  • Can I use Google Drive's editor interface embed in a website?

    I want to use google drive to store the files, but allow the users of my website to be able to edit them transparently, so that they don't have to go to google drive's website. Is this possible with the current API? Thus far I have only seen how to create an app for them to install in google drive, or doing something like DrEdit (https://developers.google.com/drive/examples/), which parses the files to JSON and uses the ACE editor, which is definitely not what I want.

  • What options I have to show a sentence parts with different color?

    I have a longer sentence 200 characters. I need to show on the screen having parts of them in different color, like highlighting search results, each with different color. The text should auto wrap with screen width, and have no break sections between parts. I meant with this that I can put sections on a new line. They will have to continue the previous section, only wrap when the screen is off. The best would be an EditText, as I need to allow editing also, but I am wondering I am able to change the color of various sentence parts, or just as a whole. What do you think, with what UI elements can I achieve this view?

    I'm have difficulty adding a subview UIView from within the viewDidLoad method of a UITableViewController This works: [self.view addSubview:self.progView]; But you can see the table cell lines bleed through the UIView progView. I've tried this approach: [self.view.superview insertSubview:self.progView aboveSubview:self.view]; Which is an attempt to add the progView UIView to the superview, above the current view. When I try this I get this the UIView never appears.

    I'm study fb api recently and I use fb api to do login, however, when I use Fb.Login() method, and scope the permission that I needed. I found the problem that when I use account ( this account is also the fb app admin ) to login, everything is be work including login dialog and oauth dialog , but when I use another account ( General account ) the login dialog is work but OAuth Dialog is not work . I've tried another account ( General account ), it had the same situation, Only when I use the account which is also the fb app owner account would be work. Any Ideas ? Below is the code...   • A quick tip for those working with the Windows Phone 7 AD SDK.

    One thing that I’ve noticed in several apps in the Windows Phone 7 marketplace is the ad chopping off on the right hand side. I decided that my next Windows Phone 7 app will be ad supported so why not sign up for the Advertising SDK and investigate this issue. *Note: If you want to see this in an actual app then download the free app called “Road Rage”. So here is an example of what I am talking about: You will notice that the right hand side of the AD is chopped off using the default ad banner. You can see the border on the left hand side clearly. So, what exactly is going on? Let’s take a look at this in the designer. From this image we can see it clearer, the margin of the grid that the ad is contained in needs to be removed. By default, the ContentPanel in a Windows Phone Page has a margin already set on it. See below for an example of this: <!--ContentPanel - place additional content here--> <Grid x:Name="ContentPanel" Grid.Row="1" Margin="12,0,12,0"> </Grid> If you simply remove that margin then your ad will display properly as shown below. It’s strange that I’ve seen this in multiple WP7 applications in the marketplace. If you are trying to make money off Ads, you would probably want to make sure the full ad is displayed.   • Pros and Cons of Facebook's React vs. Web Components (Polymer)

    What are the main benefits of Facebook's React over the upcoming Web Components spec and vice versa (or perhaps a more apples-to-apples comparison would be to Google's Polymer library)? According to this JSConf EU talk and the React homepage, the main benefits of React are: Decoupling and increased cohesion using a component model Abstraction, Composition and Expressivity Virtual DOM & Synthetic events (which basically means they completely re-implemented the DOM and its event system) Enables modern HTML5 event stuff on IE 8 Server-side rendering Testability Bindings to SVG, VML, and <canvas> Almost everything mentioned is being integrated into browsers natively through Web Components except this virtual DOM concept (obviously). I can see how the virtual DOM and synthetic events can be beneficial today to support old browsers, but isn't throwing away a huge chunk of native browser code kind of like shooting yourself in the foot in the long term? As far as modern browsers are concerned, isn't that a lot of unnecessary overhead/reinventing of the wheel? Here are some things I think React is missing that Web Components will care of. Correct me if I'm wrong. Native browser support (read "guaranteed to be faster") Write script in a scripting language, write styles in a styling language, write markup in a markup language. Style encapsulation using Shadow DOM React instead has this, which requires writing CSS in JavaScript. Not pretty. Two-way binding

  • IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

    I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.   • Deck from London UG 20110616 - Building a Reporting Brick capable of 1.2GBytes/sec and 80K IOs/sec for less than £2K

    The Reporting Brick concept is not really anything new, it starts the walk toward bringing the work Jim Gray and Tom Barclay et al did on CyberBricks up-to-date in terms of current kit. A reporting brick is simply a box built from commodity kit utilising commodity SSD, namely the OCZ IBIS drives to gain extremely high levels of performance for a fraction of the cost required for typical server and san installs today. I'll write up over the next few months as I work further on the concept, for now the deck attached summarises some of the ideas around it, the deck was presented at last nights London SQL Server User Group, I will be presenting it again in Edinburgh on the 29th June and other locations later in the year.   • How do I make music sync with iOS 5 in Ubuntu 11.10 work?

