  • Visual Studio Macros on 64 bit fail with COM error

    - by bruce.kinchin
    I'm doing some javascript development and found a cool macro to region my code ("Using #region Directive With JavaScript Files in Visual Studio"). I used this on my 32 bit box, and it worked first time. (Visual Studio 2008 SP1, Win7) For easy of reference the macro is: Option Strict Off Option Explicit Off Imports System Imports EnvDTE Imports EnvDTE80 Imports System.Diagnostics Imports System.Collections Public Module JsMacros Sub OutlineRegions() Dim selection As EnvDTE.TextSelection = DTE.ActiveDocument.Selection Const REGION_START As String = "//#region" Const REGION_END As String = "//#endregion" DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.StopOutlining") selection.SelectAll() Dim text As String = selection.Text selection.StartOfDocument(True) Dim startIndex As Integer Dim endIndex As Integer Dim lastIndex As Integer = 0 Dim startRegions As Stack = New Stack() Do startIndex = text.IndexOf(REGION_START, lastIndex) endIndex = text.IndexOf(REGION_END, lastIndex) If startIndex = -1 AndAlso endIndex = -1 Then Exit Do End If If startIndex <> -1 AndAlso startIndex < endIndex Then startRegions.Push(startIndex) lastIndex = startIndex + 1 Else ' Outline region ... selection.MoveToLineAndOffset(CalcLineNumber(text, CInt(startRegions.Pop())), text.Length) selection.MoveToLineAndOffset(CalcLineNumber(text, endIndex) + 1, 1, True) selection.OutlineSection() lastIndex = endIndex + 1 End If Loop selection.StartOfDocument() End Sub Private Function CalcLineNumber(ByVal text As String, ByVal index As Integer) Dim lineNumber As Integer = 1 Dim i As Integer = 0 While i < index If text.Chars(i) = vbCr Then lineNumber += 1 i += 1 End If i += 1 End While Return lineNumber End Function End Module I then tried to use the same macro on two separate 64 bit machines (Win7 x64), identical other than the 64 bit OS version and it fails to work. Stepping through it with the Visual Studio Macros IDE, it fails the first time on the DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.StopOutlining") line with a COM error (Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component). If I attempt to run it a second time, I can run it from the Macro Editor with no issue, but not from within Visual Studio with the macro explorer 'run macro' command. I have reviewed the following articles without finding anything helpful: Stackoverflow: Visual Studio 2008 macro only works from the Macro IDE, not the Macro Explorer Recorded macro does not run; Failing on DTE.ExecuteCommand Am I missing something dumb?

  • Binding a member signal to a function

    - by the_drow
    This line of code compiles correctly without a problem: boost::bind(boost::ref(connected_), boost::dynamic_pointer_cast<session<version> >(shared_from_this()), boost::asio::placeholders::error); However when assigning it to a boost::function or as a callback like this: socket_->async_connect(connection_->remote_endpoint(), boost::bind(boost::ref(connected_), boost::dynamic_pointer_cast<session<version> >(shared_from_this()), boost::asio::placeholders::error)); I'm getting a whole bunch of incomprehensible errors (linked since it's too long to fit here). On the other hand I have succeeded binding a free signal to a boost::function like this: void print(const boost::system::error_code& error) { cout << "session connected"; } int main() { boost::signal<void(const boost::system::error_code &)> connected_; connected_.connect(boost::bind(&print, boost::asio::placeholders::error)); client<>::connection_t::socket_ptr socket_(new client<>::connection_t::socket_t(conn->service())); // shared_ptr of a tcp socket socket_->async_connect(conn->remote_endpoint(), boost::bind(boost::ref(connected_), boost::asio::placeholders::error)); conn->service().run(); // io_service.run() return 0; } This works and prints session connected correctly. What am I doing wrong here?

  • How to fix RapidXML String ownership concerns?

    - by Roddy
    RapidXML is a fast, lightweight C++ XML DOM Parser, but it has some quirks. The worst of these to my mind is this: 3.2 Ownership Of Strings. Nodes and attributes produced by RapidXml do not own their name and value strings. They merely hold the pointers to them. This means you have to be careful when setting these values manually, by using xml_base::name(const Ch *) or xml_base::value(const Ch *) functions. Care must be taken to ensure that lifetime of the string passed is at least as long as lifetime of the node/attribute. The easiest way to achieve it is to allocate the string from memory_pool owned by the document. Use memory_pool::allocate_string() function for this purpose. Now, I understand it's done this way for speed, but this feels like an car crash waiting to happen. The following code looks innocuous but 'name' and 'value' are out of scope when foo returns, so the doc is undefined. void foo() { char name[]="Name"; char value[]="Value"; doc.append_node(doc.allocate_node(node_element, name, value)); } The suggestion of using allocate_string() as per manual works, but it's so easy to forget. Has anyone 'enhanced' RapidXML to avoid this issue?

