• Rendering sass template from a sinatra app doesn't work. Is this due to v.1 incompatibility? Workaro

  get '/stylesheets/style.css' do header 'Content-Type' => 'text/css; charset=utf-8' sass :style end does not produce the stylesheet anymore. What would be a version 1.0 compatible way to do this? Or, troubleshooting suggestions if you think that the issue is with the code? The style.sass file is in the /views folder. Haml files from the same folder render OK. Thank you.

• Running server-program from a .jar file

  I have created and am working on a server-application that monitors for specific folders and takes appropriate actions whenever files are being added. Now I come to the point where I want to be able to shutdown the program, for example for applying a patch. The server runs simply in a command prompt, how can I signal that I want to perform maintenance on it? I do not think reading System.In is feasible as I am also outputting text in the prompt.   Hi Folks, Can you think of one type of error that might be found using White-Box testing, and one type using Black-Box testing. i.e. an error that would be found by one and not the other.   The standard abbreviations for decibels is "dB" (note the case!) So, if I have a variable, holding (for instance) a maximum dB value, how best to name it? maxDbValue maxdBValue maxDecibelValue something else? Each has disdvantages - #1 swaps the case of the unit, #2 doesn't clearly split max from dB, and #3 is verbose... I think #1 feels best, but...???

My point is, that I don't want webserver (Apache) to be running after OS start, because it's useless load for my laptop. I think its because of 0.15 So how can I update (using DQL) balance without additional SELECT queries to User's table to fetch his balance, calculate new balance and do query like Doctrine_Query::create()->from('User')->update('balance', '?', $new_balance)->execute();

  I'm using the nice feature in QMessageBox to optionally show detailed text to the user. However, the window after expansion is still fairly small, and one immediately tries to resize the window so more of the details are visible. Even after setting what I think are the proper settings it won't allow resizing. Here's the relevant snippet of PyQt4 code: mb = QMessageBox() mb.setText("Results written to '%s'" % filename) mb.setDetailedText(str(myData)) mb.setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy.Expanding, QSizePolicy.Expanding) mb.setSizeGripEnabled(True) Am I missing a step and/or is this at all possible?

  Seen various examples of WPF applications I've seen the use of the Grid control for almost anything, even simplest things with only 1 column or row. Also, the WPF templates start with an empty grid. For me, using StackPanel or DockPanel is less verbose and are better for maintenance (think adding a row later and having to add +1 to all the other rows) Why is Grid better or what I am missing?

• Rails: Easy way to add more than one flash[:notice] at a time.

  I thought every time you do a flash[:notice]="Message" it would add it to the array which would then get displayed during the view but the following just keeps the last flash: flash[:notice] = "Message 1" flash[:notice] = "Message 2" Now I realize it's just a simple hash with a key (I think :)) but is there a better way to do multiple flashes than the following: flash[:notice] = "Message 1<br />" flash[:notice] = "Message 2" Thanks.   There was this old sql server tool called Lectoneth or something like that, you'd put sql queries in it, and it would rewrite it for you.   Hi All, I know that there is the PyObjC bridge is OSX and what I want to do is to put a python application/script in the rightclick context menu of OS X. there is the OnMyCommand plugin but I dont think that supports python. I've had a look at how to do it in Carbon/ Objective-C and i'll admit it im a wuss and am just not smart enough yet to grok how to do it (I aint even close to groking it actually.) • Selecting all but one field?

  instead of SELECT * FROM mytable, i would like to select all fields EXCEPT one (namely, the 'serialized' field, which stores a serialized object). this is because i think that losing that field will speed up my query by a lot. however, i have so many fields and am quite the lazy guy. is there a way to say... `SELECT ALL_ROWS_EXCEPT(serialized) FROM mytable` ? thanks!

  I'm trying to make semantic urls for search pages, but if someone use a search finished in dot, the .net engine return a 404. The request don't even get to the routing engine, so i think its something related to security or something like that. For example, the stackoverflow routes also don't work in these case: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/etc.

When I check in C#, Regex.IsMatch("t", "^[a-zA-Z]") // Return true (I think it's correct) Regex.IsMatch("t", "[^a-zA-Z]") // Return false There are alot of web site using [^a-zA-Z] for alphabet. I'm not really sure which one is correct answer. Could someone please shed the light?

• Integrating lesser known e-payment gateways full of surprises?

  I've integrated about half a dozen e-payment gateways, from popular ones (like paypal) to not-so popular ones. It seems every time I try to integrate a non-popular epayment gateway, I exceed my original time-estimation. I think I'm a decent programmer, but my time estimations probably needs work.
