 'cookieless' which puts it in the url, but that doesn't work for me either. So i'd like to override the session handling so I can specify where it should look for the sessionID.

  • does passing __m128i objects by reference to inline function cause these objects to be moved to stac

    - by ~buratinas
    Hello, I'm writing transpose function for 8x16bit vectors with SSE2 intrinsics. Since there are 8 arguments for that function (a matrix of 8x8x16bit size), I can't do anything but pass them by reference. Will that be optimized by the compiler (I mean, will these __m128i objects be passed in registers instead of stack)? Code snippet: inline void transpose (__m128i &a0, __m128i &a1, __m128i &a2, __m128i &a3, __m128i &a4, __m128i &a5, __m128i &a6, __m128i &a7) { .... }

  • find all text before using regex

    - by jeff
    How can I use regex to find all text before the text "All text before this line will be included"? I have includes some sample text below for example This can include deleting, updating, or adding records to your database, which would then be reflex. All text before this line will be included You can make this a bit more sophisticated by encrypting the random number and then verifying that it is still a number when it is decrypted. Alternatively, you can pass a value and a key instead.

  • HtmlUnit click() behaves differently?

    - by rhcp2p
    Hi, A question regarding the HtmlUnit java libary: I've created a log on my server, and noticed that the click() method doesn't pass the "referral" information when it is invoked through a "HtmlElement" or "HtmlArea". when invoked through the more commonly used HtmlAnchor- the refferral information is passed. This is strange since HtmlAnchor is a Subclass of HtmlElement Thanks for the help

  • session variable values are not being passed between pages

    - by ravi nankani
    hi, i am a little new to php and although i have managed to pass values of session variables before this piece of code is leaving me puzzled <form action="team_reg2.php" method="post" name="form1" class="cent" id="form1"> Team Registration "; print "member$i"; print "\n"; print "\n"; print "Please enter only id\n"; } ? now this will pass via post to team_reg2.php echo " please note your team id is 1 "; echo " your team members are : "; for($i=1;$i<=$num;$i++) { $name='mem'.$i; echo "$_POST[$name]"; } } else { $str="select * from $query where ("; for($i=1;$i<=$num;$i++) { $name='mem'.$i; $text="p_id='$_POST[$name]'"; if($i==1) $str=$str.$text; else $str=$str.' or '.$text; } $str=$str.')'; $query2=$str; echo "$str"; // echo "$query2"; $que=mysql_query($query2,$con) or die(mysql_error()); $num=mysql_num_rows($que); if($num!=0) { while($result=mysql_fetch_array($que)) { echo "$result[p_id] is already registered in team $result[t_id]"; } //include("reg_team.html"); } else if($num==0) { //echo $query; $query2="select max(t_id) from $query"; $que=mysql_query($query2,$con) or die(mysql_error()); //echo "$que"; $result=mysql_fetch_array($que); $max=$result['max(t_id)']; $max++; $num=$_SESSION['max_team']; for($i=1;$i<=$num;$i++) { $name='mem'.$i; if($_POST[$name]!="") { $query2="insert into $query values($max,'$_POST[$name]')"; $que=mysql_query($query2,$con); } } echo " please note your team id is $max "; echo " your team members are : "; for($i=1;$i<=$num;$i++) { $name='mem'.$i; echo "$_POST[$name]"; } } } ? i have done session_start(); at the beginning of the page itself. The problem is that echoing $_SESSION variables in second file is not printing anything. someone please explain me whats going on. thank you

    Are there any real resources for creating MySpace Profile Widget apps? I have looked through all the sample code the present and am unable to perform any simple tasks. • Enterprise Data Center System Admin/Engineer to Server Ratio

    - by Bob
    I know there have been similar questions asked over the last few months however looking at a Data Center Operations and know there are some really smart people out there that might be able to help. Looking for some staffing best practices based on first hand experience and was hoping that there is some experience in this area that can provide "best practice" application: Three High Availability (99.99% plus) Enterprise Level Data Centers geographically dislocated, one manned 24x7x365, one lights out, one co-location running HOT-HOT-HOT supporting a global community. More than 2,000 operating systems consisting of 95% Windows, 5% Linux and Solaris, 45% virtualized, more than 100TB storage. No desktop support, no Network Administration (administrated separately), running N+1 and serving more than 250 Billion page views annually. Based on experience what has been your experience with Server to "Data Center System Administrator/Engineer" ratio? Thanks in advance for your responses.

  • Why no final dot for domain names?

    - by user41150
    I recently learned that a fully qualified domain name ends in a dot, e.g. www.microsoft.com.. Why do I almost never see this? We casually toss around www.microsoft.com, a relative domain name, without a second thought. It's not mere pedantry, because it seems there's a security issue: someone in your network could create www.microsoft.com.example.com. to hijack your requests to www.microsoft.com. Why doesn't the internet community have a tradition of using genuinely fully qualified domain names?

  • Passing function-specific variables

    - by Simon Carlson
    Say I got two functions that looks like this: function main(Index) { doStuff(); } function doStuff() { if(Index == 1) { document.write("Hello world!") } } And some HTML: <input type="button" value="Click me" onclick="main(1)" /> I realize this is a very stupid way to use function-specific variables and such, but it's just out of curiosity. So is it possible to pass the variable Index from the main function to the doStuff function?

  • Php dynamic class construction

    - by pistacchio
    Hi to all, I'm trying to avoid the use of eval. I can dynamically instantiate a class like this: class myclass {} $my_class_name = 'myclass'; $obj = new $myclass(); If the constructor is like follows: class myclass { public function __construct( $argument1, $argument2 ) {} } and i have the values of the arguments in an array, how can i dynamically instantiate the class and pass it dynamic arguments? Mind that I have no way to modify the class, so I have to work on the way of using it. Thanks

  • How to get password html helper to render password on failed validation

    - by Max Schmeling
    I have a form for creating a new account and it has a password field in it. I'm using view models to pass data to the controller action and back to the form view. When the user enters their details in, and clicks submit, if validation fails and it returns them to the same view passing back in the view model, it won't default the password to what they entered. How can I get it to do this? Or should I even try?

  • Java slick command line app?

    - by Felix
    Hello Guys, I want to make a slick java commandline app which doesnt include all the nasty "java -jar some.jar arguments" instead, I would have it work just like program -option argument like any other commandline app. I use ubuntu linux, and it would be fine if it included a bit of .sh script or anything. I know I can just create a file with java -jar program.jar and do chmod +x file, afterwards I could run i with ./file, but then how can I pass the arguments to the program ?

  • Is there a simple PHP development server?

    - by pinchyfingers
    When writing web apps in Python, it brain dead easy to run a development server. Django and Google App Engine both ship with simple servers. The main feature I'm looking for is no configuration. I want something like the GAE dev server where you just pass the directory of the app as a parameter when the server is started. Is there a reason that this is more difficult with PHP?

  • Cheap and cheerful rand() replacement.

    - by Mick
    After profiling a large game playing program, I have found that the library function rand() is consuming a considerable fraction of the total processing time. My requirements for the random number generator are not very onerous - its not important that it pass a great battery of statistical tests of pure randomness. I just want something cheap and cheerful that is very fast. Any suggestions?