  • GTK implementation of MessageBox

    - by Bernard
    I have been trying to implement Win32's MessageBox using GTK. The app using SDL/OpenGL, so this isn't a GTK app. I handle the initialisation (gtk_init) sort of stuff inside the MessageBox function as follows: int MessageBox(HWND hwnd, const char* text, const char* caption, UINT type){ GtkWidget *window = NULL; GtkWidget *dialog = NULL; gtk_init(&gtkArgc, &gtkArgv); window = gtk_window_new(GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL); g_signal_connect(G_OBJECT(window), "delete_event", G_CALLBACK(delete_event), NULL); g_signal_connect(G_OBJECT(window), "destroy", G_CALLBACK(destroy), NULL); // gcallback calls gtk_main_quit() gtk_init_add((GtkFunction)gcallback, NULL); if (type & MB_YESNO) { dialog = gtk_message_dialog_new(GTK_WINDOW(window), GTK_DIALOG_DESTROY_WITH_PARENT, GTK_MESSAGE_QUESTION, GTK_BUTTONS_YES_NO, text); } else { dialog = gtk_message_dialog_new(GTK_WINDOW(window), GTK_DIALOG_DESTROY_WITH_PARENT, GTK_MESSAGE_INFO, GTK_BUTTONS_OK, text); } gtk_window_set_title(GTK_WINDOW(dialog), caption); gint result = gtk_dialog_run(GTK_DIALOG(dialog)); gtk_main(); gtk_widget_destroy(dialog); if (type & MB_YESNO) { switch (result) { default: case GTK_RESPONSE_DELETE_EVENT: case GTK_RESPONSE_NO: return IDNO; break; case GTK_RESPONSE_YES: return IDYES; break; } } return IDOK;} Now, I am by no means an experienced GTK programmer, and I realise that I'm probably doing something(s) horribly wrong. However, my problem is that the last dialog popped up with this function stays around until the process exits. Any ideas?

  • multiple compiling errors with basic C++ application on VS2010 Beta 1

    - by ratata
    I just recently installed VS2010 Beta 1 from the Microsoft website , I started a basic C++ Win32 Console Application , that generated the following code: #include "stdafx.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { return 0; } I tried compiling the code just to see how it runs and just then I encountered several(over a 100) compiling errors. Here is the first part of the build output: 1>ClCompile: 1> stdafx.cpp 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): error C2065: '_In_opt_z_' : undeclared identifier 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): error C2143: syntax error : missing ')' before 'const' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): warning C4229: anachronism used : modifiers on data are ignored 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): error C2182: '_invalid_parameter' : illegal use of type 'void' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): error C2491: '_invalid_parameter' : definition of dllimport data not allowed 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(520): error C2059: syntax error : ')' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(527): error C2065: '_In_opt_z_' : undeclared identifier 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(527): error C2143: syntax error : missing ')' before 'const' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\crtdefs.h(527): warning C4229: anachronism used : modifiers on data are ignored pastebin for the full list I thought maybe the include files got mixed up by some other compiler version I have installed previously( I have VS 2008 as well) so I reinstalled VS2010 just to overwrite the headers but that didn't do much. Thanks in advance for any help you might offer as I am helpless

  • Access Violation When Writing Dynamic 2D Array... Sometimes

    - by Shraptnel
    This program is meant to generate a dynamic array, however it gives an access violation error when writing when given certain dimensions. Eg: R = 6, C = 5 crashes, but then R = 5, C = 6 doesn't. In case your wondering, it isn't my homework to "fix" this broken program, this is the method we were taught in class. Also part of my assessment is to use this method, so vectors are out. Thanks in advance! #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main(){ const int R = 6; const int C = 5; char **d; d = new char *[R]; for(int i=0; i<C; ++i){ d[i] = new char[C]; } //initialise for(int i=0; i<R; ++i){ for(int j=0; j<C; ++j){ d[i][j] = 'd'; cout<<d[i][j]; } cout<<endl; } cout<<endl; system("pause"); return 0; }

  • How do I get the User Entered Value in AjaxControlToolkit ComboBox when the enter key is pressed?

