    I have created a table in ms access. I have set the data type of ID to Auto Number in MS-access. In java when I try to update a record. the netBeans IDE gives me the error of " data type missmatch in criteria expression". But when I changed the ID number that was not in the table already it works well. The code is below. Now my question is the following: what makes this class being the first class to get called when VS starts? In other words, why this class gets active and it runs as of some code instantiate an object of this class type?     OK, i am making a Coloring app and it has a "Save" button that will take the screen shot of the view where the drawing is. I have 6 images to color. In the intro page there 6 buttons, each will link you to a particular coloring page. All are working well including the "Save" button except for one.   • Problem intialising 2D array

    Ok, so I have a 2D Array that is initialised with values from a file (format: x y z). My file reads in the values correctly but when adding the z value to the matrix/2DArray, I run into a segfault and I have no idea why. It is possibly incorrect use of pointers? I still don't quite have the hang of them yet. The map file has a max "x" value of 47 and a max "y" value of 63, I'm pretty sure I haven't got the order mixed up, so I don't know why the program is segfault-ing? I'm sure it's some newbie mistake...

FXCop warns me "Do Not Cast Unnecessarily" for this code - but I'm unsure how to rewrite it to make it better. Any ideas?

    Maybe the question sounds silly, but I don't understand 'something about threads and locking and I would like to get a confirmation (here's why I ask). So, if I have 10 servers and 10 request in the same time come to each server, that's 100 request across the farm. Without locking, thats 100 request to the database.     I was wondering if someone here could help me, I can't find a solution for my problem and I have tried everything. What I am trying to do is read and parse lines in a csv file into java objects and I have succeeded in doing that but after it reads all the lines it should insert the lines into the database but it only inserts the 1st line the entire time and I don't no why. When I do a print it shows that it is reading all the lines and placing them in the objects but as soon as I do the insert it wants to insert only the 1st line.     Given a classic DB structure of Orders has zero or more OrderLines and OrderLine has exactly one Product, how do I write a linq query to express this? The output would be OrderNumber - OrderLine - Product Name Order-1 null null // (this order has no lines) Order-2 1 Red widget I tried this query but is not getting the orders with no lines var model = (from po in Orders from line in po.OrderLines select new { OrderNumber = po.Id, OrderLine = line.LineNumber, ProductName = line.Product.ProductDescription, } ) I think that the 2nd from is limiting the query to only those that have OrderLines, but I dont know another way to express it. LINQ is very non-obvious if you ask me!

  • overwriting arguments in t-sql functions

    I was playing around with some code and realized that it is possible to overwrite the argument to a t-sql function. i.e., create function someFn(@date date) as begin if @date is null set @date = getdate() will set @date to be today's date if the argument was null. This appears only to make any sense if t-sql is treating their arguments as references not values. I realized that I don't actually know what the t-sql rules are for cases like this and was hoping someone could elaborate what is going on here. (I don't ever recall seeing any value vs. reference discussion with respect to t-sql code for that matter actually..)

  • WebBrowser.Navigate overload doesn't add cookies

    Hi guys, I'm experimenting with C#, and right now I'm trying to get a web page that needs cookies. Since I had no success doing it, I wrote this little PHP script ( directly from php.net): <?php foreach (getallheaders() as $name => $value) { echo "$name: $value\n"; } ?> but, when i run: this.WBro.Navigate("http://localhost/cookie.php", null,null,"Cookie: foo=bar"); the foo cookie isn't there, and all I got is a page displaying the "usual" headers ( except the cookie one). Does somebody has any idea of why this happens? Thanks a lot!

  • Is it possible to have a variadic function in C with no non-variadic parameter?

    I have the following function: void doStuff(int unusedParameter, ...) { va_list params; va_start(params, unusedParameter); /* ... */ va_end(params); } As part of a refactor, I'd like to remove the unused parameter without otherwise changing the implementation of the function. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to use va_start when you don't have a last non-variadic parameter to refer to. Is there any way around this? Background: It is in fact a C++ program, so I could use some operator-overloading magic as suggested here, but I was hoping not to have to change the interface at this point. The existing function does its work by requiring that the variable argument list be null-terminated, and scanning for the NULL, therefore it doesn't need a leading argument to tell it how many arguments it has.