    I've tried several tutorials on the internet but nothing works. This is not a duplicate, it is true that there are several of them about ios5 but not one of them asks specifically about music syncing or ubuntu oneiric ocelot... I'm just so angry at Apple because of this, my iPod classic syncs just fine with Banshee but my iPad 2 won't, because they suddenly decided to change how uploading music to their app works in ios5. I looked around and saw that an unstable libimobiledevice-1.1.2. was available, but I can't manage to install it! It's a nightmare, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can Flash games packed for iOS and other mobile devices achieve reasonable performance?

    I was thinking of developing a game in Flash, as a hobby/educational project. However, I was hoping I could make it run on a smartphone, but a friend who develops in Flash says that in their experience things will move really slow on the likes of an iPad when the Flash packager is used. So slowly that you can't use it commercially for fast-moving games. Has anyone else experienced this slowness? Is there a way around it or is the technology just not there yet?

  • MonoGame; reliable enough to be accepted on iOS, Win 8 and Android stores?

    I love XNA; it simplifies rendering code to where I don't have to deal with it, it runs on C# and has very fairly large community and documentation. I would love to be able to use it for games across many platforms. However, I am a little bit concerned about how well it will be met by platform owners; Apple has very tight rules about code base but Android does not. Microsoft's new Windows 8 platforms seems to be pretty lenient but I am not sure oh how they would respond to an XNA project being pushed to the app store (given they suddenly decided to dump it and force developers to use C++/Direct3D). So the bottom line is; is it safe to invest time and energy into a project that runs on MonoGame? In the end, is is possible to see my game on multiple platforms and not be shot down with a useless product?

    I downloaded java SDK from Google App Engine. I tried running appcfg.cmd from command prompt. But it gives this error. Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment' Error: could not find java.dll Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment. All i want to do with Google App Engine is to set up cron jobs with 1 minute frequency. I don't want to make any application in Google App Engine. I just want the cron job set up. Is there any way to set up cron job in Google App Engine without using the java SDK ???

    So I have been using Linux(especially, ubuntu) and windows(windows 7) for a long time . But i dont have a MAC, neither do i have an iphone. I do not actually want to buy them either . So the problem here is :how do i publish my app from windows or linux ? Kindly do understand i am not speaking about jailbroken programs(for jail broken i phones), i do not have any one near me who will lend me a MAC to publish my app . I started learning objective C some time ago. However, whenever i search the internet i get this information that there is no full proof way of publishing an app from windows or Linux . I also do intend to make it a paid app, meaning i dont wanna make it free. It will be very helpful if someone can suggest a way to overcome this problem .

  • Can the Windows 8 Live SDK use another Microsoft Account other than the current user?

    Using the Windows 8 Live SDK you can have a user give you permission to their Microsoft Account. With this you can get their name and photo and more. But using the Live SDK appears to require the user of the app to use the same Microsoft Account as whoever is signed into the current session of Windows 8. In some scenarios, using a different account is very legitimate. I have simple sign-in working like a charm! This uses the same account. I can't find a way to do use another. Is it possible?

  • If we write iOS and sell on App Store, are we protected for legal consequences? [closed]

    Will the developer or company (is a corporation or is not) be responsible for legal consequences, or will they be covered and protected by the Apple Store Terms of Use agreement? For example: 1) the app is fun and the kids show the app to a parent who is driving the car, and got into an accident. 2) if the app does road navigation and it went into problem or crash or slow, and caused an accident while driving. 3) or if the terms require using an app in a safe and non-time critical situation, what if the app recommend some exercise routine or diet (such as suggesting eating more eggs, milk, or using some herbs), and it could be argued that they caused any health consequence?