    - by Jason
    The Problem: The user entered value is missing in the .Text attribute of the AjaxControlToolkit ComboBox when the enter key pressed. Also the “on change” events events are not called but I am not using postbacks anyway so I do not care. Example: private void BuildFileListDetails(NHibernateDataProvider _providerM) { int resultsPage = Convert.ToInt32(ddlNavPageNumber.Text); const int RESULTS_PAGE_SIZE = 100; // The cbFileName.Text equals "" Not what user entered string searchFileName= cbFileName.Text; var xrfFiles = _providerM.GetXrfFiles(searchFileName, resultsPage, RESULTS_PAGE_SIZE); gvXrfFileList.DataSource = xrfFiles; gvXrfFileList.DataBind(); } My Solution: I needed to access the AjaxToolkit "ComboBox" imbedded TextBox control's .Text to access the value entered by user. private void BuildFileListDetails(NHibernateDataProvider _providerM) { int resultsPage = Convert.ToInt32(ddlNavPageNumber.Text); const int RESULTS_PAGE_SIZE = 100; string searchFileName; //The Solution: Access the AjaxToolkit "ComboBox" imbedded TextBox control's .Text to access the value entered by user. TextBox textBox = cbFileName.FindControl("TextBox") as TextBox; if (textBox != null) { searchFileName = textBox.Text; //textBox.Text = "User Entered Value" } else { searchFileName = cbFileName.Text; } var xrfFiles = _providerM.GetXrfFiles(searchFileName, resultsPage, RESULTS_PAGE_SIZE); gvXrfFileList.DataSource = xrfFiles; gvXrfFileList.DataBind(); }

  • maps, iterators, and complex structs - STL errors

    - by Austin Hyde
    So, I have two structs: struct coordinate { float x; float y; } struct person { int id; coordinate location; } and a function operating on coordinates: float distance(const coordinate& c1, const coordinate& c2); In my main method, I have the following code: map<int,person> people; // populate people map<int,map<float,int> > distance_map; map<int,person>::iterator it1,it2; for (it1=people.begin(); it1!=people.end(); ++it1) { for (it2=people.begin(); it2!=people.end(); ++it2) { float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); distance_map[it1->first][d] = it2->first; } } However, I get the following error upon build: stl_iterator_base_types.h: In instantiation of ‘std::iterator_traits<coordinate>’: stl_iterator_base_types.h:129: error: no type named ‘iterator_category’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:130: error: no type named ‘value_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:131: error: no type named ‘difference_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:132: error: no type named ‘pointer’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:133: error: no type named ‘reference’ in ‘struct coordinate’ And it blames it on the line: float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); Why does the STL complain about my code?

  • Loading a RSA private key from memory using libxmlsec

    - by ereOn
    Hello, I'm currently using libxmlsec into my C++ software and I try to load a RSA private key from memory. To do this, I searched trough the API and found this function. It takes binary data, a size, a format string and several PEM-callback related parameters. When I call the function, it just stucks, uses 100% of the CPU time and never returns. Quite annoying, because I have no way of finding out what is wrong. Here is my code: d_xmlsec_dsig_context->signKey = xmlSecCryptoAppKeyLoadMemory( reinterpret_cast<const xmlSecByte*>(data), static_cast<xmlSecSize>(datalen), xmlSecKeyDataFormatBinary, NULL, NULL, NULL ); data is a const char* pointing to the raw bytes of my RSA key (using i2d_RSAPrivateKey(), from OpenSSL) and datalen the size of data. My test private key doesn't have a passphrase so I decided not to use the callbacks for the time being. Has someone already done something similar ? Do you guys see anything that I could change/test to get forward on this problem ? I just discovered the library on yesterday, so I might miss something obvious here; I just can't see it. Thank you very much for your help.

