• Datagrid row height doesnot shrink back

  Hi, I have a data grid, in each row I have one cell which needs to have a very lengthy text which is about 1000 characters long. So I decided to put the text in the expander control keeping the cell width fixed, when the user wants to read the text, he clicks on the expander to open and reads it. The row height automatically grows when the expander is expanded but when the expander is collapsed back, the row height doesnt shirk. Can anyone pls tell me how to set the row height back after the expander is collapsed? i tried the follwing link. http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/p/133177/299186.aspx#299186 but this did not work any help would be grealty appreciated, thanks

• Using adaptive step sizes with scipy.integrate.ode

  The (brief) documentation for scipy.integrate.ode says that two methods (dopri5 and dop853) have stepsize control and dense output. Looking at the examples and the code itself, I can only see a very simple way to get output from an integrator. Namely, it looks like you just step the integrator forward by some fixed dt, get the function value(s) at that time, and repeat. My problem has pretty variable timescales, so I'd like to just get the values at whatever time steps it needs to evaluate to achieve the required tolerances. That is, early on, things are changing slowly, so the output time steps can be big. But as things get interesting, the output time steps have to be smaller. I don't actually want dense output at equal intervals, I just want the time steps the adaptive function uses.

• IE div width + scrollbar

  I have a modal UI in my web app that necessitates a fixed layout design. After much fussing, I decided absolutely positioned child elements was the way to go. However, I have one div that conditionally requires a vertical scrollbar (if there's too much content). When this scrollbar is added, the width of the div seems to vary between IE 7 and IE 8. IE8 standards mode: IE7 standards mode: I haven't even tested for IE 6, but I'm sure it's even funkier. What's the simplest, least painful way to address this to arrive at a consistent UI in all major browsers?

• GCC fatal error: stdio.h: No such file or directory

  I'm trying to compile a program in C on OS X 10.9 with GCC 4.9 (experimental). For some reason, I'm getting the following error at compile time: gcc: fatal error: stdio.h: No such file or directory I then tried a simple Hello World program: #include <stdio.h> int main(int *argc, const char *argv[]) { printf("Hello, world!"); return 0; } Again, upon running gcc -o ~/hello ~/hello.c, I got the same error. I'm using an experimental version of gcc, but it seems implausible that there would be a release which generated errors upon importing stdio. What could be causing this issue, and how can it be fixed?

  Is there a way to show subnode if the parent node is hidden in the Virtual String Tree ? I have some tasks in the tree structure and I wish to display only tasks which belongs to the current user as the list, but from all levels. What I've done is the function to display a list, which hides tree buttons, tree lines, sets the fixed indent and enable toShowHiddenNodes option. Then in this function I iterate through the whole tree (all levels) and hide nodes which doesn't belong to the current user IsVisible[Node] := False and show those which belongs him IsVisible[Node] := True, but the subnodes which should be displayed are invisible when their parent is hidden. • In which document do file specifications belong?

  In which document would a file specification belong? Perhaps this file is used as an input to a third-party system. Would it belong in its own document? Or would it be better to put it in the functional or design spec? Or somewhere else? When I say file specification, I mean a description of what format the file is (CSV, fixed width, etc), columns, data types, etc. Also, where should you document how the file is generated? i.e. business rules/algorithms which are used to generate the file.

• Assembly Resolver ignores PrivateBinPath

  I have an assembly I would like to load from a sub-folder of the appbase. I set that sub-folder in the PrivateBinPath during AppDomain creation. The issue is that I have another version of the same DLL in the appbase. From the way it looks, the resolver detects the wrong version first, says that there is a mismatch and stops. As a result the correct version (located in the sub-folder) never gets loaded. I have tested this by removing those DLLs in the appbase and it fixed the problem. Is there any way to force the search even if the wrong version is found?

• In Drupal, can you control block display according to e.g. number of URL parts?

