    Hellow, I have a database where you can select articles etc, users have an account, it's all in mysql and php (i guess you don't need that code). What i was wondering was how to write a script that allows users to pay online for the articles they selected? It doesn't need to be any code, just ideas / hints / tips / ...   • GLSL check if fragment is on geometry

    I am currently writing the positions of my geometry to the RGB channels of gl_FragColor and I would like to write 1.0 to the alpha channel if the fragment is part of geometry, and 0.0 if its empty. Is there a simple way to tell if a fragment is geometry or not? Maybe through gl_FragCoord.z? thanks

    I'm populating an XElement with information and writing it to an xml file using the XElement.Save(path) method. At some point, certain characters in the resulting file are being escaped - for example, > becomes &gt;. This behaviour is unacceptable, since I need to store information in the XML that includes the > character as part of a password. How can I write the 'raw' content of my XElement object to XML without having these escaped?

  • What are the reasons why the CPU usage doesn’t go 100% with C# and APM?

    I have an application which is CPU intensive. When the data is processed on a single thread, the CPU usage goes to 100% for many minutes. So the performance of the application appears to be bound by the CPU. I have multithreaded the logic of the application, which result in an increase of the overall performance. However, the CPU usage hardly goes above 30%-50%. I would expect the CPU (and the many cores) to go to 100% since I process many set of data at the same time. Below is a simplified example of the logic I use to start the threads. When I run this example, the CPU goes to 100% (on an 8/16 cores machine). However, my application which uses the same pattern doesn’t. public class DataExecutionContext { public int Counter { get; set; } // Arrays of data } static void Main(string[] args) { // Load data from the database into the context var contexts = new List<DataExecutionContext>(100); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { contexts.Add(new DataExecutionContext()); } // Data loaded. The best way I found was to create a context in which a thread can read/write in memory. Contexts are not shared among other threads. The threads can’t access the database, files or network. In other words, I profiled my application and I didn’t find any bottleneck. Why the CPU usage of my application doesn’t go about 50%? Is it the pattern I use? Should I create my own thread instead of using the .Net thread pool? Is there any gotchas? Is there any tool that you could recommend me to find my issue? Thanks!

    I'm trying to write a custom servlet (for AJAX/JSON) in which I would like to reference my @ManagedBeans by name. I'm hoping to map: http://host/app/myBean/myProperty to: @ManagedBean(name="myBean") public class MyBean { public String getMyProperty(); } Is it possible to load a bean by name from a regular servlet? Is there a JSF servlet or helper I could use for it? I seem to be spoilt by Spring in which all this is too obvious.

    Hi All, I have a dll made in cpp which tries to read/write some Registry Keys. This code runs perfectly fine in Windows XP (32 bit environment) but it fails in Windows 7(64 bit environment). The registry keys which this application accesses is the shared registry keys. These keys are not part of 32 bit registry cache(wow32 bit) or 64 bit registry cache. A solution that uses bcp and xp_cmdshell, that is not my desired solution, has been posted here: stackoverflow.com/questions/828749/ms-sql-server-2005-write-varbinary-to-file-system (sorry i cannot post a second hyperlink since my reputation is les than 10). I am new to c# (since I am a Delphi developer) anyway I was able to create a simple CLR stored procedures by following a tutorial. My task is to move a file from the client file system to the server file system (the server can be accessed using remote IP, so I cannot use a shared folder as destination, this is why I need a CLR stored procedure). So I plan to: 1) store from Delphi the file in a varbinary(max) column of a temporary table 2) call the CLR stored procedure to create a file at the desired path using the data contained in the varbinary(max) field Imagine I need to move C:\MyFile.pdf to Z:\MyFile.pdf, where C: is a harddrive on local system and Z: is an harddrive on the server. I provide the code below (not working) that someone can modify to make it work? Here I suppose to have a table called MyTable with two fields: ID (int) and DATA (varbinary(max)). Please note it doesn't make a difference if the table is a real temporary table or just a table where I temporarly store the data. I would appreciate if some exception handling code is there (so that I can manage an "impossible to save file" exception). I would like to be able to write a new file or overwrite the file if already existing. I found KeyboardFocusManager.getGlobalActiveWindow() but I can't get it to work right. A cross platform solution is preferable, but if one doesn't exist, then I'm developing for linux with X.Org.     Hi i've tried the following to find the referrer in MSIE / IE7 and IE8 but its returning blank each time; PHP: <? echo $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; ?> JAVASCRIPT: document.write('Thanks for visiting from ' + document.referrer); Does any know what the issue could be I'm referering using document.location from a page on another domain and work fine with all other browsers minus MSIE.   • Using GraphicsServices.h/GSEvent as well as compiling CLI iPhone tools with XCode

    I sent this to KennyTM (has all the private framework headers on GitHub) but I figured I'd ask here too just in case someone has some good ideas or any way to help me out. I'm trying to write a command line utility that sends GSEvents to operate the keyboard, touch/drag elements onscreen, and operate hardware buttons (volume, home, sleep, etc.) I grabbed the MouseSupport code and tried to look through it, but I couldn't find the easiest way to send GSEvents. I'm hoping someone here can help me. First, what's the simplest way to declare a GSEvent and send it? I looked at the iPhone development wiki, but the documentation was very vague. I understand that there's a purple event port (?) that I have to send these events to, but I don't understand how to do that. Could someone offer examples for, say, touching at a coordinate, typing a certain key, or pressing a hardware button? Also, do I have to write or do anything special if I want this utility to operate all applications as well as Springboard? I don't know if this is a special case because I want it at the OS level. Ideally, I would SSH into the phone, start the program, and it would send GSEvents that would be handled by whatever application was open. As far as compiling this code, is there any way to do so under XCode? I don't know what sort of project template I should use (if any) and this is throwing me off. I don't need "build and go" support, I'm more than happy to scp the program over to the phone. I understand that compiling the code is also feasible on the phone. I have all of the headers from the SDK on my phone along with iphone-gcc, but when compiling some test programs I still get errors about not finding mach headers and CoreFoundation. Is there an easier way to do this? Lastly, are there other guides or pieces of literature that anyone can point me towards for learning more about this? I'm excited to get into open iPhone development (I have experience with the official SDK, but I want to go deeper). Thanks for any and all help people can offer!

I change all my types to AsyncBinaryWriter and I use .Write, but no data is written to the stream. Is that the proper way for using it ?

I can't find any details or examples anywhere on the web which tell me whether I should be able to use ADWS in a .Net application to read/write AD information.   • $(document).ready() and partial view load

    I am developing an application using Asp.net mvc and jquery. I'd like to use the same naming convention (classes and ids) for html elements in different views. In case when I want to load a partial view asynchronously, the $(document).ready() piece of code in the main view loses its usefulness because none of the patial view's html tags and css naming is recognized by jquery. I certainly do not want to write the same code for every view. What's th ebest way to solve this issue?