  • how to find the height of html content

    - by ganapati hegde
    Hi, I am trying to display 10 html pages as a single document,with 10 chapters. I am using Webkitgtk+ engine to render the HTML pages. I am getting the content of each html files and concatenating all of them to create a single 'char *content' and using webkit_web_view_load_html_string(WebKitWebView *web_view, const gchar *content, const gchar *base_uri); this function to load all the HTML files, as a document. Now i am trying to build a 'table of contents(toc)' for this document, which displays all the chapter names in order. My requirement is, when i click on a particular chapter in toc, the document should scroll to that point. For that i need to know height of each chapter ( height of each html file content). The point to be noted here is, the width of the document can changed and as HTML is reflowable, as width increases height decreases and vice-versa. So each time when height changes i need to find out the current height of each HTML page(or chapter) and hence calculate the distance to be scrolled. How can i find out the height of content of HTML page dynamically ? Thank you for the answer....

  • Ways std::stringstream can set fail/bad bit?

    - by Evan Teran
    A common piece of code I use for simple string splitting looks like this: inline std::vector<std::string> split(const std::string &s, char delim) { std::vector<std::string> elems; std::stringstream ss(s); std::string item; while(std::getline(ss, item, delim)) { elems.push_back(item); } return elems; } Someone mentioned that this will silently "swallow" errors occurring in std::getline. And of course I agree that's the case. But it occurred to me, what could possibly go wrong here in practice that I would need to worry about. basically it all boils down to this: inline std::vector<std::string> split(const std::string &s, char delim) { std::vector<std::string> elems; std::stringstream ss(s); std::string item; while(std::getline(ss, item, delim)) { elems.push_back(item); } if(ss.fail()) { // *** How did we get here!? *** } return elems; } A stringstream is backed by a string, so we don't have to worry about any of the issues associated with reading from a file. There is no type conversion going on here since getline simply reads until it sees a newline or EOF. So we can't get any of the errors that something like boost::lexical_cast has to worry about. I simply can't think of something besides failing to allocate enough memory that could go wrong, but that'll just throw a std::bad_alloc well before the std::getline even takes place. What am I missing?

  • Opengl Triangle instead of square

  • is delete p where p is a pointer to array a memory leak ?

    - by Eli
    following a discussion in a software meeting I setup to find out if deleting an dynamically allocated primitive array with plain delete will cause a memory leak. I have written this tiny program and compiled with visual studio 2008 running on windows XP: #include "stdafx.h" #include "Windows.h" const unsigned long BLOCK_SIZE = 1024*100000; int _tmain() { for (unsigned int i =0; i < 1024*1000; i++) { int* p = new int[1024*100000]; for (int j =0;j<BLOCK_SIZE;j++) p[j]= j % 2; Sleep(1000); delete p; } } I than monitored the memory consumption of my application using task manager, surprisingly the memory was allocated and freed correctly, allocated memory did not steadily increase as was expected I've modified my test program to allocate a non primitive type array : #include "stdafx.h" #include "Windows.h" struct aStruct { aStruct() : i(1), j(0) {} int i; char j; } NonePrimitive; const unsigned long BLOCK_SIZE = 1024*100000; int _tmain() { for (unsigned int i =0; i < 1024*100000; i++) { aStruct* p = new aStruct[1024*100000]; Sleep(1000); delete p; } } after running for for 10 minutes there was no meaningful increase in memory I compiled the project with warning level 4 and got no warnings. is it possible that the visual studio run time keep track of the allocated objects types so there is no different between delete and delete[] in that environment ?

  • Get "term is undefined” error when trying to assign arrayList to List component dataSource

    - by user1814467
    I'm creating an online game where people log in and then have the list of current players displayed. When the user enters a "room" it dispatches an SFSEvent which includes a Room object with the list of users as User objects in that room. As that event's callback function, I get the list of current users which is an Array, switch the View Stack child index, and then I wrap the user list array in an ArrayList before I assign it to the MXML Spark List component's dataSource. Here's my code: My Actionscript Code Section (PreGame.as): private function onRoomJoin(event:SFSEvent):void { const room:Room = this._sfs.getRoomByName(PREGAME_ROOM); this.selectedChild = waitingRoom; /** I know I should be using event listeners * but this is a temporary fix, otherwise * I keep getting null object errors * do to the li_users list not being * created in time for the dataProvider assignment **/ setTimeout(function ():void { const userList:ArrayList = new ArrayList(room.userList); this.li_users.dataProvider = userList; // This is where the error gets thrown },1000); } My MXML Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:ViewStack xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" initialize="preGame_initializeHandler(event)" > <fx:Script source="PreGame.as"/> <s:NavigatorContent id="nc_loginScreen"> /** Login Screen Code **/ </s:NavigatorContent> /** Start of Waiting Room code **/ <s:NavigatorContent id="waitingRoom"> <s:Panel id="pn_users" width="400" height="400" title="Users"> /** This is the List in question **/ <s:List id="li_users" width="100%" height="100%"/> </s:Panel> </s:NavigatorContent> </mx:ViewStack> However, I keep getting this error: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The arrayList has data, so I know it's not empty/null.