  I'm having a little trouble controlling page-specific block display in Drupal... My URL's will be of this typical structure: http://www.mysite.co.uk/section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page The 'section-name' will effectively be fixed, but there will be many sub-pages (far too many to explicitly reference). I need to somehow control block display as follows: One block will show on all pages where URL contains 'section-name/sub-page' but not on pages 'section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page' Conversely, another block will show on all pages where URL contains 'section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page' but not on pages 'section-name/sub-page' My only idea is to do a bit of PHP that looks for the string 'section-name' and then also counts URL parts (or even the number of slashes). Not sure how to implement that though :) Your help would be appreciated!

• Make backup of large site with 100,000+ files/images

  I tried backing up our site today using the Unix 'cp' command and ended up getting our office blocked out by PLESK - it added my ip to /etc/hosts.deny as it thought I was flooding the server. After Tech support fixed the issue, they suggested I go folder by folder to back it up, but there's about 10,000 folders on the site totaling 1/2 a terabyte, each with multiple sub-folders, so this isn't viable. Basically I want to be able to mirror the domain on another domain we've got set up on the same dedicated server so I can test with live images (the bulk of our content). Any suggestions e.g adding some rules to open_base_dir and getting PHP to recursively copy the folders to the other domain (remember it's on the same dedicated box so it just needs to traverse the directory, not FTP things).

• Resize a DIV when its text changes

  I wanted to build a custom html button without using any solution like bootstrap etc. but from scratch. I decided to use a div to build my button with very good results. However, when the text changes its length that does not mean the div will change its width as well. Should I approach this using javascript or is there a CSS solution I am missing. Apologies for missing code: div { position: relative; width: 121px; height: 30px; } I need a minimum width and not a dynamic this is why I used a fixed one. In case there is not a CSS alternative then I will use a javascript approach.

• Memory allocation in Linux

  Hello! I have a multi threaded application where I allocate buffers with data, which then wait in queues to be send via sockets. All buffers are reproducible because I use only buffers of fixed size in whole program (1024, 2048, 2080 and 5248 bytes). I noticed, that my program usually use up to 10 buffers of each length type at the same moment. So far I always manually allocate new buffer and then free it (using malloc() and free ()) where it's not needed any more. I started wondering if Linux is enough smart to cache this memory for me, so next time I allocate new buffer system only quickly receive a buffer I have already used before and not perform heavy operation of allocating new memory block?

  My company recently upgraded from IE 6 to IE 8. My site does not render properly. I wanted to make sure my .net version was fixed before I started to try to fix a problem. I think my web.config file says i'm using 3.5, but if I get an error when running the app I get this: Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3603; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082 Why does it say 2.0? rather than 3.5? How do i change this? (using visual studio 2008, running the site locally) Thanks in advance!

• html - how do I make a page load in a new tab in IE8?

  My website works in Firefox - pages on the site load in the current tab, and links off site load a new tab. IE8 won't behave: target="_blank" opens a whole new window; the other options, _self _top _parent, all open the page in the current tab. I have Firefox set to "Open new windows in a new tab." The links to pages on my site all have target="_self" and Firefox keeps these in the current tab. On the external links I don't have a target set (I added _blank to see if it fixed IE8, and doing that didn't affect Firefox). I can't find an equivalent setting in IE8. Tools-Internet Options-General-Tabs/Settings has an enable tabs box, and a sub-option to automatically switch to newly opened tabs. Is there some html that will work? An IE8 setting I'm missing? Any help appreciated.

  Hey I have a problem with my LINQ to Entity model many to mant relation. I am new to both C# and LINQ, so bear with me. I have a model containing pictures and tags, where each picture can have many tags, and each tag can be on many pictures. In the db there is a normal relation table, but in the object model I see it as picture.tags (as a list) and tag.pictures (as a list). A search query contains several tags, and the result of the search is to contain all pictures that are tagged with all the tags (but maybe more) I have searched for. The number of tags to search for is not fixed. How can this best be done?

• [jQuery] Any HTML tags inside of tooltip cause basic tooltip to close on hover.

  Hi. I'm new to jQuery, in fact any kind of AJAX / JavsScript (although not new to PHP, xHTML and CSS). Anyway I'm trying to achieve a "tooltip-like" effect, where I can hover over a div...the new div fades in above it and then when I exit the div the "tooltip" fades out. So here's the basic jQuery I've managed to scrap together reading the odd guide here and there: $(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in').hover(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeIn('medium'); }); $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').mouseout(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeOut('medium'); }); }); Problem is if I put "any" html tag inside the div that hovers in, the second you roll over it the div fades back out.   I want to create a installer which would just dump few files and folders at a location specified by user. But the problem is these files are required to be picked up from a fixed source folder and then the installer is build. Also, these files may change any time and then again a new version of the installer is required to be created. I want to do this in .Net using Setup and Deployment project. I'm not sure how to do this. Do I need to create another class library project with a Setup Poject? Does anyone has any idea?

• VS2010 patch: why it's take so much time to install it? [closed]

  Visual Studio 2010 RC has a few of patches release. For more information about them take a look here. What I'm expect from patch program, is to replace a few dll's of the program to a new fixed version of them. But when I run each of this 3 patches, they take a lot of time (5 minutes each), and you think that the program was frozen because the progress bar stay on the begging. This is question may not be so important, but it really interesting me to know, why this happens? It's really confusing to see that each VS2010 (or Microsoft in general) is frozen to 4-5 minutes.

  Is it possible to validate a radio group (so something is checked off, or chosen) using server-side validation with Perl? If so, how? I already have it for JavaScript, but I want this form to be able to be submitted even without JavaScript enabled. Thus I will need the validation on the server-side. There is no fixed name for the radio group, it can change, however there must be a name, so that @names = $cgi->param() will give all the names. I'm thinking along something that will give me the type, like the type in JavaScript, to determine if it's a radio button in a group.

• Using TweenMax to fade in div with background pattern and z-index not working

  I'm trying to do this really simple fade using TweenMax for this div I have. Here's the css for the div .aboutBg { background:url(../images/pattern.jpg); top:0; right:0; left:0; bottom:0, position:fixed; border:10px solid red; z-index:10; } TweenMax.to('.aboutPage', 0.5, {autoAlpha:1}); What's happening is the border would fade in nicely but the patterned bg is not, it just pops up at the end of the tween. If I remove the z-index everything works, but I have to have set the z-index so it's on top of my other content. Also I'm not tweening the z-index, it's set before the tween, so I'm not sure why it's not fading correctly. Anyone has any idea? Thanks.

For example I have 6 pictures (or more) and I would like to create ONE picture who contain these different pictures. The Difficulty is that my final picture must have a fixed width and height (304x179), so if the different pictures are too big they must be cut. This is an example from IconFinder : This picture is composed by 6 images, but the 3rd bird (green) is cutted, and the 4, 5 and 6 are cutted in the bottom. In my search view I have two select boxes with fixed values like: SELECT BOX 1 SELECT BOX 2 ALL, ALL, FR, FR, US, US, DE DE And I have 2 fields in my DB with country_from and country_to. So for making a simple search like from FR to US I use: @search_result = Load.find(:all, :conditions => "country_from='#{params[:country_from]}' AND country_to='#{params[:country_to]}'" ) that is fine, but I need to implement the ALL option as well, so when I make a search like from DE to ALL I get a list with all countries in country_to I image I can do it with ifs...but what would be the most efficient way to do it?

  I'm building a simple client-server chat system. The clients send data to the server and the server resends the data to all the other clients. I'm using the TcpListener and Network stream classes to send the data between the client and the server. The fields I need to send are, for example: name, text, timestamp, etc. I separate them using the ASCII character 29. I'm also using ASCII character 30 to mark the end of the streamed data. The data is encoded with UTF8.. Is this a good approach? Will I run into problems? Are there better methods? UPDATE: Probably my question was misunderstood, so I explain it better..