  • how to implement intel's tbb::blocked_range2d in C++

    - by Hristo
    I'm trying to parallelize nested for loops with parellel_for() and the blocked_range2d from Intel's TBB using C++. The for loops look like this: for(int i = 0; i < N; ++i) { for(int j = 0; j < E[i]; ++j) { for(int k = 0; k < T; ++k) { score[k] += delta(i, trRating[k][i], exRating[j][i]); } } } ... and I am trying to do the following: class LoopBody { private: int *myscore; public: LoopBody(int *score) { myscore = score; } void operator()(const blocked_range2d<int> &r) const { for(int i = r.rows().begin(); i != r.rows().end(); ++i); for(int j = 0; j < E[i]; ++j) { for(int k = r.cols().begin(); k != r.cols().end(); ++k) { myscore[k] += foo(...); // uses i,j,k to look up indices in arrays } } } } }; void computeScores(int score[]) { parallel_for(blocked_range2d<int>(0, N, 0, T), LoopBody(score)); } ... but I am getting the following compile errors: error: identifier "i" is undefined for(int j = 0; j < E[i]; ++j) { ^ error: expected an identifier }; ^ I'm not really sure if I am doing this the right way, but any advice is appreciated. Also, this is my first time using Intel's TBB so I really don't know anything about it. Any ideas how make this work? Thanks, Hristo

  • Flex - Flash Builder Design View not showing embedded fonts correctly

    - by Crusader
    Tools: Air 2, Flex SDK 4.1, Flash Builder, Halo component set (NO Spark being used at all) Fonts work perfectly when running the appliction, but not in design view. This effectively makes design view WORTHLESS because it's impossible to properly position components or labels without knowing what the true size is (it changes depending on font...) ... CSS included in root component like so: <fx:Style source="style.css"/> CSS file: /* CSS file */ @namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"; global { font-family:Segoe; font-size:14; color:#FFFFFF; } mx|Application, mx|VBox, mx|HBox, mx|Canvas { font-family:Segoe; background-color:#660000; border-color:#222277; color:#FFFFFF; } mx|Button { font-family:Segoe; fill-colors:#660000, #660000, #660000, #660000; color:#FFFFFF; } .... Interestingly (or buggily?), when I try pasting the style tag into a subcomponent (lower than the top level container), I get a bunch of warnings in the subcomponent editor view stating that CSS type selectors are not supported in.. (all the components in the style sheet). Yet, they do work when the application is executed. Huh? This is how I'm embedding the fonts in the root level container: [Embed(source="/assets/segoepr.ttf", fontName="Segoe", mimeType="application/x-font-truetype", embedAsCFF='false')] public static const font:Class; [Embed(source="/assets/segoeprb.ttf", fontName="Segoe", mimeType="application/x-font-truetype", fontWeight="bold", embedAsCFF='false')] public static const font2:Class; So, is there a way to get embedded fonts to work in design view or what?

  • ASP.NET MVC Facebook

    - by durilai
    I am trying to do a seemingly simple thing, but having trouble accomplishing it. I am trying to automate the posting on my Facebook wall. Basically I have a ASP.NET MVC website that I post updates on, and I want to automatically submit the post to my wall. I see a lot of stuff on FB Connect and getting data, I just want to post. Thanks for any help or guidance. UPDATE: Just trying to resurrect, and be a little more clear in my description as I am not getting anywhere. I have a page that I want with a text box and a button. When I submit the form I want the message to post to my Facebook wall. I thought it was Facebook Connect, but I am getting no where as to how to automatically authenticate myself and post to my wall. I would like to use C# rather than JavaScript. private const string ApplicationKey = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"; private const string SecretKey = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"; private Facebook.Rest.Api _facebookAPI; private Facebook.Session.ConnectSession _connectSession; [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Index(FormCollection form) { _connectSession = new Facebook.Session.ConnectSession(ApplicationKey, SecretKey); if (_connectSession.IsConnected()) { _facebookAPI = new Facebook.Rest.Api(_connectSession); string response = _facebookAPI.Stream.Publish("This is a generated test"); } return View(); } } The IsConnected() is returning false. Any help is appreciated.

  • How to serialize object containing NSData?

    - by AO
    I'm trying to serialize an object containing a number of data fields...where one of the fields is of datatype NSData which won't serialize. I've followed instructions at http://www.isolated.se but my code (see below) results in the error "[NSConcreteData data]: unrecognized selector sent to instance...". How do I serialize my object? Header file: @interface Donkey : NSObject<NSCoding> { NSString* s; NSData* d; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString* s; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSData* d; - (NSData*) serialize; @end Implementation file: @implementation Donkey @synthesize s, d; static NSString* const KEY_S = @"string"; static NSString* const KEY_D = @"data"; - (void) encodeWithCoder:(NSCoder*)coder { [coder encodeObject:self.s forKey:KEY_S]; [coder encodeObject:self.d forKey:KEY_D]; } - (id) initWithCoder:(NSCoder*)coder; { if(self = [super init]) { self.s = [coder decodeObjectForKey:KEY_STRING]; self.d [coder decodeObjectForKey:KEY_DATA]; } return self; } - (NSData*) serialize { return [NSKeyedArchiver archivedDataWithRootObject:self]; } @end

  • How upload files to azure in background with Delphi and OmniThread?

    - by mamcx
    I have tried to upload +100 files to azure with Delphi. However, the calls block the main thread, so I want to do this with a async call or with a background thread. This is what I do now (like explained here): procedure TCloudManager.UploadTask(const input: TOmniValue; var output: TOmniValue); var FileTask:TFileTask; begin FileTask := input.AsRecord<TFileTask>; Upload(FileTask.BaseFolder, FileTask.LocalFile, FileTask.CloudFile); end; function TCloudManager.MassiveUpload(const BaseFolder: String; Files: TDictionary<String, String>): TStringList; var pipeline: IOmniPipeline; FileInfo : TPair<String,String>; FileTask:TFileTask; begin // set up pipeline pipeline := Parallel.Pipeline .Stage(UploadTask) .NumTasks(Environment.Process.Affinity.Count * 2) .Run; // insert URLs to be retrieved for FileInfo in Files do begin FileTask.LocalFile := FileInfo.Key; FileTask.CloudFile := FileInfo.Value; FileTask.BaseFolder := BaseFolder; pipeline.Input.Add(TOmniValue.FromRecord(FileTask)); end;//for pipeline.Input.CompleteAdding; // wait for pipeline to complete pipeline.WaitFor(INFINITE); end; However this block too (why? I don't understand).

  • Good hash function for a 2d index

    - by rlbond
    I have a struct called Point. Point is pretty simple: struct Point { Row row; Column column; // some other code for addition and subtraction of points is there too } Row and Column are basically glorified ints, but I got sick of accidentally transposing the input arguments to functions and gave them each a wrapper class. Right now I use a set of points, but repeated lookups are really slowing things down. I want to switch to an unordered_set. So, I want to have an unordered_set of Points. Typically this set might contain, for example, every point on a 80x24 terminal = 1920 points. I need a good hash function. I just came up with the following: struct PointHash : public std::unary_function<Point, std::size_t> { result_type operator()(const argument_type& val) const { return val.row.value() * 1000 + val.col.value(); } }; However, I'm not sure that this is really a good hash function. I wanted something fast, since I need to do many lookups very quickly. Is there a better hash function I can use, or is this OK?

  • Singleton with inheritance, Derived class is not able to get instantiated in parent?

    - by yesraaj
    Below code instantiates a derived singleton object based on environment variable. The compiler errors saying error C2512: 'Dotted' : no appropriate default constructor. I don't understand what the compiler is complaining about. #include <stdlib.h> #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; class Dotted; class Singleton{ public: static Singleton instant(){ if (!instance_) { char * style = getenv("STYLE"); if (!style){ if (strcmp(style,"dotted")==0) { instance_ = new Dotted(); return *instance_; } } else{ instance_ = new Singleton(); return *instance_; } } return *instance_; } void print(){cout<<"Singleton";} ~Singleton(){}; protected: Singleton(){}; private: static Singleton * instance_; Singleton(const Singleton & ); void operator=(const Singleton & ); }; class Dotted:public Singleton{ public: void print(){cout<<"Dotted";} protected: Dotted(); }; Dotted::Dotted():Singleton(){} int main(){ Singleton::instant().print(); cin.get(); }
